Not sure if anyone knows this, but taking into account that a player trys to maximize earning XP (like killing out of the Mako and doing all the quests) how many times should said player do the level up/save glitch to insure that they get to level 60 in one playthrough? Is this as tedious as it sounds?

Well from 57-60 requires 400,000 xp. IIRC, (it's been a long time) it gives at that level in the range of 1200 xp. So from 57 to 60 you'd have to save/load around 340 times to go up the last 3 levels.  It would probably be faster just to do a couple of minimalist playthroughs, it would certainly be less wear and tear on your hardware.

What I meant was, say you level up from 16th level to 30th with the glitch on Therum (which is what I did). I had no intention of leveling up all the way to 60 from 16th level--I'll be curious to see if this will allow me to reach 60th level as long as I do everything I can in the game from that point on.

Probably not. As you level up the amount of points needed for the next level increases, and in the higher levels it increases quite dramatically. My first play of ME1 I hit the 50 level cap with no difficulties, might even have been before Virmire, though I think not long before. My second play with the same character that went 50 levels before only went 9 levels the second time leaving me short of level 60 my about 80 thousand points. And I didn't skip all that much, I was just a little lazy about exploring all the maps and getting out of the Mako to finish off enemies.

To have gone from 16 to 30 you'd have added something around 40,000 points. That's about half what I missed level 60 by that time, and if The Grey Ranger's memory is correct it's a tenth of what you need to get from 57 to 60. For your playthrough it will come down to whether getting every single experience point in the game from this point plus the 40,000 or so you've got from the glitch is enough to reach level 60. Having missed it myself with two moderately completionist plays I'd say it seems unlikely.

Going from 16 to 30 is around 43,400 xp. Going from 30 to 60 is around 806,600 xp. If you're interested in the required xp per level, here is the wiki link. http://masseffect.wi...xperience_Guide

That said if you have the xp bonus acheivements and both dlc's you can probably hit 57 or 58 in one pass.  All you really miss is about 2 or 3 skill points or a couple of levels if you're importing into ME2.

57 is actually tough to get on a single run if you have no DLC and don't want to take advantage of any glitches. I have gotten it, but on runs with both the paragon and renegade mission. I might have been able to not cheat as long as I did not solve Maj Kyle's mission or Hostile Takeover with charm/intimidate.  I basically killed every other enemy in the game, all the Thresher Maws, surveyed all the minerals, and unlocked basically every crate.  Also went through Noveria the "long way" where you kill all the guards (Hot Labs first, then go through the base to get to Benezia instead of any of the shortcuts).

But as above, if you are on PC and want to exploit glitches, you might as well just go ahead and enable console then give yourself some XP if you just have to get to level 60 on a single run. Would be a whole lot faster than messing around with infinite spawning Krogan, Geth Destroyers or whatever else.

The problem I have with doing a quick second run is that if you do that, you'd miss out on a lot in Mass Effect 2 since your 60th level save is the one in which you skipped all the side missions. Most of it is minor detail, of course (like emails), but I still like all that stuff. If I do this I'll use one of the Feros glitches to level up I think. Thanks.

You could do it the other way round, speed run plus some glitch then full run. Personally not sure it's worth it anyway. Have taken a lvl 59, a 60 and a 54 into ME2 and there isn't much practical difference.
