I put my Awakening disk in and get a message "Cannot find the Dragon Age Disk, please try again." I have the Dragon Age:Origins and the Awakening games installed, and I have the 1.04 patch. A week ago they were both playing ok. All of a sudden I can't get either game to play. My access codes are correct for both games, and I had all the dlcs installed. Now I see on my Content site that some of the Origins dlcs I had are not showing, but my main problem is for no apparent reason, my disk isn't recognized. I decided that I should download the 1.05 patch yesterday and it seemed to fix the problem for a few minutes, but today my disk isn't being recognized again. Is there a solution?

Obviously, check the disc for dirt or scratches. If it appears clean, then you should probably see if anything has changed with your OS lately-- have you experienced any crashes, installed any new software, added any new user accounts? Have you moved any files around? Is Windows up to date?

And is your disc drive an internal or external drive? Have you changed the drive letter?

The more detail you can provide, the better others here can help you.  See the "Read First" post for info on that.  Also, the "nuclear option" exists for you... you can uninstall *both* Awakening and DA:O, reboot, download and install the EA Origin client, and use your existing CD keys to download the games.  Unfortunately, people have had using a disc-installed Origins and a digitally-downloaded Awakening-- it still asks for a disc check.

The reason my disks didn't work was somehow DA:O wasn't showing up at all in my program files, or in the add/remove programs. I finally contacted EA and the tech recommended deleting any DA:O files, and then downloading Origins and Awakening from Origin. The tech walked me through the process and finally the files started downloading. It took 12 hours to download and install the two games. Probably because I had all the dlc's for Orgins.

I have to say that EA really came through for me, and both games are working perfectly, and I got all my dlc back.
I still don't know what happened to cause my games to disappear from my pc! Thanks for replying to my problem.

Just a question I wondered if I should download the 1.5 patch? I seem to have 1.4 installed with the download.

The main things 1.05 does is fix authentication issues and/or performance issues with DX10 graphics. If neither problem is affecting you then updating to 1.05 is totally optional. More details at http://social.biowar...page/da-patches .
