I wasn't here for the Mass Effect 3 release...was there a lot of locked threads and bans then? I remember reading an article from Forbes on how the forums were "on fire"...

For the most part I'm not a very well known poster, and when I do it's either silly random nonsense or a few posts I actually put effort into.

But there has been at least one occasion where I'm surprised I didn't get a temp ban. The poster really got me angry and I exploded on the thread. Not happy that I did, but I guess I was lucky and flew under the radar that time.

Locked threads, suspended members, the whole nine.

Mainly though the "on fire" comment referred to just how many livid people there were. Livid due to the endings, so there were tons of threads referring to just that.

For awhile the post frequency was high with all threads on the first page having a latest post of 1 minute or less. Was that more than the mods can handle at once?

There aren't enough mods, and the mod selection process is a strict one.

If you've been suspended before(as I and many others have) or have a not very positive attitude/behavior on here, you're pretty much exempt and likely on a list of forumites who will never become mods.

Not that that should be an issue to us, as I've had friends as mods here and all of them have discussed that the burden is a bit of an issue.

Though it'd be nice if we had more moderators. Clean this boards up a bit. There's a lot of stuff that never gets noticed by the mods because either no one reports it to them directly(via PMs) or they just didn't stumble across it themselves.

We as forum members need to help them do their thing.

hmm now when you say it yes i read too fast there but still encourage others  to get banned because it's delicious smart move doesn't sound especially intelligent with the new rules even if it was a joke.

Once. I got into a decent flame war with some dude over consoles vs. PC. Stan stepped in and we both got a 24 hour. I've been skirting the law ever since.

Been banned I guess arounnd 3-4 times now... 24 Hour each. Mostly Stan who bans me but one time time I think was community moderator not a developer who did it. Reasons were bickering x 3 and spam x 1 (posting pictures instead of words in one thread).

I THINK, I said some really nasty stuff but .. It`s really how you write them. The trick is not to sound like a whiner but like you have a point. That years of practice on the VN board (daoc) when I used to get banned each week.

I just think BioWare MODS are stronger  reader and apt at reading between the line and can see the difference between a joker(ME) and a troll. On VN some mods hated /despised me. My english was so poor by back than.

If you`re not a hater ... You have less chance to get banned. Sometime though it`s hard  to figure someone intention on the internet. Like i said , BioWare mods seem good at it.

He was simple the single most funny person on BSN. He was a beacon of light in the dark weeks that followed after March 6. He got perma-banned for simply being too awesome for this forum.
