Ok tender hearts, what was your hardest LI rejection

Never called off a romance, dealt with Kaidan's advances in ME1 by throwing him at a nuke and running away with Liara and just avoided talking to anyone I didn't want to romance in ME2. But my boyfriend's Femshep broke up with Garrus right before the suicide mission. Left him standing there, bottle of booze in hand and an expression of what I can only guess was sadness, it's hard to tell with the mandibles. HOW COULD HE.

I never did this but it is by far the worst LI rejection I have ever seen. I watched someone dump Thane at Huerta after he acts all excited to see Shep and tells her basically his health is really bad. I got tears in my eyes just watching it. How could you just dump your dying LI like that? Ouch.

Give the guy some happiness before he dies and Kaidan will be waiting for you after anyway.

Whether you want him to or not...

And yeah, could never do that myself.

It was obvious how romances were set up in ME3 so I preempted any awkwardness by immediately going to Liara on The Citadel. The rejection dialog options didn't pop up for anyone else afterwards. On my second playthrough, I intentionally went to Kaidan first just to reject him because I despise him for hassling Shep in ME2 on Horizon and then questioning her on Mars in front another subordinate. Now that I know I can actually kill him in ME3, he's gonna get rejected with a bullet next time around.

I also appreciate Bioware making Traynor and Allers the designated f-buddies. You can lay one of them Shepard's cabin and then immediately go to The Citadel and romance someone else. And neither of them ever gives Shepard a hard time about it. Those scenes in Shepard's room were classy yet so sleazy at the same time. Shep showed some real player's moves there.

Doesn't Allers auto-lock you out of romance progression if you hook up with her?  I...don't know who would do that, though.

Any form of turning Thane or Garrus down should make you feel like a bad person.

IF YOU DIDN'T WANT IT, DON'T ROMANCE THE BEST LOVE INTERESTS.

Telling Liara that i was still romantically involved with Miranda after she had asked me if i still wanted another shot with her. I kindly said no.....but still, a part of me always liked Liara though.

This is the same case with me but I was with Tali instead of Miranda.

I absolutely cannot turn down Garrus when he shows up for our date in ME2.  I only ever read a description of what happens, and even *that* makes my heart start to crack in two.
I heard Jack's is pretty bad, though.
Having said all that, I broke it off with Thane on my first PT, so I could go with Garrus instead...she said something like "I could never love a dying man", and the interminable silence between when I told him, and when he let me off the hook, it was...I was lying awake in bed feeling guilty for an hour that night.  :crying:

Breaking up with Miranda in ME3 is absolutely heart wrenching. I force quit and restarted that save.

In all seriousness, rejecting Kaidan was a tough one. Felt a little like kicking a puppy down a flight of stairs.

I remember playing as a FemShep interested in Liara. You get to shoot him down and it's his own fault. He states something about Liara being nice and you can go "I saw her first!!!". He's like oh, right your gay...end of interest lol.

If only the rest were so easy to snub. All those awkward conversations...

Miranda in ME3 I had no intention of continuing the romance and when I decided to end it I didn't expect her to cry like I would with Jack or Tali. I have to say it made me feel like a dick you'd have to be made of stone to not be affected by that scene.

The only person I had to turn down was Kaidan and I don't feel bad about it at all.

But Joker? Why won't you love me, Jeff?

Well not many LI ask you, usually its Shepard who do that.
But would be Tali, but i dont do things like that.

Jack was bit weirdo, i wanted to know more about her story and suddenly it was all about making sex with her, whata? i just want to be friend and not your boyfriend. I think it was bit badly written that scene where you need to choose. Why she gets angry if i just want to be friend? Makes no sence

It was easy to turn Liara down in ME1, im not living artifact. ME2 dlc/ME3 it was harder because game was whispering me all the time: you doing it wrong

Is there any other who wants to be with Shepard in that way? I mean when they try ask about it. I have no idea who male character tries female Shepard

What kind of ***hole do you have to be to mess around with people like that?

I had one LI.

ONE.

I have only one canon LI; everything else is "exploring dialogue options". :innocent:

Really, people, you have no idea what you are talking about
Kaidan, Liara, Jack, Traynor all come at you ripping their clothes off if you are slightly nice to them

I never properly rejected an LI in my playthroughs, but in my original playthrough of ME1 and 2, I romanced Liara in 1 and then went on to romance Garrus in 2.

Then I went up to Shepard's cabin to review some files and noticed that Shepard had, off-screen, turned Liara's portrait on her desk face-down. Hit me right in the heart!

I had to go back 2 hours to an old save-file to remedy my mistake.

The crying is pretty bad, but what's worse is if you break up with Miranda at this point, she will die on Horizon regardless of warning her about Kai-Leng and doing her loyalty mission. Well, I read about this anyways; don't have the heart to do a playthrough to test it.
