Herp a Derp. Asperger's kid needs to settle down.
So Javik is the lone living Prothean. His race is extinct. He will not reproduce, so they are not coming back.
And as the person above stated, it would be stupid to have Prothean characters running around in multiplayer.

It really is quite amazing how the anti-Prothean folks keep saying "but they're all dead" and then we're all like "here's how that could not be true" and then they're all like "NANANANANANANANANANANA They're all dead! He's the last one because I said so NANANANANANA". This has long since descended into hilarity.

Not to mention prior to me3 they were ALL dead extinct entirely. The lore pros seem to forget that in their arguments lol

I stopped a random person on the Citadel and asked them what they thought about the idea of Protheans assisting in the war effort. He looked at me as if I had three heads and asked, "Is there any other extinct species you'd suggest? Rachni maybe?"

I'm not anti-Prothean, I would love one.  But... they're all dead.  Would I whine if it was in MP because of lore, hell no, it would be sick to use Dark Energy or whatever.

I'm real glad they didn't add Protheans... It wouldn't make any sense.

People need to accept that this MP is unlike other games... it actually IS tied into the SP story.

Javik doesn't have to be the last Prothean...

If the Mordins of the universe can clone kakliosaurs faster than it takes to make microwave popcorn, why can't they pleasure Javi- I mean get a sample of DNA from Javik to recreate Protheans? If you accept Grunt as a true being, and most players do and so if we do our bud Javik mentions how awesome Grunt must have been, then ergo Javik should love providing DNA to recreate Protheans.

AND BAM! Acceptable reintroduction of Prothies that doesn't invalidate canon.

Afterthought:

AND BAM! Here we have a base idea for Mass Effect 4. The Prothean Empire returns. "Ha, Those primitives are so stupid for cloning me."

Third time in this cycle, how primitive...

Mozts wrote...

I said this in the second page, let me elaborate my point this time and see if I can get some understanding.

BioWare seems to be keeping a certain level of separation here. From Ashes had nothing to do with MP and Resurgence had nothing to do with SP. There's no Kishock or Geth SMG for Shepard and no Particle Beam or M55 for MP. SP got a Patch and changed nothing for MP. Hydra and Condor don't even "exist" in SP. Weekly balance changes also don't touch SP.

So far, characters and classes addition were limited to lore and War Assets available in SP. Its was already there, in numbers and text, both Vorcha, Batarian and ex-Cerberus can be acquired to fight the reaper in Single Player.

So, I don't care about Protheans. I don't even like Javik and only played From Ashes because it came with my Digital Deluxe purchase. Too my point of view, altering known facts is always a bad idea. But OK, this is beyond my opinion. The fact is: Every playable character from MP is a War Asset in someone's campaign and ProtheansSquads are not even hinted in SP.

Conclusion is simple: If we are to see Protheans for MP, they have to appear as War Assets somehow and the only way to do this is with a Single Player DLC. If this SP DLC gets released and a "Protheans Squad" is added to Shepard's War Assets we can wait for a MP DLC called "Rebirth" including Protheans.

My opinion is: BioWare will not add "Protheans Squad" to SP, therefore we are not going to see Protheans as playable classes in MP. But if we do, we will see a SP DLC first, adding Protheans as War Assets.

tl;dr: Protheans are not(yet) war assets so they can't fight this war. If they add "Prothean Squad" to war assets, we can think about Protheans for MP.

But they're not all dead. Javik is there. And we've been over how there could also be others (another stasis world, cloning). All Bioware has to do is say hay, it's lore. And it is.

Who says protheans reproduce in the two sex mating way we know?
Maybe they are monogender like Asari and reproduce by mitosis?

I don't even know where to start with that... viscous assault on common sense. The lunacy of "cloning would be cheating"? It would "eff" the story even though there's no way anyone could know what any of the great number of isolated Prothean worlds did during the war? That the Reapers are "accurate bastards" that managed to leave a dead one of their own laying around for 37,000,000 years, including the code to their locked relay(s) (which they haven't changed in those 37M years), left blueprints for an omniweapon that can destroy them laying around for God only knows how many millions of years... need I go on?

Vicious assaults on common sense? haha The fact that you are trying to sound intelligent is a "vicious assault" on common sense. I also forgot to add 6(ithink). Most of the story implies that the Reapers did wipe out all protheans. Didnt the reapers leave the crucible on purpose just to see which race would be able to construct it first so they will know when their "Master Plan" is no longer working? I have a vague memory of the Catalyst saying something like that.

Screw Protheans, I want a playable Inusannon! They could just find thousands of them in stasis pods, or surely Donovan Hock must have a mummified one in his museum that could be cloned, amirite?

tbh, I found my Humans formidable agents. e.h. HS works like charm when it comes to biotic explosions, whereas AA just plain sucks. HI with Kishok is pretty versatile, when Salarian or Quarian seems to be tailored to specific enemy.

about the ardat-yakshi, the game lore states that banshees are made from ardat-yakshi AND asari's with certain genetical predisposition (can't remember the exact term) to it.

Lol you're such a troll but here I go:

A lot of things in multiplayer break lore already and they gave us ex-cerberus units so protheans would be less cannon breaking than that ....

TBH I´m pretty sure they will give us Protheans sooner or later since they always give the fans what they demand.
I´m just a little disappointed that we first got 2 new human chars - not saying they will not be fun to play.
