To be honest, I keep a healthy supply of poutices along with having one or two healing capable characters in my party. I have a main healer like Wynne and a back up with low level heal spells unlocked. Also, check and make sure that your front line characters have their tactics set up to auto heal when they get to a certain health level.

Neither do I . I bring along bottled healing (poultices)
