What's going on in here?

Well, let me update... i had a fun theory.. some discussion on it.. it got heated.. it got ugly, and now we are flirting with the girls

I'll flirt with you if you prefer.

Hell no, im one that is flirting too!!!

Well, and he wants in on the action, don't be such a prude. If we're currently flirting, I'm assuming "sex" here looks like the nightly events in Fight Club (No, not the ones with Marla, the ones with the boobdude).

I don't recall anyone finding Duncan's body. So maybe there is a chance he is still alive.

I don't think it's a question of can it be done so much as should it. IMHO, no, it shouldn't. The "ZOMGWTFBBQ I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD" plot device is horribly overused.

This.

They'd have to go to pretty strenuous lengths to explain how Duncan survived an axe chop to the head and how he made it off the battlefield even though the front lines were overwhelmed.

The king is dead.  Duncan is wounded and exhausted--and weaponless, having left them in the dead ogre.  He sees the beacon lit on the tower, but realizes that Loghain isn't there--the Grey Wardens have been betrayed.  The GWs are being decimated in front of his eyes.  That's a pretty tight spot to get out of.

Somebody upthread mentioned Wynne escaping, but she wasn't on the front lines as the king and GWs were.  There was time enough for combatants in the rear to realize that all was lost and to flee.  The game itself references people being at the battle and surviving on several occasions--one off the top of my head (aside from Wynne) is the knight in Denerim who recognizes you as a GW, who says he was there and blames you for the death of his friend.  So I don't think Wynne's survival proves anything with regard to Duncan.

Besides, I highly doubt that you'll find King Cailan's armor just sitting on the battlefield, waiting for you to come along and pick it up!  I wouldn't be surprised if the upcoming DLC was basically a hunt for the various pieces.

They never found Bryce's body either you know.

Fear the coming of Zombie Bryce, commanded by Zombie Duncan, along with Zombie Harrowmont and Zombie Bodhain (not really a zombie but this way he can grab all the loot).

Morrigan said she saw Darkspawn dragging surivivors underground. The small possibility Duncan survived, perhaps sensing he is a Warden they spared his life and are currently using him for some dreaded purpose

Back onto the topic of Duncan, dead or alive.

http://tvtropes.org/...ithmOfMortality

He hits too many 5s, in my opinion. Age, Role, Personalities, "Virtues," and Occupation.

True very true. That or maybe someone found him dragged before the darkspawn came. Nursed him back to health and he gotten amnesia. And people in a nearby town saw him wandering around forgetting who he is.

This is actually a reason I hope he did not survive, as much as I am sad that he died.  The only thing I think that would keep him from seeking the PC and Alistair out if he survived would be that he was captured and unable to do so and what the darkspawn do...would be much, much worse than death.

Im thinking there could be something found in the Return to Ostagard DLC that may hint to that... it would then be up to you to either rescue or discovery what exactly they are using him for... i keep thinking of the broodmother and how they used a dwarf girl.

So you're assuming that Duncan survived the axe blow?!  It was a big swinging blow, likely to either split his head down to his shoulders or decapitate him, depending on the angle!  How do you account for this?

Morrigan also said she saw darkspawn eating the corpses, so that explains why no body would be found.

Well, in the past they captured Wardens to help them discover old gods, but that would set the stage for yet another blight in the sequel, which I doubt will happen.

I really want (and don't want!!) to see a shriek and hurlock broodmother. I have a very bad feeling that maybe the reason that there haven't been too many female Grey Wardens is because of this, which makes me feel a little ill. Okay a lot, I'm not a good enough RPer to cut myself off from the utter squickiness of this.
