When multiplayer was first announced, there was a question whether if the elcor or the hanar would be playable in later DLC. Bioware told us "maybe".
Can you see this happening? It would be pretty sweet, but hard because they aren't built to walk or fight with ease. They would have to program completely new animations and graphics. But if they did it anyway, how do you think an elcor, hanar or volus would play? What abilities would they have?
Does this sound good?
Elcor Soldier/Elcor Sentinel
Volus Engineer/Volus Infiltrator
Hanar Adept/Hanar Vanguard
... and no mention of the Biotic God, please. Yes, it's hilarious, but keep it serious. Really think about the option.
So... can you see a hanar/volus/elcor playable?

I think it would be cool to have these guys as playable characters, and their reaper versions as enemies.
Elcor would be tanks, pretty literally, as that's how they fight. Hanar would be fast and agile, moreso than thedrell, but frailer. Volus would only have shields, they get shot and their suit ruptures, they die, they don't seem like a a class that they could make effective in combat.

No. No none-humanized models or something.
It was a funny thought at first, but jeez guys.

Volus Vanguard.
This is my holy grail, my dream, my wish, and I'd stab any one of you in the mouth for it.
It needs to exist damn it!

Not likely, although Volus are technically possible, as they are technically humanoid, just small stubby humans.

This one humbly suggests that the Hanar have as much interest in defending the galaxy as any other race, and that there are several exceptional Hanar operatives who defy the stereotype of weak, ungainly jellyfish.
This one earnestly recommends that those who are skeptical of the Hanar ability to take cover or climb ladders recall that tentacles bend in omnipresent locations and that our unique anatomy gives us a 500% faster ladder-climbing speed.

I see the Hanar as the most possible, as they have the same height as the other races, but I don't see how they could use all the guns, just pistols and SMG's. As for the Volus not surving any bullets, remember the Quarians survive bullets, and Krogan don't reanimate and go into a blood rage.
I could see an Elcor Tank with miniguns on the back, mowing down troops, with an awesome melee stomp, and maybe like a rhino type charge attack.

Though an Elcor would be fun i doubt it as they would require a lot of work to create.

This.
Also, I want an Elcor sentinel to be the ultimate tank imaginable.

we don't even see them in action in sp,
highly doubt the company will go through all the troubles of making them actually playable just so they can release it as mp exclusive for free.
in the future however if they ever make a dlc, paid or not, which includes them as playable races, then yes.

Hanar. A gun in every tentacle. (And a lover in every port.)

While possible, it would be so much effort to implement them, I can't see it happening. Also, Volus fighting? Don't think so.

Only Elcor as absolute tanks. The other two, regrettably, would be mere liabilities...

Well, yes. However it would take an extreme amount of time just to get it to work that it doesn't seem plausible at the moment. Let me explain it like this.
1. Hanar is a species that floats and has tentacles for arms. I believe cover is the biggest problem with these models.
2. Elcor are generally 3 times the size of a human so unless we have a "baby" or "kid" elcor it wouldn't really be possible due to size.
3. Volus are just too small and wide so again, cover is the biggest issue.
Don't get me wrong I would LOVE to play as every species possible. But these 3 seem the least likely.

though it would be a blast...no...no i do not.
the maps arent big enough to play as a Elcor with canon strapped to its back. If and WHEN BW makes a MP GAME for ME...than HELLZ YEAH!! i would also want a Krogan on one of those Dino-Mounts!!! maybe do it BF3...but not FPS..and treat Elcor as vehicles...
Hanar......they would throw the whole game off balance...especially if you could arm all the tentacles...or pick one weapon but it is used 6 times...at minus damage or some junk.
a Volus....hmm....special skill...WEEZ

I thought it was cute at first. But it keeps coming up over and over and over again. The only thing that even comes close to it in terms of obsession are adding Protheans and adding [insert bsn member here]'s mother. It worries me.
Admit you have a problem, BSN. That's the first step to recovery.
(If it makes you feel any better, the Drell are pretty much stand-ins for the Hanar)

Thematically, sure.
Technically? None of them fit the combat animation rigs.
Result: Never gonna happen in ME3. Sorry.

I like Elcor, they're supposed to be tanks in the battlefield. I hope BW arm them with fast-loading missiles/cannons/cains
