If anything, this game needs more Liara, and I cannot stress this enough.
Oh boy... Time to get inside children, there's a storm brewing.
At least I'll have a way to go to sleep.

I remember a couple years ago when we had massive talimancer wars that spread across the entire meta forums and caused unrepairable mental damage

Not just 'more Liara'... 'more Liara in an anti-Liara thread'... Hasn't gone down well in the past.
My stance on this is while I love Liara, I definitely can see why others would be upset, and I don't think we need more of her (Other than in the epilogue - or I should say an epilogue).
I feel sorry for Thaniacs and Jacobmancers the most.

The game needs less mandatory Liara, and more optional, personal interaction.
Aside from that one talk at the start, and the box, there's not that much to talk about with her until the end. Most other characters have something to say after evrey mission, and I remember having like four proper conversations each with Garrus and EDI.

And if the were real, what exactly makes you think they would want you or your right nut?Peregrin25 wrote...
I think I said this in another Liara hate thread, I don't recall, but in all honesty, I would give my right nut to be with an asari, [/smilie]

Thanks for stopping by
It's good to see you
I miss this place
Feel free to look around
Are we ready for the next mission
May we can talk later
I only singled Liara out for the repetitive lines of dialog, as this was true for all characters. but I found her one-to-one interactions to be less (only one dialogue wheel when you first approach her on the Normandy).
The rest consists of her talking to Glyph (and Garrus in the seating area).
Garrus on the otherhand is overrated.
I couldn't stand him in ME2 and didn't like him in ME3, he talks too much and is all over the Normandy.
The Lounge with Javik and Copeland/Liara, Memorial wall, Kitchen area with James, Flight deck with Joker.
I think his presence supersedes Liara's presence in that respect.

the right nut comment didn't necessarily mean giving it to them. It was more of like you know I would give an arm and a leg or somthing like that. just a figure of speach of how far I might go to get involved with an asari. And it was figuretivly speaking. And who are you to say somthing like that? what exactly makes you think they would want you. I dunno if that was a joke or what but that was really harsh. You don't know me. Why even say something like that? Talk about a low blow!

There should have definitely been an option to not have Liara on the ship, like with Ashley or Kaidan in ME3. Honestly she was a terrible SB, heck Traynor or maybe Miranda would make better Shadow Brokers would be better then her.
I agree, as long as there's no preferential treatment for any character. They all loose plot armour. You ought to be able to ditch whoever you want and keep whoever you want. It could have been interesting if there was a Virmire type situation in ME3 where you'd have to leave someone behind.
"So who gets left behind this time?"
Everyone points at Liara. She bursts into tears at no longer being able to incessently stalk Shepard. Shepard gets a good nights sleep and no longer feels paranoid when on the toilet.
Choose Garrus and he makes puppy eyes and goes "B-b-b-b-but I've got callibrations..."
Choose Tali and she stocks up on nerve stim programs, extranet vids and a nice dextro doggy bag of nibbles if she's going to be left behind. She has a ball.
Choose Vega and he grumbles that there'll be no one to admire his muscles or give nicknames to. He'll find a pyjack and call it Scribbles then they'll live happily ever after.
Choose EDI and she'll not need to take a bulk supply of WD40. She later creates a race in her own image. Joker finds out about this years later and has a meltdown.
Choose Javik and Liara will cry, send her with him. Double win!
Choose Kaiden and he'll ask if Cerberus put you up to this. Slap him with a mullet. Krogans back on Tuchanka will home in on the sound of a real fish.
Choose Ashley and she'll likely try to beat you into submission with a chair until you get her drunk and leave her ass on whatever planet you need to where she'll open up a fashion line "designed to overhaul your appearance in an ill chosen fashion - space bimbo's 'r' us"
Failing that a "SHUT UP LIARA" button would do nicely.

I don't know, Asari **** everything that moves...
But I agree, if they were real I doubt that they would ever find a male "attractive". If she's a woman though, she could put a squid on her head and she's ready.

Glad you agree my best mate said it best. Liara is Mass Effects answer to Rose and Shepard is ME's Charlie Harper.

The problem is more the lack of interaction with Garrus, Ash/Kaidan and Tali.

Why is BSN saturated with anti-Liara threads recently would be a better question.
Sure I prefer the Talimance, but I had no problems with Liara in any of the games minus the cold reception in ME2. She is Shep's close friend and has been with him since ME1, so she is a big part of the team dynamic right below Team Dextro. I really didn't mind her always checking up on Shep, at least she is there for him, and most of her stuff is optional anyways.
I understand the Liara hate going on, however, like many people have suggested, just deal with it. I'm not much of a Liara fan but it's not like her moments were worthless (looking at you Allers).
I'm going to defend Liara the same way I defended Tali. Be glad with what you have and ask for more. Don't take away other people's fun just because you don't like it.

Liara is not a bad character, I don't get the hate. She's one of the most interesting characters growth wise in the series.
She goes from the bumbling prothean archaeologist in the first game to the Shadow Broker at the end of the second, and finally assists Shepard in ridding the galaxy of the reaper threat, one way or another, in the third.
this can we complain about another squad mate now Tali perhaps?

Having Miranda as the SB would be quite awesome actually. Seeing her have a battle of information and intelligence against TIM would be something to behold (if done properly).XTR3M3 wrote...
Miranda taking over the Shadow broker position would have been so much better. Keeping Liara the way she was in ME1 would have been so much better.
...Or not, considering TIM is kind of stupid.
That being said, I disagree. Keeping Liara unchanged from ME1 to 3 would be a terrible narrative decision. She should have definitely changed, just more believably so.
