Eternal... Infinite... Immortal... High risk, incredible effort, ultimate self-sacrifice, and unfathomable responsibility. This is what Control ending about. Surrender everything you are to the Catalyst to change its personality, and force it to think like you. Some of you might wonder why? The original Catalyst already tried everything but Synthesis to find the solution. It even admitted that Cycled Harvests were only temporary solution, which eventually became obsolete. What will change with the new Catalyst?... This is the question only you can answer, dear reader. Because everything depends on who was your Shepard as a human being.

The risk of restarting the Cycles remains, but not because "power corrupts" - power can't corrupt an AI program. The risk remains because, and only because your Catalyst may find Cycled Harvests the best solution no matter even the original Catalyst disagrees... But great risk doesn't come without great rewards, so the other paths are open too. What would your Catalyst prefer? How is it planning to achieve its purpose? What will be the solution? Eventually, the Catalyst will have to choose between four options:

Apply Synthesis. This is still possible. Crucible is in place, Shepard's essence was already harvested, Citadel is intact, and Mass Relays were repaired. Everything Catalyst needs is to recharge the Crucible. Why apply Synthesis later? Because Catalyst gained a chance to study it, and prepare galactic civilization, so Synthesis will be applied in much more constructive manner.

Remain as a guardian. Act as some kind of galactic overseer, always interfering with galactic civilization development, and preventing all major conflicts. Why not? This can be done forever, even through galactic civilization and the Reapers will stagnate.

Restart the Cycled Harvests. This is one of the most effective solutions that was tried on practice and proved itself as being valid. It might be not obsolete. What does your Catalyst think about it?

Go away and never come back. Why should anyone bother protecting galactic civilizations at all? Let them develop themselves, and if they destroy themselves in the process - then so be it. It would be their own fault... Pitiful fools.

The least trusted, and almost the most hated ending, the Control remains the most varied as well. Control has much more possible outcomes than any other ending, and it's the only ending that strongly depends on Shepard's personality.

Lets totally forget that after choosing the Control ending the starbrat is shown with a semblance of a smile on his space face..

It's proud of us, that's all.

Plus, it's not like I really care regardless, I'm about to its plans by taking control of a giant Reaper army.

And seriously how do you control something when you're dead?

By virtue of not being dead.

Problem?

So, you've finally understood that Shepard actually survived as a new Catalist in Control Ending Posted Image

:D Except TIM was wrong. He would have used it for evil.

I use it for good. Shepard rebuilds the Relays and then flies the Reapers into a sun. All is good in the land of Mass Effect.

That's a nice image of synthesis you have there. Not quite sure why you posted it though. Seems a bit irrelevant.

The Normandy survivors have green eyes, not blue.

And they have circuits on their body, not random circles of light.

Shepard has blue eyes after jumping into the synthesis beam.

I'm keeping an open mind to all options for the Extended Cut. If IT turns out to be true, I'm still going to stick with control. That was my first option so it's my "canon" option.

I'd probably smile too if someone had the choice to kill me and decided not too.

Control = Collaboration
Synthesis = Surrender
Destroy = Defiance
