Go back to playing your CoD if you want to play with Protheans!

Wow, just wow. You are an ass. I hope you know that.

Calling people CoD fanboys and mass labeling ANYONE with a different opinion than you as the gaming equivalent of "the lowest common denominator" actually makes you a piece of sh**.

Just thought I would let you know.

Lol, I like how you completely ignored the fact that the post made absolutely no sense.

They are extinct, that should be a pretty obvious explanation.

Doesn't matter if it made sense or not. People actually say completely stupid things exactly like you did.
And then they play it off like a joke. Like you did.
It was a troll statement to make, in which you intentionally sought to get a negative reaction from someone. Which you did.

That makes you the bad guy here. Not me. So don't play it off like what you said was "cool" or "funny". It wasn't.

It wasn't funny. However, your reaction to it is. Getting upset because I said to play with the Protheans in CoD is just silly.

Have you actually played the game? Did you pay attention to the story? They are extinct.
You might as well ask to play as a Reaper dreadnaught.

I said this in the second page, let me elaborate my point this time and see if I can get some understanding.

BioWare seems to be keeping a certain level of separation here. From Ashes had nothing to do with MP and Resurgence had nothing to do with SP. There's no Kishock or Geth SMG for Shepard and no Particle Beam or M55 for MP. SP got a Patch and changed nothing for MP. Hydra and Condor don't even "exist" in SP. Weekly balance changes also don't touch SP.

So far, characters and classes addition were limited to lore and War Assets available in SP. Its was already there, in numbers and text, both Vorcha, Batarian and ex-Cerberus can be acquired to fight the reaper in Single Player.

So, I don't care about Protheans. I don't even like Javik and only played From Ashes because it came with my Digital Deluxe purchase. Too my point of view, altering known facts is always a bad idea. But OK, this is beyond my opinion. The fact is: Every playable character from MP is a War Asset in someone's campaign and ProtheansSquads are not even hinted in SP.

Conclusion is simple: If we are to see Protheans for MP, they have to appear as War Assets somehow and the only way to do this is with a Single Player DLC. If this SP DLC gets released and a "Protheans Squad" is added to Shepard's War Assets we can wait for a MP DLC called "Rebirth" including Protheans.

My opinion is: BioWare will not add "Protheans Squad" to SP, therefore we are not going to see Protheans as playable classes in MP. But if we do, we will see a SP DLC first, adding Protheans as War Assets.

tl;dr: Protheans are not(yet) war assets so they can't fight this war. If they add "Prothean Squad" to war assets, we can think about Protheans for MP.

Using the "lore"argument is not hiding or exaggerating to "prove" a point. Using quotations to "prove" a point is exaggerating. The lore argument is perfectly valid. I do not remember the specific dialogue lines, but Javik basically states that once the reapers are defeated, he is content to go 'sleep' (i.e., die obviously) with the rest of his people and let the protheans become past history once again. Javik obviously is not interested in having himself cloned, which without the release of DLC showing the discovery of more Protheans in stasis (or even worse, just some lame explanation Admiral Hackett like "OMG, we found 1,000 more pods still in stasis... we're gonna use 'em to fight in the N7 Ops, don't tell Javik, LOLs) is the only way Protheans in MP can happen. If they told Javik they wanted to clone him to make more shock troops, he would probably instruct the messenger to throw himself out the nearest airlock, especially with the way the Genophage situation is handled. (assuming paragon option, haven't seen renegade option yet).

Oh, BTW, your point about there being the same amount of Ardat-Yakshi as Protheans in the universe is an exaggeration... Just saying.

1. Javik only says that if you're daft enough to tell him to chug a keg full of pain and sorrow by using that memory shard. Otherwise he plans to help Liara with a book about Protheans. And do keep in mind that MP is obviously based off the best outcomes since we have both quarians and geth.
2. Javik would do anything to defeat the Reapers. If he felt that cloning an army of himself would help turn the tide, he would do it, no matter how much it pained him.
3. Lore would be a valid argument if lore truly precluded it. It doesn't.

Grunt was in there a lot longer than that accoding to Okeer's speech. Same for Wrex and Saren and the Krogan doctor on Virmire.

He was half right. Grunt wasn't only a week old, but the krogan clone you speak with earlier in the mission is. It's explicitly stated that the krogan were made fully grown.

It isn't valid.  The greatest prothean research center built for the sole purpose of preserving their race was capable of sustaining exactly 0 protheans for 50k years.  Javik himself is against the lore.  They threw it away for the sake of gameplay and a cheap buck.  Sorry.  The can of worms has already been opened.

Its further invalid because we've killed millions of ardot yakshi.  And you're wrong.  Replay the games.  Samara claims there are only two left.  Her daughters.  We then find out there's a church filled with them, all of whom are harvested before we get there save two of samaras daughters,  one of whom blows the facility up.  Ergo, one left who hasn't already been turned.  And though there were clearly more than samara thought, there were not millions of them, or even close.

Javik being the last prothean alive does not really counter the fact that the Protheans are extinct. Ooops! I used that word again. Umadbro/sis?

I am no expert in this issue, but I am somewhat certain that a species numbering one is regarded as extinct by the standards of conservationists and the like

unless they find a way to clone protheans, how would they be able to justify the millions of players playing protheans if there is only one in existence? There aren't any female protheans... or do they lay eggs?

Prothean haters/lore trolls need to realize that protheans were extinct in ME1/2, then bioware made up a sole survivor for ME3. They could easily make up more for the multiplayer.

Also there are so many things contradicting lore in MP allready, why aren't you crying about all the other stuff in MP that breaks lore?

They could easily come up with some more prothean survivors and a reasonable explanation. After all they made Javik up for ME3, and the universe is a vast place and they Javik stated that the Prothean empire was spread out all over . I don't see why not.

Also there's this thing called imagination, I have no problem distinguishing MP from SP. Hell, if they added a playable collector voiced by harbinger I'd still be able to distinguish it from SP and make up my own reasoning for him being a playable character in MP. Multiplayer is just a horde mode add on were you play nameless characters and killing respawning hordes of enemies, it has little to do with the SP story.

For the purposes of conversation there's no real difference because a species can't reproduce with itself (no matter what we tell our bosses when we quit).  For scientific classification purposes, a single living member doesn't get classified as extinct.  Many species have had their official "extinct" status removed after one animal was found.

I still find it mindboggling that people can't accept the idea of the possibility of more Protheans being alive but in stasis.  We already found two stasis chambers.  The Prothean Empire was vast and they were largely cut off from one another after the initial Reaper invasion.  It's far from impossible that there might be more we haven't found, especially in that 99% of the Milky Way that's unexplored by Council races.  Hell, it's not even unlikely.

Again, Javik is just ONE prothean. The protheans should be considered extinct when 1. There is just one member left 2. See 1 3. There is no one he can mate with that will spawn a 100% prothean (Unless he turns to cloning, but that would be cheating in a way) 4.It would Eff with the story. 5 The Reapers are accurate bastards. 6. He is pretty much dead anyway given the mortality rate of his occupation.

I agree, lore wise Javik is the exception to the rule and one lone prothean =/= multiple protheans for MP. If they ammended the lore with a SP DLC that allowed you to acquire more protheans as war assets then yes it would follow to have protheans available for MP. But until such a time as they ammend the lore with such a DLC protheans simply aren't lore-viable options for MP characters.

I don't even know where to start with that... viscous assault on common sense. The lunacy of "cloning would be cheating"? It would "eff" the story even though there's no way anyone could know what any of the great number of isolated Prothean worlds did during the war? That the Reapers are "accurate bastards" that managed to leave a dead one of their own laying around for 37,000,000 years, including the code to their locked relay(s) (which they haven't changed in those 37M years), left blueprints for an omniweapon that can destroy them laying around for God only knows how many millions of years... need I go on?
