Even in the deleted scene, you don't actually see her dead.
Liara is guaranteed to survive into ME3 only because she wasn't a squadmate in ME2. ME2 is the only game in the series where every squadmate is a potential casualty.
Liara's survivability is ironically linked more to Tali and Garrus' popularity after ME1. Following the release of that game, Team Dextro had large and extremely vocal fanbases that demanded that they return as squadmates in ME2, and that they return as romance options. Well, those fans get their wish on both counts.
Of course the drawback to being on the team in ME2 is that there is a possibility of being killed in the suicide mission. Team Dextro getting in the game also guaranteed that Ashley, the VS, and Wrex would not, since Bioware planned on benching the ME1 squad for that game.
Come to think of it - Liara is forced on you romantically.
Liara is no more forced on the player than any other romantic option.
As an example, Shepard can try to let Tali down easy when she expresses an interest in him, by saying it is too dangerous and he wouldn't want to risk her life. She responds by saying, "Oh, but you are interested?!" And then in the next conversation she will demand that Shepard dump either Jack or Miranda, if he is pursuing either one.
Likewise being nice to Jack triggers multiple lines where she'll assume Shepard is either interested in her sexually or romantically. "Is this about sex, Shepard? Because if it is maybe you should just f---ing say so." Or, "Are you eyeing me up Shepard?"
Both characters assume that Shepard being nice to them means he wants to sleep with them, and Tali assumes she is locked into a relationship even when Shepard says, "No, it is too dangerous."

I must admit I wasn't exactly pleased over the inclusion of Joker and Anderson in those either. If they have any sense, they'll just remove that whole dreadful thing altogether. My Shepard plans on surviving, so he doesn't need a flashback anyway.Bocks wrote...

I actually thought Tali and Garrus should be in the flashback regardless since they are with you all three games.....it just seemed odd my Shepard didn't think of his best friends. Although I do agree, my Shepard is living so he doesn't need a flashback

How is Liara NOT forced? More than any other character, she shows up all the time and you can't brush her off no matter what you do. Most cutscenes involve Liara tripping on Shepard's heels, or waiting outside his door, or some other excuse that has Liara pushed in our faces. She is required on more missions than any other character. Don't tell me that she's needed to accompany Shepard on Eden Prime because she could've easily of done her job over the radio. All she had to do was instruct Shepard.
Not to mention, she takes up your ME2 love interests flashback photo EVEN IF you turn her down. I’d say that fits the definition of ‘forced on meh’ romantically.
I used to like Liara, but she's gotten so much focus over other characters it has just become annoying.

It doesn't really matter if they're dead or not - it's a flashback. But you're right. Bioware didn't want to make the effort with the other characters... so guess what? Let's just stick Liara in there! AGAIN, AND AGAIN, AND AGAIN.
At least I didn't get her in my flashback photo, but I feel bad for those that did.

Nope, there are flashbacks for Anderson, Ash, Kaidan, Joker and Liara. AFAIK you always get Anderson and Joker, you get Ash/Kaidan if they're your LI, if it's anyone else you get Liara.

Yep, you can't hide she's Bioware's favourite romance
Liaras Body was most likely still laying around since ME1. Updating a 3d Object for a new engine isn't as much work as doing it from scratch. As for the "the only one that is nude" aspect.. well, she is the only one that had a nude body already available (and i wouldn't say her being shown Nude adds anything to the whole thing - You obviously have the internet, so you should have much more easier access to nude women, including aliens, mutants, supernatural creatures)
And i couldn't say she pushs herself more on Shepard as does about every other Love Interest. Her "love" for Shepard has to be strong, otherwise she wouldn't have been the one to search his corpse, join forces with the shadowbroker and cerberus to get you "revived".. that alone has to make a little more obsessive than the rest.
As you guys might recall, the rest had given up on Shepard. That doesn't turn her into the LI of choice, it just makes her more invested in Shepard. Some of her remarks show that she loves and cares for him. And seriously... its a bit odd when people with a more aggressive or obsessive personality simply back off when told no. They certainly don't do in reallife. Even the passive and shy ones usually tend to try being availble or have a hard time surpressing their feelings after being told no.
Liara only approached me once about her feelings for my Shepard, despite them having been a LI. After that she didn't push herself onto me, she was just a heartbroken woman that still cared alot.
But yeah... i admit.. out of the whole LI pool, she is probably the only LI that isn't a robot when it comes to being told "no".
Ashley was nude in ME1 as well, but not in ME3.

Bioware sexed Ash up, gave her a new figure and these huge boobs twice as big as they were in ME1/ME2 (

Bioware sexed Ash up, gave her a new figure and these huge boobs twice as big as they were in ME1/ME2 (). Then when the romance scene rolls around they stick her in the default femShep body, while Liara gets her own unique one.
And Liara has bigger boobs in ME3 as well.

its not like just because shepard choose ashley doesnt mean liara STOPS having feelings for shepard. her feelings are all asari-super-feelings too so it might be a little hard for her to mind meld out of it. its kindof more realistic to how i see relationships.

Liara having a large role in the story in no way makes her the canon or 'preferred' LI. The very notion that every single writer that worked on Mass Effect prefers Liara, or chooses her as their canon romance option if they play the game, is fairly ridiculous.
Really all these types of threads boil down to is butthurt fans of the other LIs complaining that their particular favorite romance option couldn't be subsituted into the cutscenes involving Liara. But in no work of fiction does every character have the same level of plot importance, and in no work of fiction are major characters interchangeable.
Not to mention, she takes up your ME2 love interests flashback photo EVEN IF you turn her down. I’d say that fits the definition of ‘forced on meh’ romantically.
I think that is due more to the ending being rushed than any concious decision on the part of the dev team to make Liara a canon romance. They ran out of time or resources to make cutscenes for every romanceable character so they used the one that is guaranteed to be alive in ME3. While people have a legit complaint about the rushed ending, they are tilting at windmills when they accuse Bioware of favoring Liara.
I used to like Liara, but she's gotten so much focus over other characters it has just become annoying.
Liara has a lot of content in ME3, but in ME2 she only had a small and very disappointing cameo. I think it is hard to accuse her of being writer's pet, considering the tiny role she had in ME2 before DLC.
She may have later returned in a starring role in LotSB, but that was in large part due to a large number of fans complaining about Liara's role in Mass Effect 2.
Going into ME3, it would have made sense to devote a lot of time and resources to Liara considering the popularity of LotSB and the character, and because she was guaranteed to be alive going into ME3.
As I noted earlier, Liara surviving into ME3 is due more to Tali & Garrus' popularity following Mass Effect 1 than any decision on the part of the writers to favor Liara. By campaigning to get Tali & Garrus into ME2 and to have them as romance options, their fans all but guaranteed that Liara, the VS and Wrex would sit on the sidelines. Fan service decided which ME1 squadmates would return in ME2, which also had an effect on who was guaranteed to survive into ME3.

I'm not making any excuses for Bioware.
The evidence points to the entire ending being rushed however, and not just that flashback cutscene. People who think that it is some sort of conspiracy on the part of the devs to annoint Liara the canon romance need to remove their tinfoil hats.
