And this is exactly the kind of attitude which makes people vote for charcters purely out of spite. It's unnecessary and unhelpful.

Which is why i think both Tali and Liara just need to be removed. Sad that alot of the Talimancers and Liarafans can't stay civil, isn't it?

Well, looking around I can see far far more outspoken and aggressive Liara haters than any other demographic here. I can't see as many Liaramancers getting so verbally aggressive over the poll...

But yes, I think that both Liara and Tali need to be removed from the poll. It should help stem the tide of hate from both sides for now.

No, Tali was around Miranda-level of votes before she started getting around one a minute. It's not unfounded at all.

Well, I did arrive late so I cannot tell what it was like before that.

But you cannot just claim that without any substantiating evidence. Just because it was low to begin with doesn't mean that the increase wasn't simply due to an increase of people voting for Tali.

As I recall it it was Liara/James who were leading the vote. I wouldn't airlock neither of the two, but Tali got her votes in extremely short time, and Liara thread is mute about the poll, so I assumed a small number of dumb people spamming accounts and voting Tali madly.

Honestly, posting "LIARA MUST GO DOWNNN!!!!!!" here is less 'uncivil' than spoiling the whole game.

I don't know. It was some Liara supporter that rigged the votes, and chose Tali to be the one to screw over. There might be some hidden connection there that triggered Tali fans and not others to react negaatively to the cheating.

I don't like how you associate Liara followers with Tali followers. It almost sounds as if you're fine with Liara being removed so long Tali is as well.

Not like this silly poll matters, but at least we saw who was gonna be kicked out the airlock next, and who cheated in a desperate attempt to prevent it.



PS: Tali was never neck-to-neck in the votes with Liara. It was Liara 50ish, James 50ish, Tali/Zaeed/Samara/few others 10-15. Then the cheating happened.

1) If you can indeed prove that somebody is spoiling the game (however I agree it is very likely).
2) You cannot tell what opinion the 'spoiler' has on the characters. All we know is that there was a sharp increase of Tali votes and James votes whilst Liara remained relatively lower.
3) I disagree. I find some of the things being said about Liara much more uncivilised and downright rude to her fans than the poll-rigging.

I remember when I checked in earlier, Liara and James both had over 40 votes each whilst Tali only had 7.

About 4 hours later James and Liara barely get an increase, whilst Tali leaps up 50 votes.

Sigh. Point = missed.

You can't deny that many Talimancers here are being just as spiteful. In any case both Liara and Tali have a large number of avid fans and haters simultaneously. It's just natural that such loved and such hated characters would cause disruption in the polls and removing both of them would help somewhat.

Otherwise next round we could get the same spike in votes out of nowhere for Tali.

Because some Liara butthurt fan thought he couldn't live if Liara was kicked off the ship before Tali. Tali or Tali's fans did nothing but being victim of a scam. Now some Liara defenders want to sell that Tali's fans are awful because they reacted negatively to it.

It's as if I shoot you in the eyes and then I blame you that you're being really noisy and insulting me over it and the one doing it wrong is you. Seriously.

The dimension of this poll is stupidly insignificant, but it still says much of certain individuals/groups.

2) simple deduction. Liara is outside the contest -> pick place 2 and 3 and outvote Liara. So it's a Liara supporter.
3) spoiling the game for people who dgaf about Liara/Tali is quite rude. An attack on the character is not an attack on their supporters. If someone says "F*CK YOU LETTUCE I HATE YOU F*CKING LEAFY PIECE OF S**T CARROT IS THE ONLY VEGGIE!!!" I'm not offended, even if I happen to like lettuce. If someone calls ME a dick because I eat lettuce - then you're right, its far more offensive. 

Spoiling the game because "if my favorite character is out, nobody should play" is rude, childish and egoistic.

I don't deny that ruining the vote is stupid, selfish and childish.

But you just have to scroll up a bit to see the amount of times 'butthurt Liara fans' is said. As much as insulting a character is not a direct personal attack on the fans it is still an indirect attack. If you support a particular football club and somebody is ridiculously rude about it you will probably become a bit, if not very, defensive about it and your support. Lettuce is a bit of a poor analogy because not very many peoiple feel as passionately about lettuce as they do the characters...

More often than not, attacks on the characters leads to an attack on the fans.
