Yeah, it's easy to say "oh just check blogs or ME3 site," but I'm an Xbox player, I just hop on the couch, play when I can, and then wife+2kids. I don't play the game, and then get on my PC upstairs to look stuff up about the Xbox game.

I don't recall the 5pm thing being on the main splash screen, I'll be kicking myself in the butt if it was, but yeah, I just assumed it would be like every single other operation.

Man, promoted 2 on saturday, then my 3rd on sunday at 10pm Central. Blarg.

Well I got it from here:

http://blog.bioware....wall/#more-4591

"Welcome to the next N7 Weekend Operation, Operation SHIELDWALL,
beginning this Friday, May 25 at 6:00PM PT until Sunday, May 27 at
5:00PM PT
, on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. Please remember to set the
“Upload Gameplay Feedback” setting to “On” in the online options to be
able to participate in this N7 Operation."

I reeeeally hope that's wrong. Ugh.

Me too, because I'm not sure if I promoted my 3rd before or after 5pm PST. =/

Did Operation Shieldwall really end yesterday or is it still going? I just played 2 games, one of them against Cerberus and there were Banshees in it.

Also, Operation Silencer ended on a Monday evening, so maybe there was a typo on this one?

Yeah, I would certainly like to know why the Banshees are still playing if the weekend is over....I just played 6 games against Banshee spawning with all enemies.Image IPB

And where did this announcement come in?  I promoted three different characters (different classes each), but got no message.

Hey Bioware, it's nice to know events are going on but would you mind also putting GMT on there too?

It would be much appreciated!

I was thinking the same thing. Even Americans have to take into account the time zone differences, so yeah it would be quite helpful.

Wouldn't be nice if there was a magical way to look up conversion information and other useful facts?

I wonder what it could be called...innerwebs,  um...not quite right, I'll think about it some more.

Wouldn't it be nice if you found a way to not be an ass?

I don't even know what time zone Bioware works with, so that makes your suggestion pretty pointless doesn't?

It's a joke man.  Lighten up.  :P  Also, the times are posted in Pacific time, that's what the PT stands for.  If you need a city to base it on you can go with say: San Francisco, California, USA

this site works rather well from what I can tell.

In relation to the volume of players on all the platforms, this was a relatively easy goal to accomplish. If everyone promoted 3 characters, even just on Xbox, there would be an excess of over 600,000 promotions. If we didn't succeed in this Operation, i'm moving off of Earth.

BioWare, it would be useful for all if you had a operation start and end clock viewed from the Multiplayer Menu.. just sayin..tc

Why do we go through this every time there's an event? For crap sake, do 20 seconds of research and you're done. It would have taken most of you less time to look up the times/dates on the blog or the Pacific Time to GMT conversion than it takes to come on the BSN Forums to post a message about it. Here:

Daylight Savings Time (PDT or PT) is -7:00 GMT

Standard Time (PST) is -8:00 GMT

And no, Bioware isn't on Pacific Time. They're in MDT (-6:00 GMT). Know how I know? I looked it up.

Seriously, does everything have to be spoon-fed to people these days? Take responsibility for your own crap.

Call me a noob, but how do I claim my victory pack? I got a message saying the operation was a success and a victory pack would be available in the store, but then I went to the store and it wasn't there.

Samething with me except I didnt get a message.

Yeah, I didn't get a message either.

remember that they have a massive DLC and patch coming out on Tuesday. They probably ended it early so they can get the commendation packs out early

They went ahead and made the decision to extend the time through 5am PT so everyone who got it in on Sunday night gets it too.

Count me among those who tried for the squad goal and didn't make the May 27 5pm pacific deadline posted on the blog and never offically updated by Bioware. I had 3 I could have promoted before the updated deadline but had no idea the deadline had been changed until I saw a link to this post. Yes, i did keep checking the blog after the deadline and saw no update there. I play on xbox 360 and there was absolutely no info there. Very disappointing. I know it's not a big deal in the grand scheme, but when I decide to participate I really go for it. I had promoted all my toons right before the promotion and had to start practically from scratch. I was really disappointed when I didn't make the deadline. Now I am doubly disappointed to find out that I could have succeeded but for lack of correct information from Bioware :/ Now I am wondering if I should go ahead and promote them now and hope for the best as they were all lvl 20 before the new deadline.

Tuesday evening or sometime Wednesday, depending on how fast they get them all rolled out.  The victory pack will probably come out first, and the other a bit later.

Whoever up there said a rolling clock on the MP screen has the right idea! Plus a countdown to when the op will start as well (all on the Mp screen). It's not about being spoon fed, it's about jumping through hoops when all you want to do is have a quick blast online without having to nip onto the internet to check time differences or when an op starts. The game connects to EA servers whenever I start the game up so an announcement along the bottom like ME 2 would do me fine.
