Have to say was gonna not romance a yoman after ME2, but liked Samantha's charachter straight off, so my FemShep romanced her in my single play through. Thought she was way better than Kelly, who was my romance in my first ME2 play.

the 4 male sheps i have do flirt with her...but most stick to their LI from ME1 or ME2. all my femsheps.......likes da womensesssss...or alien womenessss...so kelly...liara.....

I've always romanced Liara, but when the opportunity to jump in the shower with Traynor came up it was hard. I sat there hovering over the options thinking, would Liara find out? Is this worth it? How serious is this? Despite my personal dilemma, paragon Shepard had a quick word in my ear and reminded me of our perceived virtue. I didn't do it in the end and boy, am I glad.

Eleven reasons to like Kelly over Traynor:
1. Red hair.
2. Has respect for your work - says the saving the galaxy needs to come first before you both have time for romance.
3. Has an emotional response to the crisis.
4. Is caring about other people - puts all her time into helping refugees.
5. Is a good dancer.
6. Kept your fish alive for 6 months while you were grounded.
7. Tried to save Space Hamster - cares for animals.
8. Has large green eyes.
9. Has a real need for you and is appreciative - you save her life at least three times.
10. Provides a civilian perspective to a romance. Potentially the only romance who isn't a soldier of some sort? My Shepard enjoys a life outside the military.
11. Writes to you.
Kelly also has a more dedicated fanbase. In the 485 page LI tribute book being compiled, there are multiple Kelly letters and fanarts, but nothing done for Traynor. Probably a smaller fanbase, but more dedicated.

oh, uh hey lelianaHawke, still not mad at me for like Samantha a little more than Kelly? but i always thought that any romance with Kelly was just for fun, a fling. Sam seems more like a fast-paced lust turned emotional love .

It really comes down to how you interpret your Shepard's feelings. You're in control of how Shepard feels, not the game. I say my Shepard loves Kelly.
Besides, in ME3 the game does actually give you the chance to tell Kelly you love her.

I suppose its inevitable that people will compare Kelly and Traynor, they don't really have the same job but they have a similar role.
The thing I really liked about Kelly is that she's Mass Effect's Average Joe. Where everyone else is extraordinary (an expert or genius, etc) Kelly is just your nice secretary. She gets frightened, she's not a soldier or a scientist but she still wants to help and I think that's admirable. I find her easier to relate to than most of the characters.

Wasn't the suicide connected with Shepard being a royal dick to her when she confesses that she spied on you for TIM? If it's true, she must have felt tremendously guilty for unwittingly bertraying her friend/lover, as well as working for a horrible terrorist organization. Adding to the mental trauma she endured not only on the Collector ship, but during the coup where she got to see Cerberus' work first hand, is it really so strange that she just couldn't deal with it anymore? Shepard refusing to forgive her was probably the last straw. Poor girl.
Anyway. I adore them both. Kelly is a very sweet person and Samantha is the very definition of adorkable. She can beat me at chess anytime.

that was just the overall feel i got from the ME2 romance in ME 3 i feel that if Shepard "rekindles" the romance with Kelly that it is more persuing a real one with her.

just that i feel there was no real romance with Kelly in ME2 and if "rekindling" it with her in ME3 makes me feel like i actually am persuing a real one.
