I'll post 2 of my fave songs from some good 90's and newer bands that no one listens too or is very underrated.

Sons of Kyuss - Isolation Desolation
Kyuss - Allen's Wrench

Full on the Mouth - Another
Full on the Mouth - My Infection

Mother Love Bone - Crown of Thorns
Mother Love Bone - This is Shangrila

Band of Horses - The Funeral
Band of Horses - Detlef Schrempf

Tom Vek - A Chore
Tom Vek - Nothing but Green Lights

Also if you ever get into Hip-hop let me know. I know tons of great hip-hop. Not the garbage you hear on the radio.

Be more specific about what you want.  Also they aren't all 90's.  Tom Vek and Band of Horses are current..

If you're into alternative rock and stuff:

Cosmic Castaway - Electrasy

You probably already know the Foo Fighters, they're worth checking out too.

OK then. I was typing up a post earlier but the formatting got messed up when I tried to type a hyperlink. Here's just the links to the songs, minus the explanations for them, which you should be able to figure out on your own. All are from the 2000's, some more recent than others.

mind.in.a.box - Walking

No Tomorrow - Funker Vogt

Death Dies Hard - Deathstars

The Farthest Star - VNV Nation

Kingdom - VNV Nation

I don't listen to Rock. I sadly find most of current pop, country and rap garbage. So I listen to old stuffs and certainly classic music.
I just hope for more interesting Soul, Blues, Jazz, reggae which are rare.

I can only recommend obscure stuff that doesn't follow a strict framework (and might come off as "weird" or "atmospheric", though I don't get what that means really). Anyways... here's a few:

Russian Circles

Animals As Leaders

Porcupine Tree

another Porcupine Tree

Black Math Horseman

Oh, and have you listened to Radiohead's In Rainbows?

(these are from the top of my head... I'd easily come up with other names and different genres)

Or maybe rather than new music, you'd like to find some good oldies?

King Crimson - One More Red Nightmare

+ Fallen Angel

+ An even more atmospheric piece.

I always recommend prog. Btw, it's a very broad category, and the bands I listen in my first post were also progressive - though not the more classical kind. Also, I can say with confidence, it most always takes a few listens to understand properly.

I for one got into prog via a not-so-much-prog album of Yes, Going for the One.

Also, I'd recommend ELP and (early) Genesis.

Oh, when talking about prog, one should mention Gentle Giant

From more modern genres, I'd like to mention a few.

Azealia Banks - 212
for a good female hip hop beat
Fierce.

From rather different stuff, I really enjoy this remix of a modern-like dancing-friendly song.

This Bashful is pretty nice.

For 90's only stuff not on your list...

Eagle Eye Cherry
Goo Goo Dolls
Sneaker Pimps
Lamb
Garbage
Massive Attack
Incubus

Sorry, but you've got some odd specificity in what you're looking for.

Why does it matter what year the music was made? Good music is good music.

Not 2011-2012 new, but from 2009 IIRC Dark Was The Night was an excellent album with quite a few quality artists (Andrew Bird, Leslie Feist, Ben Gibbard, Grizzly Bear, etc). It has quite a few different styles some rap, instrumental, folk, alternative, etc.

A few 2011/12 songs I've liked so far.

Colours - GroupLove
Foster The People - Pumped up Kicks
Lonely Boy - The Black Keys

Although I doubt I got close to your taste. The only artists I liked on your list were Queen, Led Zeppelin, The White Stripes and Cage the Elephants.

edit: Not 2011/12, but 2010 Crystal Castles are excellent and have another album releasing this year.

You shouldn't promote Fiest, she's a horrible person to promote good music. And Gibbard only wrote good stuff in Death Cab and the Postal Service.

I think Feist is alright. I like her much more as a featured artist rather than her being solo though. Didn't care much for her new stuff Metals or whatever either.

Well that is like 80% of Gibbard's stuff Death Cab and The Postal Service. He tried to do some stuff with Zoeey that failed miserably IIRC. I never really listened his early stuff (All Time Quarterback).

Neither will omg wow you, but I think they're quality/okay most of the time.

Lifehouse. I like their early work the most, but they are still making music and it's still great.

All In (latest song)
First Time
Hanging by a Moment (first single)

Within Temptation
Faster (first single of new album)
Shot in the Dark
