I'm going on a date with someone for the first time tonight, it's kind of a blind date and it's kind of professional (business), but it's also kind of not.  I am going to meet her at the St. Louis Bread Company tonight.  Should I dress casual or fancy?  Should I bring flowers?  What should I do?  I know very little about this girl (other than that she is young a college student, she is hot [according to my uncle], she's German [or atleast she speaks German], and my uncle knows her).

I am German. I guess maybe she'd find it cute if you said something in German to her. Should I translate something for you? images/forum/emoticons/sideways.png

Hehe - def off topic material.

Dress casual unless there is a dress code.

Shower & so on before going in..

Skip the flowers on first meeting - might look too enthusiastic

Try Alistair advancement - let your self be silly a bit not too much and well as he said

I was raised to be or at least try to be a gentleman.

Good luck.

Well, dressy casual. Don't wear skanky jeans and stained t-shirt. ;) You probably don't need that bit of advice, but one never knows.

The bit of German idea is lovely.

Def. shower.

No flowers, as this isn't a date date where you've known her for a bit and asked her out.

Relax, enjoy yourself, ask questions about herself but don't get stalkerish.

I don't think I'd think more of a person just because they made an attempt at a language that they neither understand nor pronounciate correctly.
You could try "Ich bin ein Berliner" for comedic effect, of course. ^_^

Or casually mention that you dislike jews. That's got to make an impression!

But seriously, German girls are as diverse as girls from other countries (or so I've heard), so it'd probably be best to just go in open mindedly, with sharpened wit and a winning smile (as per usual agenda).

Ok, this is getting ridiculous.

He's either a really persistent troll or he's using this forum as some sort of blog.

With my high school german skills, I can successfuly determine that that does not say "you're a lovely sweet maiden."  lol

This does seem like one of the few threads by this guy worth reading.  Seems like he would at least post in his own thread if he weren't a troll...

Does he even respond to his topics? He doesn't seem to be talking to anyone. He even has his own message board where he has over 500 posts talking to himself, being the only member there. And over half his posts here are advertising for it and other random sites. Surprised that the mods haven't done anything with him.

I do have to wonder. The sad thing is that some of his posts make quite good discussion topics, but his own lack of participation in them kind of renders the whole point moot. I for one would have liked to continue conversing with him about numismatics and American history (since he made a very detailed post about various coins and currencies that could be used in the USA today), but the surprising lack of feedback - given how much effort he'd obviously put into the original post - was a damper. kevin1gamer: If you're reading this, apologies for referring to you in the third-person, but a sense of disengagement will give that impression.

Anyone with the ban stick is all knowing Image IPB

Anyway it seems like he is using this as a blog rather than trolling, and he never seems ro respond. Which is weird considering the Social site has an area for blogs Image IPB, but really doesn't hurt anyone.

Seems like he was only on the old forum for a couple months before everyone came here.  And is he even reading this?
