Agreed.  I like puttin the Javelin on every now and again and I must say it's overall a more consistent shot than the Widow, but slower.  By consistent I mean it doesn't seem to suffer from the 'hollow bullet' syndrome that my Widow does at times.  I definitely recommend that anyone who only used the Javelin a few times and concluded that they hate it to pick it up again and try it a few more times.  Definitely a little bit of a learning curve but once ya get it, much fun to be had.

I don't know what test you were talking about but it definitely wouldn't be valid if reload cancel wasn't used for both.  And if I'm to be honest, I think 15 seconds is actually quite generous.  Maybe 8?

Casting ED then shooting them even with the Javelin's charge time only takes about 1.2 seconds.

So technically it is faster.

That depends.

The beauty of energy drain and proximity mine is that they do area damage. Stunning two hunters at once or debuffing an entire group for a tech burst/biotic explosion are both very useful.

Not to mention that getting three headshots on a dancing Phantom or a charging Brute or Banshee is not the easiest thing in the world.

It was a long time ago... I would have to search for it a bit...

It depends on where you hit the Atlas though, if you are just hitting it in the side or the back then it will take about 15 seconds, but hitting the canopy or the weak spots on its shoulders and knees then it would definitely only take about 10.

I am so pissed cause I can't get the javelin, but it's my favorite sniper.  I personally love the slight delay, it give me some time for last moment adjustments.

See, if you are relying on ED and PM to take down the shields and to tech bursts, then that no longer has anything to do with Widow vs Black Widow. Because if the shields are down already, I can still 1 shot them with the Black Widow. Only now, I can shoot two more enemies. Two enemies without shields? Two shots, two kills. I don't have a hard time 1 shotting enemy health bars, even with the BW.

Honestly if shield gating is the issue, then the kishok wins.  Thing is damn hard to hit with (if you suck like me) but with some practice...well one shotting Ravagers and brutes is just awesome.

Oy. This debate again.

My 2 cents: I have never seen a BW Infiltrator outscore me on Widow SI back when I used it, for whatever score counts for. Most of them don't even move from their sniper perch for any reason. Since I switched to Valiant, I still haven't seen any kind of Widow user outscore. I play with randoms all the time so whatever, that may mean nothing.

The BW is more efficient is you can handle it. If you can't, use the Widow. It's that simple. Use the one you prefer. If you're truly good with it, you can cover for the Widow's weaknesses compared to the BW.

javelin vrs blackwidow+widow=javelin winning over all, one shot three or four kills depending on how you set up and load out

there you go every test  has been invalidated due to javelin is the real sniper rifle, its not meant for those quick shots that all those other rifles can do.. and i know i own a javelin II and someone on this board has javelin x and 2 shot a atlas..

but of course the best way to take down a atlas is from behind  shooting it in the engine, and to the one saying its better to host with a javelin you are wrong i never ever had a problem with while playing on another person's game that is hosting
