Just be realistic mkay?
There are no more humanoid models left to use exept protheans. And we will never see non-humanoid playermodels in MP since the whole animation- and coversystem does not work with them.

And honestly, finding more Protheans makes a hell of a lot more sense than there being defectors of an organization that routinely plants suicide chips in it's employees heads just in case they, you know, defect.

Did you even read the announcement?

Besides, it's much more likely for someone alive to disobey their superior's orders than it is for a dead person to suddenly be alive.

Yes, the problem is it matches less with lore than Protheans do. Again, Cerberus agents do (or are at least supposed to) have suicide chips planted in their heads in case they defect. And in the game, it was clear that Cerberus wasn't openly indoctrinating their troops. If they were, it'd be logical since nobody would stick around if they heard "Hey dudz, we'z going to indoctrinates you lolz!" Especially since Cerberus operates within the cell structure, so how would that many find out?

So strikes against there actually being Cerberus defectors:
- Suicide chips
- pawns knowing about the master plan to indoctrinate them?
- cell structure

and the basis for Protheans:
- hey, here's another one of the things that we've alredy introduced twice
+ not to mention, the Salarian's ability and use of cloning to, you know, just clone Javik since he's balls powerful.

Press release means nothing, it certainly wouldn't be the first time Bioware has contradicted itself.

SP / lore > MP.

it would be incredibly stupid to add protheans. specially since in this game, MP ties into SP.

They need to reuse all singleplayer armors before making new models for MP.

Sounds good, expect that we actually get defected Cerberus people as war assets in the single player.

Using prothean clones are soldiers is pretty much the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

The fact that they exist doesn't mean that it doesn't contradict lore. Cerberus employees are supposed to be implanted with chips. All you've shown is that Bioware has abandoned their lore. Of course they could retcon it with "we figured out a way to disable the chips" or some such nonsense (which at this point I would be all for), but they haven't so it doesn't make sense. And again, seriously stop with the "well Javik's the only one so na-na-na-bo-bo".

Be stupiderrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.  Personally, I'm glad it's not Protheans.  Javik disgusts me and I hope the rest of them stay dead just so the little bastard stays miserable.  However the evidence clearly pointed to Protheans.  A much more logical ground than vomitting up "crying" drivel.

Why? Because it's true? Because it means you wont get to play a prothean?

Same, pretty dissapointed we're getting more humans instead considering they are pretty much the least interesting race in the game and all the current humans are pretty mediocre except the vanguard.

You aren't playing the same human characters as I am, apparently.
Killer Claymore Infiltrator, self detonating tech burst Engineer, durable biotic exploder Sentinel and the Human Soldier has become quite good as well. Plus combat roll.

Because Bioware has no creativity left.

How is it less creative to play off of established lore (Cerberus rebels are seen in SP) then to break lore in order for your ungrateful tools to play Prothean?

@pottumuusi

Grunt was a clone, yet he's stronger than most krogans as well there was a whole army of clone krogans....

Your arguement is invalid.

Grunt was made for perfection by technology from mercs and done by a krogan scientist...

Salarian technology is better and we dont need protheans to be perfect since no character in MP is perfect. And the salarians are smarter than a krogan scientist

*facepalm* maybe because I've already explained how there's 3 different ways that it is pointless to say it? Seriously, reading comprehension.

You're really that dumb?

Secretly maybe, but secrets can rarely be kept that way, not every cerberus employee was completely oblivious to the process, have you even played the SP? There's this mission with Jacob..

That, and don't try to shove lore in everyone's face while you spit on the other one with protheans being dead while trying to justify whining.

One more thing. It's Bioware's game, they write the story, they decied that there are cerberus defectors and no more prothean survivors.

I can see Bioware trying to incorporate that amusingly.

Imagine if we had like some community weekend  where the Hack Objectives all turned into Reactivating "newly found" prothean stasis pods (kinda like in Javik's mission where you had to camp around his pod), and these objectives like, only appear on Wave 10 Gold

The squad goal would be to survive extraction on a match that has the Prothean stasis pod objective and only those who win the squad goal will get to unlock Protheans in MP.

And thos who don't win a prothean will get to buy one with bioware points lol

The only reference I can find to this is from the Nemesis description.  To quote from the wiki:

"Because of self-destruct mechanisms that activate upon the sniper's death, the Alliance has never retrieved an example of nemesis augmentation technology. This fact, combined with Cerberus forces' penchant for suicide when faced with capture, has made scientific study of their implants impossible."

To note, self-destruct happens on death.  Death happens because many of them choose to commit suicide (indoctrinated).  The Cerberus defectors are not indoctrinated.  They would not commit suicide.  They would not self-destruct.  Not to mention the fact that it makes no mention of all Cerberus troops having self-destruct implants, just nemeses.

Do you have a specific reference that contradicts this?

Yeah, in ME3, and indoctrinated to be more precise, I wouldn't call replacing your FACE just a simple chip (that, and I generally hate the term chip, mostly only used by laimans).

Miranda and the rest clearly doesn't have anything implanted, otherwise Shep would've had one too. It was TIM himself who opposed the idea, taking the biggest risk possible, you'd think he would care even less on some other menial employees like Kelly?

Really? The person who can't understand how the nortoriously secretive Cerberus, where even second-in-command Miranda had barely a clue outside of her own cell, can keep a massive secret calls me dumb? The mission with Jacob only shows how Bioware isn't consistent.

I have explained already 2 or 3 seperate ways how there can be Protheans in multiplayer without breaking lore, yet I'm spitting on it?

And Jesus, no one has said that Bioware can't say that. Just that it directly contradicts what they've said in the past. Is it really *that* hard for you to understand?

While I'm a little bummed at not having Protheans, I'm not losing sleep over it. I'll take cool humans with new and exciting powers over hearing people whine about how having to play with full teams of Javiks as it breaks their immersion of fighting the Geth on Condor where the Geth never went. Protheans would be cool but it's more their powers--Slam and Dark Channel--that I'd want and not so much them.

Also we're all missing the real story here, that I can now add Jayne and Mal to my Quarian crew alongside Zoe and Kaylee. Time to be big gorram heroes.
