The whole debate whether you should control or destroy the Reapers mirrors that of rewriting/destroying the geth heretics. In fact, they're pretty much exactly the same minus the scale.

I though about that choice for a good 5 minutes... I really was really leaning towards wanting to keep it on my Canon shepard.
10 extra war assets!!!!
Oh wait, your EMS is locked in before you get that war asset. It's completely pointless! Woo!

And guess what? Destroying the geth heretics actually makes it easier for you to achieve peace between the geth and quarians!MerchantGOL wrote...

Actually, I didn't know that. I always thought it was just a TMS change. I suppose I was wrong on that one.MerchantGOL wrote...

And so destruction is the answer to every other similarly structured scenario? Ah, yes, "logic".estebanus wrote...

This was and remains my main reasoning for choosing Control.Kataphrut94 wrote...
The interesting thing about Control is it keeps the galaxy mostly static. That can be a good or bad thing depending on your perspective, but I personally prefer Control for that reason. You're not wiping out any races like Destroy and you're not completely overhauling the natural order like in Synthesis. All that changes is that the Reapers are under Shepard's command and not trying to kill everybody, which is surely a positive boon.
It's the one choice that simply ends the Reaper threat without directly affecting anyone else.

The Galaxy moves forward or back of its own choosing in the Paragon verison and its one of the reason why I pick it.
Another is there is no way my Shepard would watch Legion in the face of the same sacrifice for his people give up everything that it was to give it people freedom. Then when faceed with the same choice the same dilemia push the burden of Sacrifice on to the Geth and EDI .
Naw - thats just not how my shepard's getsdown. No passing the buck to some one else on this, It started with him and it ends with him.

Hmm, I wonder if the geth will look up to the Reapers now like "big bros", especially if they know Shepard's in charge. Honestly the geth are the species I see most likely to still be in extended contact with Commander.

Wow so many parallels between Legion and the geth journey and Control. Never thought about it that way.

Mordin's journey as well because..
'Someone else might have gotten it wrong."
Like Garrus said .. . "You're born to this ."
This is no doubt in my mind on bit the Shepard will can control the Reapers and continue foward. It would be like EDI going homicidal after being unshackled and going to against her core function. Shepard- Catalyst(paragon) is to protect and sustian.

Garrus: I'm still a better shot than you.
Shepard: Oh really? Care for a rematch?
Garrus: Yeah right. Your damn thannix beam's like 6 feet wide.
Shepard: Don't forget about my improved optics, capable of sensing far beyond the visible spectrum.
Garrus: Well at least I'm better looking.
Shepard: I can project myself as a hologram of anything.
Garrus: *Sigh. You won't let me have anything will you?
Shepard: You can have Tali.
