Sorry Liara, but that's how your race reproduces. I just don't know how to say that I'm not into you... because I can't. Bioware won't allow me to.

The game is saturated with Liara because she mind rapes you and now carries your baby! ME4 Will have you as this Asari baby trying to live up to your fathers name!

I will clarify that I began my ME adventure with ME2, and that means I got ****-Liara right off the bat. Instantly disliked her because of that, but then I bought and completed ME(1) and got over that hatred. She's still really frigging mean in ME2 though until you actually finish Shadow Broker.

But if you are NOT romancing Liara, and you actually don't want to rely the game fudging it up for you, then actually trying to Paragon talk to her is actually stressful. You can't really enjoy all the dialogue and explore it freely (for the first time), because WHOOPS that option was actually a flirt option. Now you're locked into this lolololol. Because I wanted to be with Tali, and she was NOT an option in ME1, I literally had to very-carefully navigate Ashley and Liara talks... one slip up, and I have to reload a save. Finally was able to relax when I was foreveralone.jpg at Ilos.

ME2 was of course fine, since neither of those LI's are really there. Liara is mean and Ash is all STFU TRAITOR at you, so I was cool with that. More Tali for me. But ME3 rolls around, and Liara turns up in literally the 2nd mission. And the way she talks even though I'm not romancing her... I feel like I'm getting the romance dialogue, and it freaked me out. So I'm back to ME1 mode... not just enjoying the dialogue, but analyzing the hell out of what the responses mean so I don't accidently flirt/hint/whatever. Even though I never broke up with Tali, I found the attempt to hit on Cortez, Diana, AND Liara herself all still show up bright as day. Since they are paragon options, I almost instaclicked them. But Liara herself seems really touchy-feely towards me and I just don't want it. No thanks.

But who said Liara is the biggest character in ME series beside Shepard? Wut? She was the last squadmate in ME1 and wasn't even one in ME2 (having basically nil story input until Shadow Broker came around) only starting to become super-duper important in ME3 for some unclear reason. Hardly seems like main-supporting-character material to me.

The fact remains that Liara gets special treatment in ME3. Just look at her ROMANCE scene, and compare that to.... almost every other. She gets the skankiest looking scene ME has ever experianced (I dare say it tops Miranda's engine-room skankiness), Ash not far behind but she was outright thrown out of ME2, she kind of deserves quality now right? Compare Liara's scene to Tali and you notice a difference: Tali's is freaking lame in comparison. No helmet removal (so even less quality than ME2, yikes), it's a tiny short conversation and Shepard basically makes out WITH HER HELMET for 1.5 secs, then cut to dream sequence. I'm not asking for a free porno here, but that's taking "leaving it to the imagination" a little far since you don't see ANYTHING. Not even implied. They probably decided to have a pillowfight instead, we don't freaking know. Some of the other romance scenes aren't much better either, so why does Liara deserve the skankiest scene of them all? I mean she hardly has competition compared to "cut to black after helmet kiss" now does she?

And yes, when my Shepard dies his final thought will be of Liara. Because apparently there wasn't a 2 second clip of Tali anywhere in the game to put there. My beef isn't so much Liara getting what she has, but she's getting this while others are getting JUNK or NOTHING at all. Bias much?

That's how Liara and VS fans felt when ME2 came out. I didn't see any Talimancers complaining about "character favoritism" when Mass Efect 2 came out.

I'm not quite sure how Tali was "favourited" (even a word? I dunno lol) in ME2, though. I mean yes, VS and Liara fans were totally screwed by ME2, but Tali can ONLY be recruited pretty damn late in the campaign (which always irked me) which really cuts down on how much you can enjoy having her around. It's made a bit worse since she's the first old squadmate you meet, but then she leaves straight away and you don't see her again until Haestrom.

But Garrus got the same "now romanceable!" treatment as Tali, and if Wrex lived he was cool but he didn't join you.... Grunt was an ok replacement. Was he favourited as well? Sort of.

Liara though then got an entire DLC dedicated to just her, and it was actually highquality DLC (not just one mission + squaddie), and in ME3 she's apparently superkeyimportant. Again Garrus appears earlier on and Tali? She's STILL kept waaaaay near the downward spiral of the playthrough, which is kind of proved by the fact I got Ash back in my squad BEFORE I got Tali. And Ash was hospitalised.

If anything, Ash/Kaiden fans have the real reason to be PO'd. After ME1 they got totally screwed with no compensation, and then in ME3 they re-appear earlier just to be DISABLED for almost 2-3 main story planets! Like wtf if I was a fan I'd be peeved to no end.

I swear, there are like over 9000 threads about this.

That kind of suggets I have a point if "over 9000" other people feel the same way :P

YOU DID GOOD, CHILD, YOU DID GOOD. I'M PROUD OF YOU.

This.  The old Shadowbroker kept track of how many cigarettes and women TIM was having per day.  The new one is freaking clueless.

The old Shadow Broker tried to find the cerberus HQ for years...and failed. The Asari kept their beacon secret for centuries...and nobody had an idea.

Liara barely had about 6 months of being the Shadow Broker before Cerberus attacked her and was concentrating on dissecting and gathering data on the Crucible. Yeah, she is a horrible SB because she didn't find the cerberus HQ...

- Liara's homeworld comic will focus on the Shadow Broker storyline
- She invested the resources of the Shadow Broker into ensuring the Crucible was built
- She's helping asari refugees

Lovely, but I don't see what that has got to do with the price of rice in China. Flavour text and meaningless numbers are contributed by nameless NPCs that can be creeped on at your favourite store on the Citadel.

The Shadowbroker network is a ludicrously vast resource--and a lot of hoopla was made over it--but manages not to have a single tangible effect on the plot whatsoever.

I don't even LIKE Liara but whenever something important seems to go down, Liara pops up and gives an opinion. She even creeps up into my room and shows off this weird time capsule/house for Glypth (should I care???) while trying to hit on me at every oppotunity. You're the Shadow Broker now dangit, you should probably know I'm already taken.

Even worse you're literally forced to take her on as your only other squadmate after Mars, since Ash got her face bashed in for pratically half the game. So after that she won't shut her mouth either. Even worse, on missions where I take Liara and someone substaintally more important to me, it defaults to her opinion on the big issues. No I don't care that you're visiting Eden Prime that once had a Pro-teh-hen beacon on it, you weren't even there and I really don't care. Then we find out about Javik and you're disgustingly excited all mission (made me sick), well at least that bites you in the rump. I'm dreading the ending where my final thought will be of a non-romanced Liara because I'm apparently too stupid to remember I'm seeing Tali. That'll go over real well with her, I'm sure.

I just don't get it. Why is Liara such a Bioware favourite?  She goes from kiddie bookworm -> unhelpful floozy who is a jerk to me all of ME2 -> gets an ENTIRE hardcore DLC dedicated to little ol' her (Zaeed and Kasumi? They are short, if interesting Loyalty missions at best) -> returns in the first 15 mins to half hour of ME3 and is basically your 2nd squadmate option from the getgo. They even CRIPPLE the Virmire Survivor to make SURE you play with Liara. And then she's just freaking everywhere, and if you don't drag her along to "X mission", you're "missing out" (my guidebook even specifically RECOMMENDS dragging her on certain missions for her "unique opinion"). She just apparently became so dang wise in between 2 and 3, since nobody else could possibly tell me what she has to say... not that she has a replacement since she can't be KILLED in any game >_<

Wrex was important, but he's too busy. Legion was important, oops he 'died'. I dislike Ash almost as much Liara, but I would've preffered her understated and exceedingly racist opinion... but oh well her face got smashed in. Better do a couple of story-planets before she can walk again. But Liara never leaves, never dies, and manages to worm her way into my squad on Thessia... better bring Javik and hope she explodes from rage.

TLDR; Why does the space Smurfette get such a giant role in ME3, and previous? It's a game in space, she is a space alien lady (Bioware: "Actually, they don't have genders. But they look like blue human women, so we can have a lesbian sex scene that isn't actually lesbian. LOLUMAD groups pining for same-sex Ash/Kaiden?"), we get it she fits the genre, but there's plenty of places I could go on the interenet if I just wanted to skank around. There's such a thing as moderation, and even if you never played ME before Liara can and will shove herself down your throat. I found Shiala more interesting of a character, and she was freaking GREEN.

BRO!

I agree with  you. I don't like Liara. I have my own squad favorites and yet, I wasn't able to choose them ie. Zaeed, Wrex, Grunt, Samara. I don't find Liara interesting at all. She's boring.........and she's given so much emphasis.

Anyway I believe you should post this here. Let Bioware know your views on this

I blame all those annoying fans for encouraging BW to give more Liara content, afterall BW stated that lots of their fans inspiration is taken from Deviant Art.. (SERIOUSLY BW!?!?!?!)

The net is saturated with lesbo shep-Liara scenes and blue babies... and that's what BW gave you, if you want blame someone, blame "yourselves".
