 - They actually had voice command or kinect in ME3? Image IPB

That is the most seriously permabannable I would have ever heard of, if it wasn't for the ME3 end.

- Total waste of resources! Total waste! Poured on the ground! Flushed down the toilet!

- A worse game guaranteed!

Microsoft is pimping the Kinect so hard by paying developers to put Kinect in there. Meaning they do not only pay for Kinect to be implemented, the developer actually gets more money to spend on other parts of the project afterwards. At least that's how I've come to understand how Microsoft is getting so many devs to slap on the kinect lately.

I don't even own a kinect but I wouldn't be so quick to think of it as a sign of the apocalypse. It's incredibly gimmicky, but it doesn't really hurt.
EDIT: Aside from the ugly purple "kinect" logo on the boxart. But eh, I have a hard time believing most people would care that much x)

I don't want Kinect. It seems another gimmick this game doesn't need.

Oh that would be a laugh a f*cking minute wouldnt it.

How to make your game a laughing stock before it comes out? The kinect! Honestly it will be a stupid move on Bioware's part. They shouldnt need a stupid gimmick! Rely on the story telling, the characters the combat.

Seems like I'm the only one who likes the kinect here... people keep referring to it as a gimmick but it's been far too successful to be treated as such. I'll admit that the body tracking isn't as accurate as it should be sometimes, but as far as voice commands go (which is what I'd assume they'd put in DA3) it's pretty slick. Not having to go to the wheel every time you wanted to use an ability that wasn't hot-keyed really kept up the pace in ME3 (but I still used the buttons in conversation)

KINECT IS THE FUTURE!

It works with very simple games. That's it. Move is way better, but Kinect has the advantage of not having something your kids can throw through the TV.

A big pay off cheque will change EA's mind.

I don't really get the Kinect Thing...
I mean i picture myself screaming at my screen and my neighbours wondering if i just lost it or something...
As for the movement part , i guess it's a bit like the Wii?(it's been ages since i touch a console i 'm a pc player).I did play wii once and it just make me laugh like a maniac .
I guess it's fine with dancing games and the likes , but i'm not sure i could play a serious game with something like this.

It's good for kids. It's far too inacurate for any sort of real gaming though.

Latest move game is called Sorcery and you use the controller just like the magic wand. Got it for the kids, but well umm it's pretty good...Image IPB

Move is similiar to Wii but tracks with a camera rather than sensor bar.

Movement tracking isn't that good for serious games but the voice regognition is great- I love being able to go through everything on my xbox dashboard without having to even connect my controller.

Which makes it a glorified microphone.

Wait a second, it just occurred to me why someone would want kinect.  It's for the romance scenes with the LI's and hookers!!   Image IPB

Bioware already showed us in DA2 that limited resources means cutting corners. The Kinect is a featurre that would likely cost considerable zots that I think could be much more well-spent elsewhere. Like on more companion dialogue, or more in-depth side quests instead of fetch quests. Or just about anything else, even MP as I would actually try that.

I'm with you WIndninja.

I don't want to see DA3 with any Kinnect support, but the Kinnect in-and-of itself is a great machine. It certainly has a niche set of games it excels at while lacking strongly in others... but honestly, doesn't the PC and the console as well? RTS games are naturally suited to a PC and more difficult to pull off on a console. Shooters are naturally more adapted to be played with a controller than with something like the Kinnect. Playing a game like Soduko would be tedious on a console, but it is a great way to kill time on a mobile device.

An exercise game is difficult, if not pointless, to play on a PC or a console without a system like a Kinnect. Even systems like the Wii or the Move are incredibly easy to cheat or do improperly, if you don't do the right movements but the controller thinks you do. Yoga with the Your Shape Kinnect exercise game makes sure you are standing with the right posture, body extended and in the right direction, something even the best controller couldn't monitor.

If the only support a DA game gave the Kinnect was voice commands (like what ME3 had), then I don't have a problem with it, honestly. Its such a minimal amount of resources (for a minimal benefit, don't get me wrong) then it wouldn't be that big of a deal one way or the other.

All we need is voice command just like MassEffect3 and maybe add when we go into the inventory screen we can use the Kinect to change our characters clothes and weapons.

Kinect is never going to be what Microsoft had hoped for.
It's at best an addon for dance games and things like Kinect sports, which, for me, I'd rather take a real dance lesson or go to the gym.

Shooters are vastly better on PC, hence the aim assist "feature" added for consoles which use a controller.

Steel Battalion looks like a great game that was ruined by making it a kinect game.

Can't say I've ever seen an "aim assist feature" in a console shooter.

They crop up on lower difficulties or in the options menu. Used to use them a lot when I was transistioning from PC to console, now I don't need them. It's really just a case of familiarty a PC player trying to play a console FPS will try to play it like it's on a PC. Reverse is basically the same, sit someone in front of PC who's never used a mouse/keyboard for an FPS game and they will be all over the place.

After watching E3 Dragon Age 3 will need Kinect heck Splinter Cell will add it and that game was not on my list for games that need Kinect but i think that all Dragon Age 3 will need is voice commands very simple.

Developing anything for one platform--which not everyone on that platform itself is capable of using--and not the others is kind of a waste of resources.
