Morinth's role in ME3 needed to be much bigger, if you sided with her in 2 you are probably the fist person in her life to trust her and in 3 it meant nothing.

What are you talking about? Plenty of people trusted her. And then she proceeded to murder them.

What the good lad/lass probably means is that you are the first person in her life to know what she is and not treat her like she is an abomination to be purged.

That's exactly what I mean.

But they only tursted her becaues of her abilty to manipulate people, Shepard chose to trust her.

She then violated that trust by attempting to kill Shepard again. She is a monster, and her kind need to be cleansed. I would wipe out all of them just to be safe. The galaxy would be a better place because of it.

Hey now! Falare and Rela were willingly in the Monestary! It's only the ones that choose to kill that need to be taken out. And that's why I have so much respect for Samara. She knew her daughter needed to be stopped, and instead of burrying her head in the sand she gave up everything to do so.

Ah, there you go again with your speciesism.  It's kind of cute, in a stubborn way.

Falere and Rila were examples of the fact that there are some Ardat-Yakshi's who are worth saving - not all of them trend to become serial killers.

Also, for every "Morinth" out there that deserves to be purges, we can point to just as many psychotic humans out there that also need to be rid of.  Remember the email with that "Billy", who escapes from Purgatory and promises to murder you?

I would kill Billy as well.

None of this changes the fact that Morinth is a monster, and only a fool would invite her to their party.
She confirms this by attempting to kill Shepard.

There is no hope of redemption for her, and she does not deserve to be given the chance. She must pay for her crimes, with her death. Even that is not a punishment worthy of what she deserves.

From what I remember that only happens if Shepared choose to believe he might be able to survive joining with her.

I have to agree, I wasn't a huge fan of Jack in ME2 but the growth of her character in 3 made her one of my favorites.

Who doesn't?

She is ridiculously awesome in every way.

She simply HAS to get her own DLC mission after the EC is done and dusted.

Biowares lack of effort when it came to properly concluding ME2 romances was shocking... Especially considering how popular some of the characters were.

I agree, she was handled poorly in ME3. I actually pretty much said the exact same thing over on my post. http://social.biowar.../index/12121441

I couldn't care less for a character than Morinth.
Disliked her from the first time I saw her. Definatly perfer Samara over that Ardat-Yakshi..

I"m not super pro-Morinth or anything, but I never liked Samara.  At all.  I usually see Morinth as being worse, but really I never used either of them for long.  They never fit my playstyles, and their personalities just annoyed me; that might be because Morinth spends 99% of her time pretending to be Samara.

in any case, I think that having Morinth quietly turn into a Banshee is a case of wasted potential.  If they're gonna do it, they should make it big, ya know?  A nice 5-second cut scene of her turning, and then coming after Shepard.  It's as disappointing int its way as Jacob ditching femShep or no one from the crew mentioning Thane's death.

As previous posters have said, wasted potential.

I like how many just pretends Morinth is so different when she is not. She portrays the dangerous side/drama of galaxy as good as any other ME character and adds deeper insight into Asari.

Morinth deserves as much as Thane, Jack, TIM, Miranda, Samara, Zaeed, Wrex, Aria and so on. Really. Why not. Mass Effect is full of cold-blooded murderers after all.

Based on the email I'm guessing they originally planned to have her at the monastery but decided to scrap it when they thought not enough people would have saved her to make it worth implementing

Honestly disappointed by this but I think I could have reluctantly accepted the banshee thing if there was any actually context to it as opposed to popping up out of no where with Shepard not making a comment ( and no reason given for how they even know its her)

I'd be a little too optimistic to hope for any more Morinth cutscenes but I do wish they would at least add in some more emails, an Emily Wong style text based account of her story wouldn't be too much hassle to implement and would at least be better than what we go

I'd just like to comment and say it's quite selfish to say "I don't like something, so BioWare should just drop it".

I don't like synthesis. But BioWare should expand and spend resources on it because some people do. Think of the other millions of players. They like things too.

Morinth had a perfect role in the game...by being on the receiving end of a Cain blast. I gave her a good sendoff at the least, saved her from the ending.

...Yeah, definitely one of those things that could've been handled better though. Totally breaks the 4th wall too, since there's no way Shepard would be able to tell that ONE banshee lookalike is Morinth.

She was one of the only squad mates that wasn't even shown, right?

I was pretty disappointed. I was one of the few people that liked her. If anything, she should have at least had a cameo, not just some Banshee with the name attached.

This isn't about whether or not you liked the character, it's about the choice having a greater impact in ME3. I often made choices in certain playthroughs which I didn't personally agree with just because I was curious to see how those choices would play out in ME3.

The problem is it ties into the whole 'THIS side character deserves a cameo/appearance/entire DLC of their own!' mentality. I don't get why some character's arcs just couldn't end at ME2. I saw someone make a case for Veetor to make a return. Why? Because of the choice you made to either interrogate him with Cerberus or give him back to the fleet?

I realise swapping Samara for Morinth is a big deal, but there are other side characters out there who you could argue deserve a bigger place in the game. Nothing in particular makes Morinth that special in that regard, whether you like her or not.

Morinth DLC. Maybe play as Morinth on the mission when she gets captured.

But yeah, having Morinth survive was a big choice for Shepard and should have had more of an impact plotwise.

A galaxy without monsters... where is the fun it that?

I though she was an interesting character. In RPGs I usually prefer interesting characters over who I judge to be 'moral' just for the storyline.

Agree with the post but it's not going happen. Nor are any of the ME2 squadmates suddenly going to get a rewrite and join the squad.

But it leaves the glaringly obvious question: Why can Samara fight all the Banshees in the monastery but Morinth can't?
