Because Teagan is awesome. I would have happily traded any party member (except Wynne, need my healer!) for the chance to have Teagan tag along as a party member.

I was so very disappointed when this particular codex entry was not pursued or mentioned in the game. It was a touching note, and I felt a little bit reminded of the rolled of note from V for Vendetta that Evey found during her imprisonment.

Not all heroes are allowed the luxury of legacy.

But as long as even one person knows, I think that is enough for him.

I actually don't want Teagan as a recruitable party member. There's something happening between him and the PC if you take the conversation that way, something that could easily be expanded with extra dialogue and a Rainesfere DLC. I would love for that promise of a possible romance to remain, with the right dialogue options at say Rainesfere, the post-coronation and the ending texts. IMO the "PC goes to do her duty while Teagan remains at Redcliffe/Rainesfere and does his" situation combined with a dash of chemistry and a promise of some love is far more interesting ;)

I have no idea. He is a good enough character, I suppose. If you are a female you can flirt with him, but it doesn't go anywhere past one line of dialogue choice. Besides, he gets married to Kaitlyn if you choose to do a few things! Yay!

Can we leave theTeagan love out of here, please?

I wonder what it would be like to pursue this said quest.

That wasn't supposed to be slotted into the quest codex entries. It was just a flavor entry.

I don't see the point. The guy put an ideal before his own life and died for it. He never heard of lying? Do you think the french resistance fighters said "Death to the Germans!" if the german soldiers came by and asked for something? It would have been a really short resistance, if they had. I nominate this guy for the Ferelden Darwin Award.

On Teagan... Yeah he's pretty cool, he verbally attacks Loghain and Anora at the Landsmeet after Ostagar, defends Redcliffe  and is seen fighting bravely at Denerim.

His only weakness is pretty women, who can blame him for that?

Apologies, Mueller, but i have to keep it in my quote. It's the funniest typo ever.

I'm happy to see that my typos amuse you.

Oh Teagan, you limber athletic man you. Looks as good in a full suit of armour as he does in his court clothes...Better in fact. Or maybe I just have a weakness for hot men wrapped in plate armour.

All I can think is, "Get me a can opener stat!"

I would have liked to see this Rainesfere place at the very least. This is a bummer.

I was a bit surprised that I wasn't able to give the note to Teagan (since IIRC it is filed under Quest Related), but I didn't really expect to go to Rainsfere. Like chiliztri noted, I thought it was a neat reference to V for Vendetta, not an actual plot hook.

Thing is, Fereldan culture is such that swearing an oath is sacred. It's one of the reasons why what Loghain did was so terrible as he violated his oaths to his king and the people he prommised to protect. In this guy's mind, and by Fereldan standards lying, even to save his life, would make his life worthless.

That, and that the whole point of the letter it references (in V for Vendetta) is to be an example of valuing your integrity more than your life. This is supposed to be a Fereldan spin on that. So maybe you think valuing an ideal more than your own life is stupid, but not everyone agrees.

Comparing it to WW2, yes, some people fought the ****s covertly. In other cases you had things like the Warsaw Uprising where people flat-out rebelled despite being militarily disadvantaged and unlikely to succeed. I don't think that merits a Darwin award, but I have strange notions about the nobility of the human spirit.

I found it very moving too.  I wished it had led somewhere.  Even if just allowing you to go to Rainesfere and saying that you feel more at peace.

Funny, this is one codex entry that I enjoyed as well.

Too bad it's not really a quest though, :( Poor guy.

This is funny, I didn't realize the shorthand term for the national socialist party in 1930s-40s Germany was censored.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure most crushes on Teagan are from the little flirting lines you can exchange if you're a female PC. That and his acrobatics later in the castle. The man is flexible.
