Whether Saren supported it or not, synthesis is still a joke. There can never be a "final evolution of life". Evolution doesn't work that way. Its a never ending process by which life changes and adapts. Plus being upgraded with wifi doesn't create new DNA. Machines don't have DNA to combine with humans. You could use nanotechnology but it would be a new form of DNA. You would still be human, asari, krogan etc just augmented in some not real science type of way.

He's forcibly combining organics with reaper tech in the name of evolution...

He says himself he wants to "bring humanity to the very apex of evolution"...

The whole conversation that comes after Saren's metaphors and visions of the future - the one where he responds to Shepard's paragon/renegade responses and then Charm/Intimidate - the one, in, the, OP.... - is where he states his very black-and-white agenda.

That agenda is simply: surrender, or die.

Relationship.

Would you describe synthesis as a relationship? The answer is no, that word is used for intangible concepts.

What happens in synthesis would be much better described as implantation, integration, merger.... just to name a few.

They were only related insofar as they were working together.

Also, have you considered that part of Saren's character is supposedly being charismatic/compelling? That is said many times though ME1. Using colorful/eloquent language is usually associated with that. So maybe "organic and machine intertwined" is just a fancy way of saying a much less compelling statement like "everyone choke and die, then Reapers make us strong!!!"

Yea his agenda is submission.

It doesn't change the fact that Saren approved of some sort of organic/synthetic fusion. The line I quoted doesn't magically disappear just because you choose to ignore the fact that it's there.

Saren was a slave, a tool of the Catalyst. The Catalyst supported Synthesis (or at least it's own particular brand of it, letting the rest of the galaxy get on or not on their own terms... not so much).

But, whatever his orignal agenda or thought process may or may not have been, by the end Saren had completely lost himself.  He supported what he was told to support and opposed what he was told to oppose.
