I like the Darkside Widow, but there have been times when I hit something, it is still BARLEY alive & I think: "the old widow would've killed that thing..."
Maybe I just need practice with it.

for bodyshots, the widow is better. it kills in one shot what the BW kills in 3, at least on gold. I'm not a headshooter, I lack skill and aim. So I score higher with the widow.

i am sorry but javelin wins  no mater what..

javelin vrs blackwidow+widow=javelin winning over all, one shot three or four kills depending on how you set up and load out

there you go every test  has been invalidated due to javelin is the real sniper rifle, its not meant for those quick shots that all those other rifles can do.. and i know i own a javelin II and someone on this board has javelin x and 2 shot a atlas..

but of course the best way to take down a atlas is from behind  shooting it in the engine, and to the one saying its better to host with a javelin you are wrong i never ever had a problem with while playing on another person's game that is hosting

I have no empyrical evidence for this but I thought shooting off the platting was the best way to do it...

Hollow Bullets bug?  I am not even sure if that is the right bug...all I know is sometime my shots simply don't registar...normally when there is a stasis involved.

I don't have a lot of experience with the BW. The random gods hated me so much that by the long-ass time I finally unlocked it, I was too used to the Widow, reload-cancelling, quick-scoping and all the other shizznit that my effectiveness dropped drastically when using the Black Widow. Quick-scoping in particular feels very odd and ineffective with it.

So I just equipped the Claymore on my infiltrator, and never looked back.

The trouble with this statement is that the widow cant clear trash for nuts.

Yet the BW can kill bosses faster than a Widow.

Just go look at Spectre's comparison between a Javelin (very simliar to the widow) vs BW killing time on bosses. 
Even if you are reload cancelling for 2 shots every cycle (messes up cloak timing a little), the BW still takes a boss down faster than a widow can. 

Single shots are really only good in small crampy maps against reapers where you have little time to hardscope and fire 3 shots off per cycle.

A fully damage spec'd energy drain fired from cloak will drop the shields of almost every human sized enemy in the game, the only exceptions I believe there are is the hunter and phantom.

You then fire the cloak boosted widox X barrel V, which kills any human sized enemy including the hunter and phantom, in one shot.

You fire them both at the same time, the shot a fraction of a second behind the drain, it totals almost 5,000 damage.

This repeats every 3 seconds, which is the widow and cloaks reload time. For the hunter and phantom you simply need to drain them twice before shooting on the second, which takes 3 seconds rather than 0.

This. Whenever I'm not using a class or ability that can strip shields prepping the target for a shot Black Widow wins hands down.
And even when I can strip shields... yeah, Black Widow anyway 'cause it's so damn good and I don't need the extra dmg of the widow.
