I don't think anyone was suggesting that the asari are a race of nudists. Obviously they wear clothing in the games. On Illium and Thessia, all the asari were quite obviously clothed. I was only mentioning my personal view that they likely don't consider nudity quite as taboo as human culture does. They seem relatively accepting of sexuality and sensuality, and I just pictured their culture as having things like communal bathing areas. I certainly wouldn't picture them walking down the street or shopping in the buff.
Aye. I mean, they prefer shared living spaces (as mentioned in the codex), they're open and accepting of sensuality and sexuality, they don't have a sex binary to attribute taboos and stigmas to their bodies that we experience (not that they might not have their own, but it's not really mentioned), they're collectivist, their reproduction and social focus is mentally-geared...
As I said before, it's unlikely there are millions of nude asari roaming the streets (again, clothing would likely have more of a social meaning rather than have bio-cultural meanings attached), but communal bathing, nudity around family and friends in a variety of social situations, etc. would probably not be far-fetched.
And I apologize to anyone I might be coming across as somewhat...focused. I just have a love for the study of bodies, gender, sex, etc. and how society and language influence how we perceive them. It's something I've spent some time writing papers on in University so far. So I am kind of passionate about it and can come across as a bit aggressive. Again, apologies.

Edit: And
I think this question has been asked before, but has anyone else ever
had a character in their story step up and force you to put them in a
greater role than originally intended? Of course I wanted to give all of
the characters in my story a prominent role, but one in particular, as
my readers may have noticed, has really grabbed me and demanded greater
chances to shine.
Well, spoilers, i suppose, for those who haven't read my origin fic.
Well, when laying out my fic, there was a character (Faridah, for those who read Flotsam) that was supposed to be very minor and barely noticed in the Earth arc, who would appear later on in the military arc . As I canned the military arc, and as I wrote more about her in the Earth arc, I kind of grew fond of writing her. Instead of leaving some key character development points for Liara to help my Shep work out in the ME arc, I took parts of what I'd assembled for the military years, and the ME arc and worked it into the second half of my origin fic, Faridah taking a prime role in helping my Shepard grow.
Initially, she was supposed to be a reminder of a certain character(Viola) and my Shep's past on Earth, and lead into some introspection and angst, before apologizing to Faridah for acting badly toward her due to what her aunt had done, and forgiving Viola (to a degree) for what she did to my Shep's family.
In short, she was a bit character used as a plot device. She turned into a more fleshed out version of that, and gained a lot more purpose from it.
And i'm very likely bringing another character from my origin fic into my mass effect arc fic Feathers, because I liked writing the few scenes I did with her.
On a side note (which happens to be a bit vain in nature), I somehow just got two new favourites on Flotsam, which I finished a month ago. Just broke 5k views. When I finished Flotsam, it was hovering around 3600 views. A month of no new content, and I got more views in that span than I did probably in May, June and July combined. Wow. Kind of crazy!
Goes to show fics can have longevity!

Edit:
On a side note, why is it that when i'm the busiest with schoolwork and
studying, that my mind is 100% ready to write mass effect fan fiction?
Probably
because you're not as focused on your story and able to let your
subconscious form interesting, novel concepts more easily than if you
were just thinking about writing all the time. Or your life stuff just
has really bad timing. Either way, I find that I'm the most productive
with my writing when I'm desperately trying to avoid other work.
Could certainly be one of those. I'm not really looking forward to the hours of studying I have ahead of me, nor the assignments. I want to not do that stuff, but I know I need to. Maybe my mind's just really active right now from all the studying, and in its effort to get me away from studying, it wants me to write all these cool things. Augh!
But yeah, good points. You could be onto something!
