 So with E3 just around the corner, is there anything to hope for in terms of news about DA3, bearing in mind that PAX was little more than a month ago? I understand that there will be a significant EA presence, but are there going to be any BW teams there?
I realise that this might be just inviting wild speculation and wishful-thinking, but even so...

Wishful thinking? Okay- turns out that they have been perfecting dragon age 3 for the past 17 years and it is coming out tomorrow.

It might be announced at E3, but they are probably still working on most of the content. I don't know, that is my guess, but I am really not an expert in these sort of things. I do hope it will be announced at least.

Potentially an announcement that it'd be early to mid 2013 release, otherwise I'd half expect it to be delayed until the next gen consoles arrive.

Remains to be seen. DA2 was good enough warning of the new Bio´s "vision" for me so I did not buy ME3, which was a good decision (even I have been ME fan). Now I will just wait and see what they will make (if). Either way I have no problems about Bio games anymore. I´ll just lurk on these forums to see how it goes.

Since they've released the map we're looking at exploring for DAIII at Pax, I'm hoping for a bit of teaser information about the cultures we're visiting that we don't know much about (meaning everywhere on the proposed DAIII map that isn't Fereledan, the Free Marches, or Orlais).

Hopefully we'll see ME3 EC and DLC info, and some DA3 info. Hopefully, DA3 is more like DA2, so I can start my summer off with a good, hearty laugh at the haters.

That's one of the few things that would make me interested in playing a set protagonist, but I can totally understand why other people wouldn't care for it.  And, no matter how cool or intriguing a set character may be, at the end of the day I want more choices, not less.

If I were wishing for DA3 related news at E3, it would be for the return of player character origins.  But, that's not happening, and hopefully, DA3 isn't going to be announced this early.

My pick (for what little that is worth) is there won't be anything DA3 related. It's likely to be a damned if they do, damned if they don't situation. (Some) People will grumble and howl if there is no info, while a great many more are likely to cry out "It's being rushed! DA2 all over again!" or stuff to that effect. They'll probably opt for the position that "It is better to stay silent and be thought foolish, than to speak and remove all doubt".

How would we get our saves across from the old systems to the new? I'd assume this arc of the dragon age series to be over before the new consoles get out.

I would not expect the next game to be exactly like DA:2 if I were you. I also don't expect the game to be like Origins.

They are asking for feedback and that speaks volumes that they want to reunite all fan bases and not pander to one.

Unless EA is doing all the talking for them, don't hope on it. Bioware hasn't signed up for E3 this year

Eh... they can handle that via a mechanism that lets you pick your choices. After all, it would really only be choices from DA:O that would make a difference. I can think of maybe four or five choices in DA2 that really even matter one iota.

They are going to have to do it at some point for consoles. Might as well be after the installment in the series that had the smallest amount of choice to date?

I'd buy it. I understand that that's not the best way for Bioware to go. However, as a fan of Japanese made RPGs with set protagonists, that could be very cool. I'd love to control her as a character. That doesn't mean I want DA3 to be that way, but I wouldn't be against a game with her as the PC at all.

As to the main topic, at E3, I would be fine with anything except for an early 2013 release date. I truly expect Bioware's presence there though to revolve around ME3 EC, DLC and Command and Conquer Generals 2. So, if there is anything DA related, it will probably be (as another commenter stated) something like a short clip with a logo and/or a piece of artwork. That's about it that I could envision.

Agreed. And it scares me to see pople want it.  RPGS are not supposed to be that way.
