Was thinking the exact same thing.

It's so much easier and un-creative to create new characters, animations, completely new powers and weapons than to import the exisintg models, powers, weapons, config file from Ashes, which is a paid DLC and so are the resources included in it.

It's probably because there's no secret cache of Protheans left anywhere, and if there was it would be impolite not to tell Javik about them.

Who in their mind thought we would get Protheans? Javik is the last of his kind- deal with it.

If you seriously thought Phoenix + From Ashes was some sort of connection, you're really dilusional and gone completely side-tracked from the canon of Mass Effect.

Phoenix ties well together with Cerberus Operative names. They would simply like to keep it that way. And as well, seeing as how Cerberus people have decided to go good instead of continue their work, it was a moment-due over time.

Seriously, I'm literally baffled by the sheer amount of stupidity from people that really thought Protheans will and were going to be implemented, espicially when they tried to tie in the stupid reference of From Ashes (DLC) together with it. So ridicilous.

There is only one Prothean left alive in the galaxy. Having more protheans would totally mess with Javik's "I am the last Mohican... er Prothean" lines.

The only way to have Protheans in MP is if we get some SP DLC later on where Shep and Javik come across an in-tact Prothean stasis site where more pods are still active. Of course Javik's original lines would have to be altered or replaced.

People who dismiss the idea of Protheans existing with Javik clearly forgot the first game when there were no Protheans. There is nothing stopping Bioware from saying "Hey guess what? We found more stasis pods! Javik, you're not alone anymore!" especially considering we have found stasis pods twice already.

And honestly, finding more Protheans makes a hell of a lot more sense than there being defectors of an organization that routinely plants suicide chips in it's employees heads just in case they, you know, defect.

exactly in games 1 and 2 there were NO PROTHEANS (Collectors do not count)

Besides, it's much more likely for someone alive to disobey their superior's orders than it is for a dead person to suddenly be alive.

I agree completely.  There's no reason they would've hid ex-cerberus like that.  Ex-cerberus, wtf, how is that even a species category?  Protheans makes far more sense.  A bird that burns to ash and resurrects after 500 years.  Protheans, who can fly (remember the Collects FLYING in?), died 50,000 years ago (granted 500 =/= 50,000 but a multiple of 100 is better than nothing since 500 can't work for obvious reasons), and they even named Javik "from ashes".  Seriously, BW was either testing the waters or trolling us.  No two ways about it.

Oh yeah, and remember that The Truth dlc leak they claimed was BS when the game first game out?  It claimed a handful of new race/class combos.  Minus the Protheans, the rest of them appeared in Resurgence.

And LOL's at the "that's stupid, all the protheans are dead except Javik."  All the Protheans period were dead.  Until we found out what the Collectors were.  But there weren't any unmodified Protheans... until there was.  But yeah, I'm sure it's utterly impossible that there's more unmodified Protheans out there that we just haven't found.  Because...  nevermind I can't think of a reason.  Even sarcastically.

Ex cerberus- We have actually seen this in single player. (Not the soldiers, but the scientists at least.)
Protheans- We only have seen 1 lucky guy alive, and that's because all the power which was meant to be for A LOT of protheans focused on one guy.

Which one is easier to explain?
