I was just wondering if there is any sort of timer in the game. For example, I had to start my game over and instead of getting the help of a certain group of people first, I started with a different group. Both times a certain spot on the map became over run by darkspawn. So, was that triggered by some sort of timer or my actions? I like to take my time to do things but do not want to somehow damper the game play by doing so.
Thanks!!
Timer?

I'm guessing I know what place got overrun and I think ti will get overrun no matter what you do. Just as a certain assassin will find you after you finish your first main quest point...

I believe it's triggered through a Treaty Quest completion.

There's no timer. The various plot events are triggered by you doing things. Spending time not doing things doesn't trigger events. Sorry to be so vague but this is no spoilers.

It would be nice if there were some form of a timer in the game. It would impress upon the player the urgency of the situation as described by the story. It would be a bit limiting on gameplay, to be sure, but I feel that if done correctly, it would be more than worth it. Having the ability to dawdle about endlessly while there's supposedly some all-important crisis going on is perhaps the most immersion breaking aspect of any RPG.
