the poll we had in the first weeks after game was released had something like 90% of people who hated the endings and around 80k votes.

so yeah, most of us have problems with it

I liked it, it has flaws but none were large enough to break my suspension of disbelief or make my Shepard feel invalidated as others have.

I've been here since December of last year, I saw the massive rise of anticipation and the great fall when the space editions were datamined and posted here. And I whethered the worst of the ****storm and witch hunt that those who liked the endings went through on the forums when the majority of fans needed something to rage against.

I honestly had no problem with the games ending because it ended in a way that fit my outlook on things. There is great appeal to me in a hero who either sacrifices himself fora noble end and for those who uses power normally seen as evil as a force for good, the ending gave me both. Now im on the edge of my seat anticipating the extended cut so that I can have more content and get some better clarity on my choices impact and a better execution of showing my decisions in action and some closure.

I liked it.

To put things simply: Green = what Saren wanted, Blue = what TIM wanted, and Red = what Anderson wanted.

What Saren wanted was to be in the Collector's roll but he also had the false hope of maintaining a small shread of autonomy.

===========
OP,
What I think you will find is a lot of people who dispise the ending and then some people who will give the ending a resounding "meh."  There are even a rare few who like it.  Because of the disparity in views, all those in the "it'sOK" camp have to join the "I-liked-it" camp just to be heard above the vitrol.

you know what i've seen since i've been here? before ME3 came out most of the devs tended to post here quite regularly, I am sad to see that they have been forced off here for the most part and that only chris(+ a few devs here and there) braves these forums now, and even then only for his signature lockdowns this amkes me disapoint

The only part I liked was the flashback sequence to the small battle. After that no....

I don't feel strongly either way about the ending. If anything, in my personal opinion, the Sanctuary mission was probably my least favorite part of the game. I know, that sounds a bit weird when you compare me to the rest of the community.

I didn't really hate the ending. Just some parts of it were really stupid (the weird elevator to the catalyst, normandy scene).

But what I did like were the final choices. They need to be explained more and actually see the consequences of them, but I really hope their base idea would not be changed in the EC.

I don't want to convince you to hate the ending. If you like it, I'm happy for you. I wish I felt that way.

But I can't help but wonder.... you say you saw nothing wrong with it.
Weren't you expecting more? Like a Priority:Earth that was as awesome as the suicide mission? Didn't you think there would be more varied outcomes, that things such as destroying/saving the Collector base would have some significance? Didn't you want more explanation as to what the Reapers are, what the Catalyst actually is and more epilogue to show what happened?

None of that bothered you?

It's more of a good amount of people like the concepts...but felt it either needed more (epilogue) and that there are plotholes needed to be fixed. Ala Extended Cut.
It was only till after the "take Back ME3" and "hold the line" became so big that we see a lot of people who wanted a complete redo of the ending.
Some want IT and ONLY IT to be true.
It has gotten very complicated over the months on who likes what. People who do like it always say that the extended cut is a good thing and that they should keep the concept of the ending still there, and I agree. I felt it was just executed badly.

No, I ended up pulling the disc out, grabbing the box, and making sure they both said "Mass Effect 3" on them, because I had no idea what I was playing at that point.

I like priority Earth, it was not as good as the suicide mission but was still very good IMO.
I felt there were enoguh outcomes that were reflected well by your choices, I may like some epilouge on what happens after the choices but even without it I enjoy the endings.

So I guess no, none of that bothered me, mostly because my opinions are diffrent to most on this fourm I suppose.

I agree, it's a terrible thing to occur but I'm hopeful the extended cut will let them brave the waters once again. At least I have one fandom where the devs and fans have a very good relationship, even if a weird one.

Hey, were you around when that whole stanley roo troll thing happned? I miss those happier days.

The now Ninja Stan lurks these waters...though less "END OF RINE" about. Oh well. Personally I miss the days of "NO ______? PRE-ORDER CANCELLED" posts.

It was a poster who kept making fake stanley woo post, and he kept typing in a fake asian stereotype accent, so he'd start every post with, "herro, my name is ranly roo." and would end his post with "end of rine."

He made at least 7 different accounts, all of them with the same thing, and spent the whole day trolling, getting baned, and making another account to troll.

It was honestly one of the funniest things around, to bad that guy got permabanned, or maybe he's still around, who knows.

I think there were like 5 people here at one point who liked the ending. But we drove them out of the forums with our pitchforks and torches while trying to find those responsible for the content we got.

Most got scared by the question.
"What did you enjoy about the ending?"

There's a number of us around, and we have repeatedly answered the question "What did you enjoy about the ending?"  See the link in my sig for some discussion reasons why we liked the ending.  I like the ending.  I mean, it could have been better, but I think it still sufficiently ended the trilogy.  Hopefully the extended cut will fix some of the flaws.

Nope, even after I did a 2nd full playthrough on insanity. Still cringed when I got to the end, ti robbed my of all enthusiasm. Which is sad since I still have like 3 different Shepard's just sitting there waiting to finish their story. I played each of their storyline differently to see how different their outcomes would be, apparently not very different at all.

Though I'm honestly curious what it was that made some of you like it after the second run.

The only person I know who liked the ending is my son, who got me into playing Mass Effect a couple of years ago before he left for uni, me being a total Splinter Cell and Call of Duty nut, I fell in love especially with ME1,
He pestered me to finish quickly so we could talk about it, I was too numb to talk!
He thought it was WOW! but then (sorry have to mention) he is convinced in IT.
Thinks its Casey Hudson's finger to EA and he saw IT from the start with the boy in the shaft and thinks the best is yet to come..... he is a believer! and I want to be.
I played through two and a half times can't bear to carry on because of the end,it just got worse with the playthroughs.
