Well, with a good team it takes about 5 hours of gameplay to get 1 million credits. I've got 2 million right now but will probably add 2 more during this weekend.

I have 800k saved up right now, probably going to play for the remaining days ( gold of course) and thinking I'll have around 5 million. I'll probably have to spend about 150k on equipment packs though.

Currently I have 300k, but today I'll play somewhere around 10 Gold matches so that would be almost 1 million credits. Same goes for Saturday, Sunday, Monday & Tuesday. Somewhere around 4 million in total if I'm patient enough.

I've been saving and spending tough; if I get the level 10 objective (gold), I'll buy a Spectre pack (saving 10-15K credits). If I play a silver game, or die before level 10 objective is done, I don't spend money.
Altough maybe I should start saving all of it for tuesday, since now we have a date...

I'm sitting on 170k right now and I intend to at least double that tonight, or maybe even triple it depending on how matches go. I'm hoping to hit 1-2 million before the DLC hits. We shall see if I even come close to my goal.

some people are efficient with the equipment they currently have and have no NEED to spend creds to upgrade or unlock anything else. once the DLC comes out, we will be able to unlock newer items a lot more quickly. (usually on the same day)
you are correct about not controlling what we get though. its personal preference.
