Ive been doing some testing with reave but have been focusing on other powers during this build so Ive only got 1 point in it. From testing it always boosts my health by 81 points exactly which is far lower then say GSB would boost your shields. Later on Tali's loyalty mission I picked up energy drain and re-speced pretty much everything into it raising it to the max level. Doing that seems to give me a lot more shields then reave gave me health.

So the question is how does the buff with these powers work? Does it raise with level? Does it work off damage dealth? If so is it boosted when damaging multiple targets? Exactly how much health/shields can you get from these powers?

Very little information on this out there ive found.

Both Reave and Energy Drain work off of damage dealt.

Energy Drain buffs your shields and benefits from Power damage passives, upgrades, and armor. Energy drain deals damage instantly.

Reave buffs your health if it hits organic health, and benefits from Power damage passives, upgrades, and armor, and also benefits from duration passives. Reave does damage to the enemy over time, so I think (not completely sure, someone can correct me) that it also buffs your health over time. Reave lasts longer at higher ranks.

I am not completely sure, but if Area Reave/Energy Drain hits more targets, they should buff your health/shields more than if you took the Heavy versions and hit only one target. Not sure how easy or hard it would be to test this out.

Searched the forums for Reave and found this video. A good example of Reave working starts at the 5:00 minute mark, where you can see Reave replenishing Shepard's health several seconds after he had cast Reave and had health shot off.

Note that on Insanity, Reave (and other duration powers) take a -20% duration hit. When used against bigger targets (such as Krogan, YMIR mechs, or Geth Primes), duration powers also take a -% duration hit.

If you need more Reave builds, here are some found on the forums:
Reave Engineer by Strive.
Reaver: Biotic Assassin by ScroguBlitzen, with contributions by ryoldschool.
Reave Soldier by capn233.

Thank you youve been very helpful. Ive actually been using the Vanguard. Still not sure if I wanna use that or slam. Run out of element zero though so dont have much of a choice for the time being.

I recorded a video showing the health regeneration capabilities of rank 1 Reave, Heavy Reave, and Area Reave. I will try to get it posted in a few hours.

Video is up showing the health leeching capabilities of rank 1 Reave, Heavy Reave, and Area Reave.

This was somewhat hard to test and I hope the results adequately show the differences. Basically, I had to get shot until I started losing health > Reave > then get shot some more and not die so you could see how Reave continually adds to your health over time.

Area Reave is totally worth it for the times you can hit a group of two or three enemies.

Seconded.  Area Reave is the best because you can potentially lock down multiple enemies, and more importantly it is still powerful enough to strip all the armor off a group of husks on Insanity, or other "light" enemies.  Heavy won't give you enough armor damage to strip from any bigger units, where your weapons, or a squad member's Incinerate or Warp would be better.
