 Death Proof

Very dull in many parts, and not typical Tarantino dialogue, but the vehicular violence, and one of, if not the greatest car chases of all time, is money. Kurt Russell is always bad-assery.

The Hunger Games

I found it to be better than I had expected, however the action scenes were far too fast paced to make anything of it; too shaky and so on. I'm sure it was meant artistic, but it was a horrid decision. Still, I'll prolly lend the books from a friend.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part I & II

The first one was boring. The second one has epic moments and I like the revelation about Snape and Dumbledore.

On DvD, it would be Super 8; at the theater, it would be The Blind Side.

The Avengers at the theater (next one will be Cabin in the Woods).

On Blu Ray I think it was The Incredibles

at the theater: Safe. rarely go to the movies anymore, but Jason Statham is my weakness.

at home: rifftrax'd version of Frankenstein's Island.

In a theater: The Avengers. Was amazing in many ways.

At home: Inglorious basterds. I enjoyed it. Great acting, especially from Christoph Waltz.

Batman: Under the Red Hood. I love that movie and try to get as many people I know to see it as possible.

Some awful thing on SyFy called Dragon Crusaders or something. It was on at like 4am and was just terrible, I'd honestly no clue what was going on. There was a tiny woman dressed like Xena doing "fighting pose number 3" for most of the film, then she sang a man back to life, then at the end she started actually doing stuff during fights rather than just her pose, people got turned into dragons and it was all rather terrible.

Did you say Deathproof was dull? You don't know movies...

Last movie I saw was Haywire
Image IPB

It has the feel of a 60's Spy movie down perfectly. Reminded me of The Ipcress File in a lot of places.

It was my 4th watch. Saw the whole double feature shebang twice in the theater. That should tell you something. But the whole bar scene minus Stuntman Mike is D ull. Not the interesting dialogue Tarantino is known for. Then we get a money scene, followed by more dialogue for a long stretch that is, not great, but a step up from the previous, with the characters being a tad more interesting.

The 'action' is worth the price of admission, as well as the beauty, which is the scream of a roaring mopar. The thrilling and twisty muscle car showdown was spectacular.

Death Proof is the truer form of a 'grindhouse' film than Planet Terror, as so much of the real deal was known for long stretches of nothing, with those one, two, or three cheap set piece money shots.

If anything, Tarantino nailed the idea perfectly.

Wow this positive attitude towards Haywire doesn't match what I've been hearing elsewhere.

The last movie I watched was Tucker and Dale vs Evil (2nd time). So much fun.
