*blink-blink* Seracen, did you just parody a They Might be Giants song? because I swear my brain went directly to Triangle Man with your anonymous man poem/lyric/parody...
and yes, my summer is off to a fabulous start, thanks! and despite what follows, that's not sarcasm... *smiles* woke up this morning to find my little sister on my laptop, happily typing up her own little story... in the middle of one of my stories! she did the same thing to me a week and a half ago by typing "its so fluffy I could die its so fluffy I could die..." over and over for 15 lines in one of my term papers while I was downstairs for a few minutes. it's adorable that she wants to share my hobbies, but she's old enough that I know she does these things to harass me (in a good-natured sibling way), not because she actually thinks she's helping. thankfully modern technology makes it convenient to fix these little sisterly assists. my younger sister Lisa (the eldest of my little sisters) kindly pointed out to me how much worse it would have been if we were still using paper and pen for schoolwork like our mom had to... *shudders*
oh, that leads me to a (sort-of) writing question. or in my case, actually a reading question. I recently read a story in which the author included a little brother for the main protagonist who was supposed to be six years old, but the behavior and dialogue was more consistent with 3 than 6. do people just forget how smart they were as a child as they get older if they aren't around kids? is this something a lot of writers struggle with? I admit that even I sometimes can't remember how smart I was when I was my baby sister's age, because she will occasionally do or say something that has me going "OMG... was I that perceptive when I was her age?" because if a lot of people forget how smart they were as children, I have a feeling I'm going to get criticism on some of my stories for my kids being too "grown-up" when I'm just accurately portraying a character by the example of the 6 and 7 year olds I know...
sorry I can't chime in on the mods thing. that's the one and only thing that makes me jealous of PC gamers is mods. I have an Xbox because it doesn't require upgrades to keep up with the latest game requirements. for a girl who has never had a regular job (summer and Christmas temp jobs, yes, but no regular jobs until I finish school) PC gaming is just too expensive. I was able to play some PC games at one point, but after my computer finally quit on me, that ended. this laptop is so old and worn out that it occasionally blue-screens on me just trying to play facebook games with my grandma... *sigh*
oh, and before I go, where is your new avatar from, your Stoobness?
