Finally got my story on Fan Fic, curse the two day wait, Also quick question regarding Ansari. With this taking of the DNA, would pregnancy be immediate or could they just like store it somewhere for the future, just wondering cause it's not something done by a sexual act.

http://www.fanfictio...497/1/Turnabout

It’s left for you to decide. However, if you like, you’re welcome to use what I wrote in Introduction to Asari Physiology, it’s intended to be used as a resource:

“While humans have for some time not needed to particularly worry about accidental pregnancies, the entire concept is foreign to asari. A child is always conceived intentionally, and both parties are acutely aware of the process which, depending a little on the father species, lasts anywhere from 2 to 6 hours. Asari cannot and will not become pregnant from intercourse, or just a 'normal' Joining.”

(There’s some additional detail beyond that in the link.)

Good to see you back around, MidnightRaith!

Yeah, good to be back. Got a bit distracted trying to play through ME1 so I can get to ME3. (Long story, 360 went 'splodey, lost my original Shepards and I've only been able to experience ME3 via youtube because I refuse to play without imports so I moved to PC.) And then I got writers block and then the EC disappointed me so I withdrew for a bit to think about in depth. I still don't like it, but I got over a lot of my disappointment and for some reason that spurred me to start writing this fic again.

Also, nice avatar :) Glad to see someone else with taste ;)

Asari and Quarians are great. Two of my favorite races in ME. But what's wrong with my Brogan, Wrex? Posted Image

Whoa, nothing against Wrex. I mean, he's my favourite Krogan (though bakara is right up there with him). Love the guy.

I mean, you've got good taste using wrex. It's just a different taste.  Like comparing chipotle to smoky bbq.

That's a pretty bad time :( Glad you're writing again, though. Take control of the ME and give yourself those ending bits you know should have been there :)

Hrm, I suppose I should finish off these last five hundred or so words of my next chapter....I've been procrastinating like a professional.

I approve of Drussius' statement. Quarians are pretty hot.

Is he technically a grandpa? I didn't think he actually had any kids of his own prior to the genophage cure. I might have missed those details though.

I mean, if he hadn't, then he isn't even a father.

He's just sexy Wrexy.

Ok, so, I'm refining my Timeline for Shepard. Anyone know if I missed anything or have some details wrong or maybe I have some math wrong? (I'm horrible with math. -_-')

2154 - April 11th - Shepard is born

2157 - First Contact War (Age 7)

2168 - Shep is exposed to E0 for a second time (Anyone have a source on this one?) (14)

2170 - Mindoir is attacked by Batarian Slavers. Shepard is the only one who escapes. (16)

2171 - Shepard trains for Alliance Military Enlistment. Shepard is confirmed as a Biotic. (17)

2172 - Shepard enlists in Alliance Military on April 11th (18)

2176 - Skylien Blitz. Shepard holds the line on his own for days. (21)

2177 - Shepard's Team on Akuze is killed. Shepard is the only known survivor. (22)

2178 - Shepard participates in retaliation for the Skulian Blitz on Torfan. (23)

2183 - Shepard is assigned to the Normandy SR1 under Admiral David Anderson. Mass Effect 1. December 15th - Shepard is killed during destruction of the Normandy. (28)

2185 - January 6th - Shepard is revived and Mass Effect 2 continues. (30)

2186 - January - Mass Effect 2: Arrival. Shepard is detailed following Bahak's Destruction April - Shepard turns 31. July - Mass Effect 3 begins.

2187 - April 12th - Shepard defeats the Reapers but it left in critical condition. (32)

Not sure if this is completely accurate but I made some guesses on how long each game took place and had some help from the Wiki.

Please and Thank yous.

Just on a small lore element on a Post ME3 story that I'm working on: anything about Cryogenic Storage in the ME Universe?

I'm just working on a new Fan-Fic set two hundred years post Crucible, in which the Alliance has begun to look to Star Clusters outside the Relay Network for finding new Garden Worlds, and this means longer, more lengthy travel, so a 'Stasis' of the crew is a requirement.

I've been going over a few ideas, and I wondered which would be more suited: a Sleeper Pod; like those already installed on Alliance star ships, old school Si-Fi Cryogenic storage or some new form of Stasis?

The second eezo exposure is something I can't figure out. In what situation is Shepard in any of the backgrounds going to be exposed to eezo again? Surely having a second ship crash a few miles upwind again is a bit too much....

It was something mentioned on the Wiki and it wasn't tied to any of the backgrounds.

Mostly looks good. The only thing I would comment on is that the Daily News thing they had going seemed to coincide with game dates as well. Which would put the start of Mass Effect 3 on March 6th, just like the release date. Since the news about the Batarian communications troubles and their mass exodus from their own system took place on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th, I believe.

As for the end of ME3? Who knows really? All that travel from system to system could take a while.

How does that work if Shepard is 14 at the time? Shepard would still be going through their background life unless all the Shepards go to the same location at some point in each of the three backgrounds which I also can't see working considering Earthborn Shep is a poor orphan that's stuck in the city, Mindoir Shep probably stays on or near Mindoir their entire life until the attack and Spacer Shep is going to be on a ship more likely than not..... I really just tend to ignore the second dose of eezo since I can't figure out a plausible situation for it.

I could see Mindoir Shep being exposed through a E0 deposit on Mindoir or something, but not sure about Spacer or Earthborn.

I also somewhat question Shepard being confirmed a Biotic a year after Mindoir, as I can't see Shep fighting of the Batarians at 16 with only guns. Hmmmm...

I dunno. If you're taught to hunt and shoot at a young age, you can be pretty alright with just a gun. You wouldn't go to town on the Batarians like Mass Effect Commander Shepard, but a 16 year old with a trained shot and a familiar gun could do some damage in the chaos of the Mindoir attack.

I had my Shep be exposed a second time 'by accident' during an attack on the orphanage. I mean, if you take what Kaiden mentions about Conatix, and twist it a bit into the backstory...some more plausible scenarios open up. Perhaps not for Spacer shep...I can't see an Alliance vessel being contaminated like that, all things considered. Mindoir and Earthborn sheps, though? Sure.

The only way I see it working for Spacer Shep is if young Shep is on a small ship that crash lands and the eezo core is compromised, though not destroyed. Somehow, Shep survives this and so begins Shepard's affinity to surviving the impossible....

Well, at least I'm thinking of this ahead of time. I have a few chapters before any of this would ever be brought up. Next one or two chapters one the Squaddies left on Earth (Kasumi, Zaeed, Grunt, Jack, ete.) and then a chapter or two on the Normandy Squaddies. After that, Time to have flashbacks to Shepard's past.

Though, I'm still trying to figure out how I want that to work. Since I chose Destroy, EDI is dead, and she could have been a very useful way of getting information about Shepard to the group. I suppose I could use Liara to give articles and photographs of the Young!Shepard but I don't feel like that had the same emotion.

Not sure if anyone has brought this up yet, but got any ideas on reviving EDI? Best guess I can come up with is that she wasn't made from enough Reaper tech to do perminant damage, but that slightly feels a bit like cheating. Maybe her previous typical AI self is reinstated (Hard Reboot) and she eventually edits her programing again to bring her back to where she was before?

Trying an estimate of the building process of the Crucible might work. Scientis + Workers + Materials = how long? There should be some slight hitches along te way as scientists try to figure out or come to a consensus on some parts or perhaps come up with improvements (Shep kept running into a few doing her peon act) although tis said the plans were easy to follow.

What better group of children to 'test' eezo than a bunch of orphans, from a dark ops point of view? It is mentioned that some of the eezo 'accidents' might have been on purpose to boost the number of available human biotics.

True, and I could see this working for colonists as well since they are so far out from the Alliance, that they can't properly respond to disasters or threats to many of the colonies in some cases. However, Spacer Shep snags on this again considering this Shep lives in the heart of the Alliance. I can't see anyone purposely sabotaging a ship right under the Alliance's nose for fear of being discovered outright.

Haha, yeah. Kind of the angle I've been going for.
They're a disposable group of 'participants'. Who's going to notice a bunch of dead orphans? And, if they live and gain biotics, who's going to be able to feed and shelter said orphans?

Maybe Shepard, being a 14 year old, just simply got too close to the E0 Reactor or something?
