Ok Busomjack but even so TOR is pretty much a WoW clone offering nothing different unlike say Guild Wars 2 or Secret World. Hell Secret World has way better writing and characters.

I enjoy TOR, but then, I never really played any other MMO's, so the lack of gameplay innovation isn't something I really care about. I'd love more features and the like, but it's solid. But again, I don't need innovation.

Same person.  Busomjack is a poster who is known for being a troll.  He likes to create Mass Effect threads saying that Femshep should be weaker than Mshep, and instead of intimidating opponents renegade female shepard should seduce them.  And he's gotten banned for accusing all PC gamers for being pirates.  Amoung other things.  He's had other accounts all of which have some vegetable themed name, and the same avatar.  And he's not very subtle.

Don't forget the weight lifting videos and pics of his dreamcast collection that he would post up with alts to act like he was so awesome.

Why don't mods just block his URL from being able to access this site?

You again? I'd have thought you gave up trolling this place months ago - you're a dedicated one, I'll give you that.

I think you mean IP's. URL's are well website domains, not a something a net user has.

On the one hand the last digits can move around or reset, leaving an IP ban only good for at the most 24 hours, you can also hide behind proxies, etc etc. And in part I don't know if they know how to do a cross range IP block. Which would lock someone out for good unless they had a fully new IP. But it also would ban anyone else with an IP remotely like it.

It is a real shame.
The Old Republic is an amazing MMORPG, probably the best one ever made but it's thanks to misinformation spread by EA haters who will automatically hate and smear anything just because it has an EA logo and Activision's marketing muscle that The Old Republic cannot get the fame it deserves.

Still, the game has far more subscribers than most MMORPG's. What's needed is perhaps a really cool update or expansion pack and perhaps that will breathe new life into the game.

LOL I was in the beta..... Far from the best ever made LMAO it had some good concepts but its boggled down by the one thing about MMO's hate the most..... Grinding there are much better MMO's that make the grinding less tedious.  They should've focused on better gameplay than OOOH VOICE ACTING!!!

Yeah that was obvious to me as well but I figured I'd play along first.

And once again, whether or not KotOR 3 ever gets made has never been Bioware's decision.  Lucasarts controls what happens with the Star Wars licence.  They were working on KotOR 3 at one point, but canceled it, supposedly to focus more on the Force Unleashed 2.

... Hopefully that's not true. Because that would be absolutely absurd.

I was in two betas, and have been playing for a few months now. Not only is the VO top notch (eg; Jennifer Hale, Steve Blum, Timothy Odmundson, etc), but this grinding thing is optional, I believe. While there are assignments to Kill x number of Y, almost all of these are Bonus quests added along the way of the Missions.

And this is not the reason for layoffs; tis more to do with a poor global economy. IMO.

I was just posting my thoughts on my time with it.  The VO and story (at least with the sith inquistor were awesome but the gameplay just brought me back to WoW and I didn't quit WoW just to replace it with Starwars WoW.

It's really sad that he is the most famous troll BSN has ever had. This forum needs better trolls.:?

It was the community that killed TOR for me. I know that sounds pretty arrogant but I don't know how else to explain it. I had few problems meeting people and clubbing monsters in WoW and LotRO. In TOR people just didn't seem interested in the multiplayer aspect.

I finally joined a guild. There was another old WoW player and myself. We talked. The rest were just... not there. Not really sure why we even had a guild. Then I quit. If I'm going to play a singleplayer game, I want awesome singleplayer mechanics instead.

Never played WoW, so nothing for me to compare. But I do know WoW did not have full VO, Crew Skills & Crafting, and a few other unique implementations. For me, I enjoy the stories, and the gameplay is easy enough for me to handle

I generally prefer to focus on what is there, as opposed to what is not; my comparisons being limited to KOTOR, and this time, I choose to skip using any stims. Plus this time, I enjoy the Ship combat; use this instead of using Heroic 4+, WZ, etc. And with the upcoming patch, I believe I will be able to increase rewards here and for questing even more.

Why grind? Optional....

Based soley on info from some of the Bioware folks here, and their 'Guild' on CoH, why not get your own group? believe you only need 6 for a listing; not my cup of tea, but could allow you to get a few friends to play on occasions.

Didn't even know there was ship combat.  As for crew skills and crafting... felt like gimmics and I forgot about them.  the Voice acting was what really hooked me but not enough to pay especially when I can't even afford to.  My policy is a MMO has to really really really impress me or Free 2 play... As it stands so far the only MMO thats impressing me is going to be Free to play anyway so no skin off my back.  Maybe what TOR had is enough to keep you enjoying it thats awesome but there was a point during my time with the beta that made me go no thanks I feel like I already did this.

I have not crafted much of anything yet, but being able to have Crew run Missions during mini-games or OOG time allows for more credits to be spent on desired gear. I have one PC with Cybertech, to make all my Legacy characters Ship Upgrades; not there yet.

Every character gains a ship, and can have up to 5 Companions; 4 of which can run Crew Missions.

I do get the cost factor, as I am now unemployed, and all my time is gifted. But F2P is not for me; am hoping for something else rather than micro-transactions. So for 50 cents a day, I currently have something else to occupy my time, as well as NWN1. Seeing as I am used to spending $2.50 per day on Diet Coke when I was working, I am OK with it for now.

As someone who has always tried to become a top crafter in MMO's and spent the better part of two years of Star Wars Galaxies as a full time crafter I have to say TOR's crafting system hurts us. Anyone can craft the best stuff with out going out of their way in SWG I crafted stuff for the more PVE and PvP focused players and they brought me some materials to make. Frankly I don't know of any themepark MMO with a crafting system that doesn't take a backseat to PvE or PvP content.

Unless if Everquest 2 counts as a themepark not very sure. EQ2 had decent crafting and that's what dissapointed me about TOR. Daniel Erickson said crafters would be able to make some of the best stuff on the entire server and that's just not true. Pvp gear with mods bought with commendations are much better than anything else.

I can't talk too much about it, but you are going to be able to make stuff that is among the top stuff on the entire servers.

I guess it's my fault for building it up in my head but wtf Bioware obviously worked with Lucas Arts. Star Wars Galaxies had the best crafting system ever made for an MMO and none of that innovation there found it's way too TOR.
