I haven't because I've also heard it's pretty expensive for everyday eating ($20+/person). I would like to try it out one day when I'm feeling reckless and crazy with  my money :)

Not sure about the pancake/bunch place. I may have an idea, but I can't be sure unless you happen to remember cross-streets or the nearest landmark.

Ah yeah, Tojo's was a bit of a treat, I'll admit, but totally worth it. And, a Google search for "Vancouver brunch panckaes" got me the name of the place - 1st result. Jethro's Fine Grub?

Just finished listening to the podcast on youtube...

In short, they said that they've just added a couple of cinematics and an epilogue sequence. No changes to the ending.

*Sigh* Whatever. I'm off to continue writing my story.

Never heard of it, but holy crap, does the menu look good. I'll check it out next time I'm around the area.

Well worth it, but be prepared to wait an hour or so, especially on a weekend... your mention of Vancouver made me go flicking through my old facebook photos... here's the 97% I didn't manage to eat:

Gosh, the process of writing this new one-shot is actually making me cry. I think it's time to leave it alone!

It's making you cry? o_O; What's happening over there?

Also, that pancake is ridiculous. I don't even--

Maybe you should try out Anton's next time you're in Vancouver. Italian food, have to wait in a line outside, big portions that rarely anyone finishes in one go. I'm sure you're already familiar with the experience.

Holy crap! That's huge! And inspired this character question of the day: What is your Shep/important OC's favourite food?

For me: Damon Shepard is fond of breakfast foods (eggs, bacon, sausage and pancakes) thanks to an event that happened in Chapter 2 of Conversations.

Robbie/R.J. is an easy-going guy and a biotic so he'll pretty much eat anything but he's happiest with beer and pizza and the like.

Tess is old-fashioned (also she lives above a pub) so she prefers old-fashioned comfort foods: meat pies and fish and chips (and maple syrup - she's half Canadian after all).

Someone is dying :(

Unfortunately it will probably be a long while till I'm next able to visit Vancouver... but I'll bear that in mind ;)

Sadly, if you ever visit England, the food is... well... pretty bland.

Good question - I haven't really thought about it yet. Shep's made a mean steak so far, but as for favourite... mmhmmm...

Speaking from experience. Don't leave it alone. Continue writing while you're bawling your eyes out, if you have to. Just get it all out of your system, otherwise you'll just come back to it and start crying again. (This has happened to me more than once. It's easier to just get it over with - not that it doesn't feel slightly rediculous to be sitting in your kitchen crying over pixel people but the best writing gets you attached to the characters so *shrug*)

My Shep likes to snack a lot because she's a biotic and constantly has to eat. She likes this odd, crunchy, plant/vegetable thing the batarians make and package to the Citadel that resembles a potato chip. She hates the batarians, but she has to admit they make good chip thingies.

@noxiuniversitas1: I have been to England. The food wasn't the most memorable experience of my trip. Pretty cool historical landmarks though. London traffic is horrible.

Yeah I definitely see where you're coming from. It's not so much the character attachment, though.. more experience than anything. That... and I think my other half might just pull the plug on my PC otherwise ;)

Yeah, I hate London... the best way to get around is the Underground and on foot, IMO. Did you just visit London, then?

Although it will be only mentioned further in the story but my Shepard is rather fond of grilled vegetables, bacon and Caesar salad.

Gallardi was grown on Imperial military rations and therefore he is not very picky about the food. However, ever since he became an officer, he enjoyed having a grox steak now and then. Which is bad, because there are no groxes in ME universe. Or, maybe there are but they were not discovered yet.

Maeteris is very simple - bread, salad leaves and some simple vegetables. She also likes fruit but due to her nature she has to limit herself to a single fruit a day.

I wouldn't blame people for visiting London, but there are better places in England to visit. Particularly the more rural areas.

Hi all.

Quick query on a dilemma I've created for myself. I added a chapter to my story prematurely and want to remove it. I've posted a non-chapter to explain that I will do so, to anyone who has been reading it.

How do the group feel about publishing, then pulling chapters?

If you feel it's for the best, I say why not?

Personally, I didn't have too much issue with the chapter. It was a decent time-jump for certain, but wasn't a poorly written chapter. Just seemed slightly out of place, but that said, you did jump up the timeline fairly quickly throughout your fic, so it's not entirely out of sync with what you've already established. I think I'm just used to origin fics jumping around until the in game events hit, where it's slowed down considerably.

If you want to review it and feel that action is best to ensure fluidity in the story, then go for it. I don't see the harm in it.

Cheers.  I had other ideas that just weren't working for me, re: Liara &Shep's first meeting but it started just being the original scene, which I didn't think was necessary.  But I think I can make it work a bit better now I've had time to stop writing for a mo and reflect.  Thanks for saying that it wasn't a bad chapter, but I think it jarred too much.

Yeah. Went out a bit to Cambridge and Shakespeare's birthplace. For the life of me, I can't recall the other areas' names. I just remember hills and stones and castles. Not that all of English is comprised of those things.

Camden market was really cool, I thought. Europe is way ahead of the fashion in North America.

Shepard: "Mom's Tuna-casserole. You simply can't beat it."
Important OC: [Pre-divergence]"I care not for taste. Whatever helps maintain my high-energy life. Also, a blender would be nice." [Post-divergence]"The closest thing it resembles in the Human diet is Bacon. I think that says enough."

I have a personal technique for such cases - I reread a couple of my last chapters and when I reach the end I remember that while I know what happens next, there are readers who don't but they really want to know.

And that no one but me can tell them the rest of the story. Usualy, it immediately inspires me to write more.:P

I just got entangled in it myself…I have to get to writing or I might get stomped :(

(Is it wrong to appreciate threats of bodily harm in event of delayed chapter output?)

Those are all great suggestions! (P.S. Hot_heart: I prefer to not Disturb Garrus' Calibrations, truth be told!).

I think i need to get off these boards. I may actually give myself an aneurysm if I keep brewing over all of this (DO NOT watch the new vid with the CH and MW interview). I'm taking a break, then I'll come back to the fic with a lighter brain.

Appreciating threats of bodily harm....as long as it makes you write more?
