Truthfully, I don't believe he left for the reasons he stated on his blog. Unnamed sources, told me he left Bioware to  become a Dr.

Dr. Woo

Really!

Stanley Woo never banned me but for when I did deserve it. That's the highest praise a mod can be given.

I'm glad you're still with us Stan. But there's something I need to get off my chest.

EA JUST SUCKS! THEY ARE DESTROYING BIOWARE AND I JUST HATE THEM WITH EVERY FIBER OF MY BEING!!!

And? This accomplishes what for you? What does this help to change?

I certainly hope this doesn't mean that EA operates under a business plan which explicitly assumes that widespread hatred from customers is utterly irrelevant? It would be just taking EA'ness a bit too far. Image IPB

(Just making a pointed joke here.   ...At least I hope it's just a joke? Image IPB)

now this is interesting stan because i am curious to hear what your thoughts are on ea but thats entirley up to you if you want to go into details

What do you mean? They were my employer for, what, 4 years or so? They never missed a cheque, and I never had trouble communicating with some of their admin, HR, or Stock Administration staff when needed. That is perhaps the only interaction I have had with the EA side of the company.

Does this also mean that you Bioware moderators never had much contact with EA community staff moderators?

i was just curious if you dealt with anything like ea forcing stuff on you to wich makes you want to leave

Anyone else notice in his article he wrote.

"I'm considering something creative as the next job for this scrappy little ninja. And now that I'm no longer employed by EA, I can explore these creative ideas more freely!"

Notice he said EA and Not Bioware but throughout the article he writes Bioware..does that have some meaning?

Tazz even if true he couldn't say, contracts have lovely little details that more or less says "what happens in the company stays in the company unless you want to be sued for everything you own"

And people still talk of transparency as a relevant ideal... well, none exists really, as seems. :)

Transparency isn't and never was relevant. Anyone with any sort of power, is pretty much always doing something they don't want someone else to know. Just how things are.

Hmm...as I'm reading this thread, I can't help but picture some BW designers create a Ninja Stan character for a DA game in the future.

Nah, from what I've been led to understand by the devs in other conversations, they are prohibited from saying much that would either confirm or disprove the ideas about EA destroying Bioware and the like.

:crying:NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Except if it's what you want, then Yes, I guess. :)

Mr Woo... you've been around a long time, and I hope you don't drift away from this community.

Speaking for a moment as the person behind this anonymous internet persona - you have my very best wishes, and I wish you the very best of luck - may everything you touch turn to excellent happiness.

Anonymous internet persona re-engaged.

This is terrible. Has anybody seen Stan since that post? People said he was posting in this thread, but I can't see anything perceptible to the untrained human eye...

I've been doing the same job for four and a half years and I hate it with every fiber of my being. But with two mouths to feed at home, you're stuck. I envy you, Mr Woo.

hi5, fellow breadwinner/slave bro/sis. I was in this situation for a long time, and when you have the mandatory unpaid overtime problems I kinda thought I half-saw someone in this thread post about (but it must have been my imagination) it can really, really suck.

I moved on because my glum face and poor health from stress were beginning to make my family unhappy. Here's hoping you can at some point, too.

Nobody wrote anything...

Wherever Stan is right now, at least people are ensuring he still gets his Righteous Indignation RDA - hearts of gold this community.

Good luck in your future endeavours Mr Woo and i hope we did not make life hard for you with all our complaining and criticising in the past.

Lol, why are you telling me this now? It's not like it will change the way I Moderate or the way that people post. ARe you perhaps implying that you're going to start making life hard for me in the future? Hmmmmmmmmmmmm? ;)

(No worries, fchopin. I don't take much of the complaints or criticisms personally. I have a thick skin, but it does get a bit wearing when people start insulting your job and company and telling you you're either incompetent or lazy, or making a series of racist alts mocking you.)

Careful, bEVEsthda. As we've discussed before, your comments and/or tone can sometimes be taken too far.

Does this also mean that you Bioware moderators never had much contact with EA community staff moderators?

Correct. I don't think I've had any interaction with a member of the EA Community team. I've only dealt with them through Chris Priestly, if at all.

It means that global policies regarding things like outside projects are handed down by EA, the parent company, but throughout my career I've only worked at BioWare, the studio that hired me and the one that I feel closer to.

EDIT: Combined multiple responses so I wasn't spamming the thread.

It's a https://www.google.c...=1920&bih=1051] Piaggio BV 500[/url], one of the bigger, 500cc scooters. Sadly, mine's been in the shop for three weeks, waiting on parts.

As a much talked-upon concept with real consequences to the different situation in which we variedly
apply  the term, it is relevant.

Yup but there's a difference between normative and descriptive claims.

Descriptive claims have got nothing to do with how things should be, thus cannot affect anything within their bounds. To affect something, and actually do something, normative regulations must be in place. Things don't (only) just happen, us as bystanders.

I for one am all for normative, and would vouch for the "transparency" ideal. Not that there really is any that often (though there *should* be, I say with a grin on me face).

So is it something like at Target. If you work for Target, any ideas you have that may benefit how Target operates become the property of Target.
