It really doesn't. Do you even play multiplayer? You don't have to spend real money to get the new items. They're added into the packs with all the other items. I still haven't spent a dollar on packs.Mr.House wrote...
No, the problem is there "free" dlc coems with a catch, free dlc should not come with a catch.Mesina2 wrote...
Fans: Why payed DLC's?! THEY SHOULD BE FREE!
Bioware: Fine! Free DLC's.

The responses in this topic please me. I was starting to think I was like 1 out of 3 people who saw this "free" DLC for what it was.
I have a slight suspicion that the average bank login data, name and password, has significantly more value than your real-world card.razor150 wrote...
No, when you buy Magic: The Gathering cards you are buying a tangible item that has real world value. Virtual items have no real world value, especially when you can get them for free just by playing the game.
You have a bizaar understanding of the concept of 'take'.antony1197 wrote...

That doesn't go against the Angry One's point, which is that EA and Bioware are milking a cash cow dry, depleting it. This is a marketing concept - not a moral one.Dean_the_Young wrote...

No consumer is forced to spend a single dollar on this DLC, or because of it. Real world money is not required to access any part of its content.
While people like Angry One struggle at the concept, microtransactions in the ME3 style are a voluntary arrangement, not a requirement.

While people like Angry One struggle at the concept, microtransactions in the ME3 style are a voluntary arrangement, not a requirement. There is nothing in ME3's multiplayer you need to make a purchase to get, and more than that there's nothing in the ME3 multiplayer you can guarantee to get via a real-world purchase.
Angry One's argument is based on the indignation that it's not free.KnifeForkAndSpoon wrote...
Irrelevant. No one's saying it's pay to win, it's there to encourage microtransactions.
Angry One's point goes beyond that. Don't presume that one to be as measured as you are.hoodaticus wrote...

Multiplayer DLC is free because:
A) It will keep people interested in Mass Effect 3, and it ties into the story somewhat. They still make money off it through Micro-transactions.
The Extended Cut is free and even happening because:

The rest of this post is my opinion / theory / idea or whatever...
They are siphoning the DLC out little by little, because it's all part of their 'master plan' which ends with a secret final battle DLC. Also, what's up with you people who think it's so bad to have micro-transactions? (Mainly you, The Angry One). I think it's great that the DLC is free. And it is FREE. No one is forcing you to spend real money, that is your choice. And it's not gambling, you always get something out of the packs. And playing the game, to aquire in-game credits to spend on packs, it's still free! It's fake money that is aquired by having fun! Would you rather the DLC be $10 or $15? I'm guessing you wouldn't care, The Angry One, since you don't even play MP apparently, and you shouldn't care.
The End
Angry One's main point is to be angry. Don't analyze is too deepDean_the_Young wrote...

Encouraging microtransactions is not requiring payment. It isn't even a predatory pricing scheme.

Easy answer about the "free" MP packs is the amount of micro-transactions that they generate.
To be fair, I'm happy for BioWare if they're making money out of that. Having a stable income source might mean that next quality RPG they deliver won't need to be rushed for release to cash out with an underdevelopped ending.

Thanks for proving my point. Sorry, but you are incapable of discussing this without emotional outbursts.
It doesn't matter to ME what YOU wanted ME3 to be. I'm sure the feeling is mutual. Am I sorry you didn't enjoy it more? Yes. Keep mocking something I love because you didn't get what you wanted or felt entitled to. Your rinse repeating of overblown melodrama and blatant distortions won't change this.
QQ at the caps and bold. Tsk, tsk. Your emotional outbursts are showing. I kid. I kid. Maybe...
