99% of the PUGs I played with will heal and cooperate, bar the odd ball who's usually running elsewhere during pizza service. Had a game with 3 Volus yesterday.:lol::lol: I was playing a human Sentinel.

We spent a few seconds looking one another up after we popped in. It's funny as they were facing one another, as if they were having a conference... hisssss....hisssss

I haven't a Volus yet but I wasn't spending my credits much except for consumables. One of the Volus engineers in another game set up his mines to good effect, blastng off groups as they rushed in to the LZ.

I lucked out and got both of the Volus characters. I actually like them both. And I love the fact that both of them cloak if you use light melee instead of attacking. Such a useful little addition, given how squishy they are. But that Recon Mine of the Volus Engineer is awesome. Now I just want to get my Asari Valkyrie. And the Asari Infiltrator when it finally becomes available. It was in my character lineup when I first downloaded the new add-on, and then it vanished. I assume that means they didn't mean to leak it...

Edit: I wish XBox could do screen captures. This pack I just opened is funny. +5 Ops Survival Packs, M-15 Vindicator IX, Stabilization Module III, and..... Volus Adept and Volus Engineer. Both Volus in the same pack!

Question for you lot, im thinking of just writing a little after the "Destroy ending piece" for my shepard, where do you lot figure the breathing scene takes place? weaving that into the start is pretty integral and i really casnt think of a plausable reason why it'd be on earth, or why theres be citadel rubble and she'd survive

^ I always figured it was on the citadel. While yes, the citadel was badly damaged when the crucible fired, I just assumed there would be enough of it intact that it might still have airtight barriers in some areas. It can't be Earth. If Shepard on the citadel when the crucible went off, I just can't see survival as a possibility through the crucible firing, the citadel shattering, and reentry into Earth's atmosphere.

As for when the breath was taken? It would have to be within a span of minutes. Beyond that, without oxygen, the brain starts to suffer irreparable damage.

Yeah im just having trouble getting my Shepard from the Citadel to Earth unnoticed because thats where i want the first part to take place at least, on earth with her off the grid for a bit, any survivor rescues on the citadel are going to recognise Shepard and be all over her, i'll throw around some more ideas, cheers :)

I figured Shepard would still be on the citadel. I mean the citadel is advance technololy in itself, maybe it has emergency barriers that activate during somthing this extreme. or parts of the citadel close off or something activating life support. That's what I figured anyway. Good luck on your storyPosted Image

A quickie on colloquialisms.  Does the term 'brownie points' mean anything to those outside the UK?  I like the term, but it might be very UK-centric.

:)

^ Nope. I know the term, and I live in the US. So at least here we'd probably get you too.

I definitely know the term "brownie points". Pretty sure it's fairly common here in North America, where scatological jokes are pretty much part of the general culture.

I think whether known or not, the context would indicate its meaning.

"I did the dishes for mum today, that's worth a few brownie points." and such like.

Originally from the 'Brownies', the girls scouts for younger girls in the UK. System of merits kind of thing. Though a Brownie is a mischievous imp so go figure... hehe.

I got the two Volus and tried the engineer. Dang, he's very squishy. I also found that he cannot duck behind covers, so his head is there for the taking if he's standing behind a low ledge. :pinched:  Also very disconcerting because of the low viewpoint.

Question about Aria T'Loak. Her history beyond her time at Omega is little known, but I would assume this was not her name back then. Is this known anywhere from novels or whatnot?

There's a theory that she is the Aleena that Wrex mentions in ME1.

I think someone pointed out that "Better luck next time" is something Aria says, too.

I would have though that Aria's too high profile for Wrex not to realise or mention it.  Though that said, Aira wasn't in the story until ME2 and the conversations between Wrex and Shep haven't really gone that route.  Maybe in the Omega DLC eh?  That being the case, I just won't mention it.  I wanted a 'certain character' to use Aria's real name when talking about Liselle but the scene can cope without it I think.

Ta hotty.

If it is true, could be that the writers forgot between games, given Wrex's non-squadmates status (booo!). Plus, there was no real 'natural' way to bring it up in ME2, anyway.

Otherwise, what's to say Aleena was her real name either? Could be another alias. And I don't think creating your own name for her would be a problem, since it serves a purpose. Might even be more resonant if many people only know her aliases.

This will be the last time I bring multiplayer into the thread, I promise, since this isn't the point of the thread. But I want to point out that the Shield Boost ability makes the Volus Engineer basically unkillable (on Bronze) if you play carefully and don't let yourself get cornered. You just have to avoid using any other ability when there are enemies near so that your shield boost is never on cooldown when you need it. The second your shields drop, boost and get them back. By the time the enemies can knock them down again, the ability is off cooldown, so you can bring them right back up. When things get tight, drop a recon mine, cloak and run for the far end of the map to do it all again. I've only failed to solo extract 1 out of 10 times with the Volus, and my one fail was because I foolishly ran into a turret's line of fire right after using the boost against Cerberus.

This is for bronze, of course. On higher difficulties, it seems that the Volus gets progressively harder to do well with. Tried him on gold, and got gunned down so fast it wasn't even funny. But then, that was just an experiment that I knew I'd fail... I'm not one of those guys that's good enough to solo gold... especially with a squishy character.

What?  Like they 'forgot' that Vido Santiago runs the Blue Suns?  Hehe.  (Cue someone telling me about some novel I didn't read that explains that one...)

And also on the MP front... (sorry)  I dont' often play MP but had a run around today (still want an asari adept).  The squad had little or no interest in the objectives when they came up and most of the time didn't even bother reviving anyone.  Then when I'd done my best to get the Reaper data to the drop zone (mostly alone) but died in the process and all but one were dead, the one survivor picked up the data and dropped it off.  Then he had the cheek to say "Thanks for nothing, guys."  Grrr.  Almost tempted to get a headset just so I can retort to idiots like that.

That was why I muted people.

Had this game where some idiot had gotten himself killed far back, past a load of geth troopers. I think another player had tried to get to him but had died as well, while the other remaining teammate would be struck down across the other side of the map during the whole kerfuffle. This was back when pyros were still pretty dangerous (still are to some extent), so I'd theorised that's what had killed him, and there was no way I could get to him in time with an asari adept; it's pointless because you're pretty weak and can't use stasis on pyros (otherwise, multiple hunters can be a hassle).

Essentially, I was split between two sets of dying teammates and elected to rush toward neither. Instead, I just made sure I was careful and survived. After that, I get a sarcastic "Thanks for all the help there." :pinched:
