I am currently playing Dragon Age Origin and Awakening, but DO NOT have updates 1.03 and 1.04.

On the patch pages where you can download patches for PC DVD patch updates it says there is an update available for Steam that you can get though the steam game updates.

I have contacted Steam and asked them for advice on this, my client updater is working perfectly but says no update is detected.

Is the patch available? and if so why are my Bioware games not getting the update when all my other games are?

Thanks

I think you need to double check your game's version... see the "Read First" post pinned towards the top of this thread to find out how to do that. Awakening installs patch 1.03 upon installation, so either you're reading something wrong or Steam has screwed up... which means you need to post on the Steam forums.

AH! Thanks, it's still 1.02, so I'll contact Steam again and tell them they've ripped me off. Thanks, RaenImrahl! :D

Ugh i've been having this issue myself also, Steam doesnt update the ultimate edition automatically...
and to make it worse steam support just tells me to whine to EA not to them, and ea support
gives me Sorry, service temporarily unavailable so i have no way to get the 1.05 for origins i guess.

You can use the CD Key for your Steam-version of the game to download it directly from EA, and then patch it to 1.05.  This will require backing up your saved games, uninstalling the Steam version, and then installing EA's Origin client.

Quite a bit of trouble for something you'd think they needed to fix, but guess it cant be helped.
Thanks for the tip, wonder if it works out for me in the end though since i cant even login
to EA's support or origins or anything because of that service not available error.

Propably not the best example of good customer service on their side, STEAM tells me to complain to EA and EA's site has boatload of issues it seems...community help is 100% better.

PS* Got the problem with EA solved by installing origin and using it's support instead of the website, worked out and now i have EA version, but i gotta say steam support is one steaming pile of dung.

Took me ages to get any sensible answer out of them and it wasnt of any use, once i got it working EA solved the issue fast and painless!
