Or JRPGs. The FF series and its competitors are great for group-based level grinding.

I don't get what all the hate is for.

"Grinding is for MMO's"

"Go play another game..."

You guys are missing my point. Some of us would like a simple thing like random encounters all the time to be a good thing. I don't care if it "breaks" the game...

Like I've said, I love the game. Great game! But I want to keep playing it, and when I have small bursts of time, there's no reason to play the game. Lots of talking, and sometimes "grinding levels" or "fighting" is just something I would like to do.

No more hate, its pointless...probably just like this thread tbh....

Yeesh ease with the hate, some people are so weird on this board.

Its a COMPLIMENT to the designers that combat can be very fun, just there's not enough of it.

And, for the sake of lore, the Deep Roads should have never ending waves of Darkspawn to fight. It would be the most logical place for such an add on.

That said, the leveling system would be trivialized by endless monsters to fight. Somehow killing in this game feels so much more fun than grinding out exp mobs in EQ or WoW. Well done Bioware on making combat fun.

I don't hate the suggestion. It's really not my style of gameplay, so I'd prefer a DLC option: arena, a series of battlefields, etc. In any case, if you say "level grinding," the first thing I think of is not a Bioware rpg but rather the many hours I put into FF12. Its gambit system is certainly similar to DA:O, which made DA that much easier for me to get into quickly.

Agreed.

Heck...I don't even care if I'm getting XP...maybe loot? Money? Mats for making stuff...anything really. Doesn't have to be the holy "Game breaking XP."

Grinding is a poor choice of words. The OP likes fighting/combat; and wishes there was a place in the game to go for a 10-30 minute hack and slash fest on command.

Not that I am even FOR level-grinding, but how would being level 20 early break the game? The enemies are scaled according to your level. The game would work fine if you played through the whole thing on level 20.

I don't know.... I just like the feeling of starting weak with almost no skills, and working my way up to epic levels. If level 20 was reached fast.... it would no longer be called level 20.

I wish there was an infinite loop of random combat encounters. I love the combat aspect of this game and there simply isn't enough of it.

Well there is a bug at the beginning of the game that allows you to level grind, if you really want to, but you would have to ask in the Spoiler Forums to receive an answer...

This is what I'm looking for!

And a few replies previous, I agree with the Deep Roads thinking.  I would go for that as well.

As for the chicken avatar guy (sorry, forget your name) I agree with the starting weak, getting stronger.  But I have cleared the game.  I like the game enough to want to play more, I just wish there was a feature to do what I'm asking, so that I can play while I'm work.

I don't want to look for stuff, or talk to people.  30 minuites doesn't give you much time for story.  I want ACTION!!!!

Yup. It would be nice, if even just to hit the 'level cap' (25, if I read correctly).

A wasted opportunity, IMHO, is the seeming lack of 'random encounters' on the road after a while (and, no, that Dwarf merchant doesn't really count...). More encounters and/or an 'arena' would be nice.

it's not a level griding type of game this will defiantly not happen it the type of game that you go to kill what you need to kill the level cap which is 20 if not exploiting is easy to get too by end game everyone should have 20 level.

Saying it would break the game is not "hating" it simply is what it is, you'd hit the max level and be bored

I was thinking about this also, but I often find myself traveling back and forth between all areas of the map and maybe run into 1 random encounter.

This could be a "Calling" DLC, a level where you hypothetically go to the deep roads to meet your end. You'd import a character from a finished game, and go to the Deep Roads where you get no exp and the difficulty level creeps up. Would be fun to see how far people can go before dying :).

There are only so many "random" encounters, too. Once you've done them all, well, you'll just keep running into a particular dwarf merchant over and over.

A Deep Roads section where you got to fight Darkspawn for as long as you wanted would be great: even if it only unlocked during the epilogue.

Last time I checked Dragon Age was a story driven game. Go grind in a MMONRPG. N for non-.

I love how everyone wants to be the boss. Like they designed the game. "if you want to do that go to another game". People don't seem to understand the word optional. It's not like it would change anything for them who would choose not to use said area if it existed.
