BioWare has thrown down the gauntlet, teasing us for failing to kill 3 million banshees. I'll admit, I didn't focus on this past operation as seriously as I did the others, so they really made this failure feel like a personal wake-up slap, albeit incidentally. Well, I'm banshee hunting this weekend, damnit!!!

it only counts as one. 

Wrong 1 class counts as 5 characters. soilders has 6 if u have battlefield. they do have to be unlcoked tho

I'm not sure if you participated in the second weekend event, but I did, and they said the exact same thing. He said promote "two characters" and people were confused (as they are now.) He then clearified on the thread that that actually meant two seperate classes. This is the exact same thing. If you don't believe me, message him.

I can't believe how many ppl are posting in here like hitting lvl 20 is just sooo hard. "omg noooo, I don't wanna promote. getting an n7 weapon just isn't worth it."

Heres a funny, The people who think promoting ONE class/Adept = 5 Characters are not only brain dead, they think that if they promote more than THREE Characters they will get more packs.
Easy to find hackers when they post stupid comments.

Lets clear things up. To earn a Com Pack, You will need to Promote Three classes, IE Adept/Soilder/Engenier. Each class is ONE Piont, you need Three Pionts/Chars promoted.

After that, play bronze, level up, buy some PSP to get stupid Gold Training cards to level up agian, then save for more PSP until the DLC comes out on the 29. WAIT for the game to tell you, There is now a chance to find new Weapons, Chars, and equipment in the packs before buying.

Well... seeing as how I've flat out refused to promote any of my characters - no real point in doing so aside from an N7 a few assets for SP (something I don't want) - I wish the community good luck, and pray hope you guys hit the 50K target.

I'll third that sentiment. I don't want repated MP promotions locking me out of SP endings (particularly the ones that only show up with low EMS). Until there's a way to promote without it permanently counting towards MS, I'm not promoting any characters (or contributing any Cerberus Intelligence from ME: Infiltrator).

And for those who say to just play "offline:" I tried that on my XBox 360. I just got forever stuck at the front menu with a "Checking downloadable content..." message. Plus then I'd be stuck with a readiness of 50%, which would make it harder to see the endings that require a mid-range EMS.

Sweet, I have like 4-5 classes at 18-19 from all those damn character cards and exclusively playing with infiltrator to buy packs. Guess it's time to cash in some of those chips.

Idk why people come in to these forums that announce the new MP challenge and just **** about it. If you're so annoyed with the challenges quit spewing your negativity all over the people who actually enjoy doing them. So what if each challenge isn't some epic masterpiece, they're meant to be fun and to give us something to do.Anyways, I'm totally promoting all my classes to help get the community goal.

re-leveling a class i find a breeze. i dont know what ppl are complaining about.

from the start how i played was level'd all to lvl16 and did not buy any packs untill all hit 20 then promoted all, then buy a heap of packs which lvl'd all toons a few lvls and saved me some time.

the last time i promoted i had over 2million credits and bought a heap of premium spectre packs. after all the character cards my toons ended up:

adept - 18
soldier - 16
engineer - 14
sentinal - 18
infiltrator - 12
vangaurd - 18

saved me a ****load of time in prep for the weekends festivities

I've stopped promoting my characters on purpose.

Promoting has three effects: It resets every character in the class, which given that I had them set up the way I wanted them is just annoying. It also increases my N7 rating, which I couldn't possibly care about less if I tried. Thirdly, it increases the value of (and makes no other changes to) the SP War Asset, which at 450 is already larger than most of my allied fleets.

So I'm thinking I'll participate but...for ghu's sake, why not do something about MP rewards so you don't have to bribe us with Commendation Packs to get us to promote characters so that we'll care even slightly about XP?

I'm almost tempted to just sit it out though. I like my characters the way they are, 450 is already excessive. 300 is a nice round number. And failing these challenges is actually more interesting than succeeding at them.

That's partially correct. If you promote 3 soldiers for instance a human, a krogan and a batarian you are ok. Also if you promote 3 adepts, no matter the race, you are ok. If you promote a salarian infiltrator, a quarian engineer and a human soldier you are fine too.
I asked Priestley for this and the things are as i said above.

sorry, but when you promote a class it promotes all 5  variations(6 for soldiers if u have the bf3 soldier) of that class (or as many/few as u have unlocked.) there is no way to promote individual variations within the class and keep the others at 20, it is all or none.

Priestley probably meant you promote 1 soldier, then get it back to lev20, promote again, and then back to lev20 and promote a third time.

Sounds to me like he misinterpreted the answer. The game automatically resets ALL characters in a class once that class is promoted. That is, If you promote a Male Human Adept, your asari, drell, female human, AND justicar all get reset. Sure you can level them back up to promote them again, but who'd want to do that?

Might as well just promote three different classes. It's not THAT painful to level them back up, especially since you know how the game works already.
