So, I'm considering dusting off DA2 again and picking up the 2 campaign DLC's. Honestly though, $20 is a bit steep to drop all at once, so my question is, what all do you get with the DLC? Specifically;

Do you get starting game items just for downloading the DLC, ala DA:O Darkspawn Chronicles?

When is the story arch for the DLC unlocked/begin to make any difference in the vanilla story, ala Sabastian outside the chantry in act one with Exaulted Prince?

When the description for MotA says "Tallis, a new party member" does that mean she's unlocked for the rest of the story after you complete the DLC or do you never see her again afterward? (no spoilers please)

Any new party member characters for Legacy? If so, same question as above. (Again, please no spoilers)

Thanks in advance for any help and insight y'all can give!

I believe any equipment you get from the DLC's need to be found during that gameplay and then yes, you can wear it back into vanilla play. But I don't think any of it is an automatic inventory item just for downloading.

The two DLC's are kind of stand alone, but I and a lot of other BSN'ers agree that the best time to complete them is definitely not till at least Act 2... for Legacy I personally recommend not completing until finishing the quest "All That Remains" in Act 3, but that's my preference.

Tallis is only available in MotA. She doesn't come back with you for the events that take place in the rest of the game.

Nobody new in Legacy. Memorable NPC's, but not companions.

Hope that helps! I really enjoyed both DLC's and thought they were both worth the money.

They are both excellent quests and not little 10 minute jaunts. They are actual story quests along the lines of Warden's Keep rather than "have lootz for cash" DLC like Ostagar or the equipment packs.
