Topic says it all. Haven't played DA2 on that system in a long while. Major change that occurred on that system from when everything worked fine was an upgrade from a GTX 280 to a GTX 295.

If I disable SSAO the game loads and plays fine. Enabling SSAO, the game loads and begins the bioware intro video, right after that I see a gradiated green screen- task switching to desktop shows Dragon Age has stopped working. In fact, if I'm get in game where it's running fight (with SSAO unchecked), then check it, and it OK, it's fine until I hit RESUME, then it green screens.

So odd.

Computer is an I7, Win7 64 Bit, running 301.42 nvidia drivers. DA2 is patched to 1.04

Any ideas?

Same problem. After updating the nvidia driver, enabling of SSAO causes an error. Don't know how to fix it :-(

Interesting. Perhaps I'll dial the driver back to the beta 301.24-- see if it helps.

Other point of interest, I have another I7 system with a GTX 580 running the latest 301.42 drivers and SSAO does not crash the game on that system.

It really is an odd thing-- turning on a single feature (that worked fine up to that point) causes the game to crash. Haven't seen such a behavior in a very long while.

A GTX 295 is a two-core card. It has to use SLI to put both cores to work, but SLI is a problematic function, and many driver versions are less than reliable for use with SLI.

In your case, it's so simple I don't really know why you came here to ask us.

Uninstall the bad driver and reload the driver that was working before.

Less so with major titles, but sometimes true.

In this case, however, it was something I had checked by forcing off SLI through n-inspector.
