I just wanted to get some peoples opinions on giving this sniper rifle to ashley. I know the Revenant is one of the best if not 'the best' Assault rifle to give to ashley due to her high rifle damage and marksmen.
With her having an almost equally high sniper damage bonus potential, marksmen plus the rifle being fully automatic do you guys think it is the best Sniper rifle she can use?

That sounds effective, although the Indra has such a low base damage at level 1, what level is your Indra now?

Make sure she has some sort of ammo power (she can get full power disruptor, which would be good leveled for stun) for it as well as SR Piercing. Then it should work out alright.
I don't know that this would be the best SR for her to use. She is decent with Mantis and Widow variants just as Garrus is. Indra is best if you can get Incendiary Explosive Ammo on it.

Without direct commands (i.e. "Attack that one") even from Widow/Javelin Garrus and Ash will deliver about half of lifebar on Cannibal, about 6-7 bars (of ten) from CAT/Husk. So single-shots are effective when you command them. On their own it's better to give them something more rapid-firing, Valiant, Incirsor, Indra, preferably with IEA, as capn233 said. . They fire from them a little bit faster and due more shots fired deal a little bit more damage.
But on long runs, that difference is not that big.
Not sure for what class you playing, i.e. do you have your own ammo powers or not.

I don't know about the Val. They seem to both only take one shot with it when I gave it to them. Garrus, who I use a lot more with SR's, is a whole lot better with Mantis/Widow/Jav than the Val for that reason. He is also not good with the Viper either (who is?).
I do frequently order my squad to attack targets though. In that regard, Garrus has dropped Marauders on Thessia after their shields go down with a Javelin shot when they have near full health. That is a concrete example off the top of my head. I don't recall how well they deal with more basic enemies, though I do see them get thrown back from their shots fairly frequently. All in all Shepard is still the king of weapon damage output with the squad being more useful with their powers.

For those tests I've made (quite a few, generally I was busy shooting things myself) I'd say they fire faster, and if memory serves, I think they can fire three fast shots from Valiant. Maybe I'm mixing that up with Incirsor, I really do not remember, but somehow I think it was Valiant.

Firepower versus mobility. Sort of. For the time it took them to make second shot from big-trio, Valiant, Indra and Incirsor will allow them to send quite a pack of rounds downrange. With IA it will be much more effective even without "assuming control".
Please, no comments on "IEA again!"

You, if you have Hanne-Kedar kit, since Cerberus armour + barrel + Concetration may not be enough to deal OSOK on small game and TSOK on mid-game.
Valiant still better, though. If only not those 33 rounds... I'd sell Allers and Argus to have at least 40+3 rounds in Valiant.

I don't, I approve free will. In common sense boundaries, of course.

Also as bait/ambusher and mobile reserve of ammunition. James and Tali quitedevastative i at point-blank f you can lure enemies to them. Well, generally it's faster just to kill enemies outright, but aren't we deserving some fun?
