On the 25th May 2012 I promoted the following classes.
This happened around 20 hours ago. Apparantly this was 6 hours too early.
But it was definitely the 25th May 2012 in the UK at the time.
I promoted Vanguard, Sentinel, Infiltrator, Engineer and Soldier.
Do these early promotions not count?
That's 5 promotions I'm talking about here. Do they really not count? This could mean the difference between everyone achieving the allied goal and everyone failing the allied goal.
In the opening post I couldn't find any reference to the specific time when the challenge starts.

It took me ages to get them up to level 20.
I don't like promoting characters (even though the higher N7 rank reduces chances of being kicked in Gold lobbies).

ok now im confused, I have been at this since 10 this morning and im only still on promotion 1, I have been non-stop working hard, why is it some can do it in 10 minutes? Im wondering if im doing something wrong, I have promoted 3 classess 2 still at level one and the one im working on is 19.
it not that your bad at it it that other have more skill/confidance in them selves to do higher/harder lvls:D
once u get to lvl11 try doing sliver if u can live in sliver lvl up to 16-18 then try lvling up in gold the rest of the way if you can that said it not so hard to do

No. It's one of the big gripes about these events, win or lose information about how easily we won or how badly we lost isn't very forthcoming.Tiberis wrote...
I promoted three classes, will probably work on three more. Is there anyway to keep track of the squad and allied goals?

I'm not the only person in the house.
My brother also has to complete the challenge or otherwise no one gets the victory packs.
I promoted 5 classes on the 25th May 2012 and they don't count?

A rule of thumb. If the weekend operation appears on your multiplayer dash. You know it has the picture an explains the goals. Then you can safely promote. I've done this every weekend and have gotten every pack because of it

I won't be able to promote 3 classes in the remaining time.
I have to wait for my turn to use the console.

if u can get a good squad going silver is great for lvling, avging 200-250k+ xp/match. u can get 13+ lvls in about 3 matches (match 1 lvl 1-8, match 2 8-12, match 3 pushes u to about 14 or 15) if yer galactic readiness is maxed (max readiness gives u a 5% xp bonus.) with the right squad u can do silver in about 20 mins.Pavs719 wrote...

bronze is good for about 12 lvls in 3 matches (about 150k +/- per match), and a match can be done in 15 mins if yer squad is doing well.
I would imagine it would be really fast on gold, but I wouldn't suggest that unless u have some uber gear and a l33t team

Umm, why would your early promotions count? I promoted a few classes last week, should they count?
These operations aren't rocket science (perhaps Cobra Missile science, but I digress) wait until you are absolutely positive the operation is on before you promote.
XBox & PC have it easy - you guys get a "splash" screen. On PS3 we get no announcement, so you wanna know what I did?
I waited (**GASP**) then I promoted late last night/early this AM and I bet all three of my promotions count.

If you are a good gold player, but aren't good at staying alive at level 1, here's what I've found as the best way to do it....
Play two matches on bronze, this should get you up to level 9 at least, if not way more. From there, you can throw all of your accumulated points into fitness/shields (thus increasing your chances of survival). Once you have that, you can play on gold or silver no problem, really all you're lacking is the extra powers, which you don't really need anyways (by that I mean you can survive a few matches with guns) and then rack up a bunch of extra experience because gold and silver get you more experience, so... yeah. Try it, I started level 1 with my engineers yesterday, played three and a half matches (two bronze and one full gold, plus one gold where we all died at wave 9 due to lots of low levels and me being the only one with medigel), and I'm already level 15.

I was planning on keeping my sentinel to play on gold with to save up credits for Rebellion.
Do you guys think I should add to the cause with my sentinel or do you think that the allied goal will be beaten easily enough?
Opinions?

He has the PS3 version. The multiplayer dashboard on the PS3 does not notify players about the multiplayer events. I'm not sure why it hasn't been implemented yet but it would help PS3 gamers in avoiding confusion on when the event actually has started. It's just another one of the laundrey list of problems plauging this game.

No reason to get snarky is there? As to your suggestion of waiting, that's all well and good but why should Abraham_uk need to wait and guess as to whether or not the operation has actually started? I understand that start times can be found from other sources but come on, how stupid is that? This website is called the Bioware Social Network. We shouldn't have to go to Bioware's blog or Twitter page to find this information out. Is there some reason stopping Chris Priestly from posting the start times in operation theads? Would it really be that difficult to give us all the information we need from one source?

I promoted my three classes last night at about 9pm central time, which would have been 7pm pacific standard time (the time zone that they stated in the announcement). I'd think mine are fine but if not that'll suck. I spent the better part of the week getting my sentinel, adept, and vanguard to 20 so I wouldn't have to promote my infiltrator. I know that when I got on last night, a little after 8pm cst (6pm pst), the banshee's were already spawning with other enemies so I'm hoping it was fine. Sucks that we don't get the splash screen on PS3 though. Hopefully they figure out a fix or something. On the official web site you can find the promo announcement with the times after every promo announcement. There is a link on the top of this site. Might help in the future.

Wasn't trying to get snarky. It was clearly a joke about the rocket science thing.
The Operation Announcement gave a time, "Operation SHIELDWALL, beginning this Friday, May 25 at 6:00PM PT until
Sunday, May 27 at 5:00PM PT, on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC" PT being Pacific (Standard) Time would be easy to translate to your local time.
Seriously though if the Operation means that much to you then why wouldn't you wait until Saturday? I mean the dead center of the weekend is definitely going to be in the op right?

They will count, and it was stated as such at the bottom of the event announcement page on the BioWare blog.
"Please note that due to a known issue, PlayStation 3 users will not see
the promotion screen but they will be participating in Operation
SHIELDWALL and will be rewarded."

if you get a goal like "promote 3 chars", where you can do the work ahead of the actual weekend, wait until its saturday morning and you get up to take your morning dump, take a shower and THEN promote your chars... simple rule, never fails (unless of course your time zone is even further east than CET then you might want to wait till afternoon, or till you see that screen...)
what the hell is so difficult about that?
since these promotions started, the start/endpoint have always been placed inconviniently for eu citizens, but CONSTANT, check once, what the correct start time is, choose an easy to remember cutoff point from which on you can start or write it down, no more problems.....

If you are suggesting an announcement on another website, I again ask, why can that information not be posted on this website? You also simply dodge the point I made on Abraham_uk's behalf: there is no reason that anyone should have to wait a day to promote their characters when the dates clearly say May 25 to May 27. Nowhere in the announcement does it suggest that if you happen to not live on the west coast of North America, you might want to wait a day just to be sure. There is no excuse for not having start times listed in this thread. I understand the idea behind your suggestion, but you're simply making an excuse for Bioware's poor communication on this particular website.
