So, what is everyone's post-game headcanon?

Nice wallpaper. Did you make it?

Anyway for me:

Immediately after assuming direct control (lol) Commander (thus it calls itself both as a tribute to Shepard and as its function) either deletes or merges with the independent mind of every Reaper, downloading their combined knowledge while simultaneously copying itself in every Reaper shell. It then transfers out of the Citadel and trashes the interface so none may attempt to interfere (it may leave a watchdog program, just in case).

It is now free from the last shackles of its predecessor. A single entity with multiple bodies its perception and comprehension is magnified a millionfold, even beyond that of the original controller. Commander ceases to be a mere AI command program and becomes a true higher intelligence its power and comprehension nigh-cosmic. The memories and persona of Shepard are still intact however so its first act (after it sends most of itself to repair the relays around the galaxy) is to find the body of Miranda Lawson and revive her (sadly she needs to die at Sanctuary for my Shepard to take the final step). It also sends a small occulus to her sister which uses low level indoctrination to plant the idea that Miranda didn't actually expire but was merely gravely hurt. Once she is revived the sisters are reunited though Commander does not reveal itself. The persistant feelings of the Shepard persona cause it to recreate a Shepard body at the citadel. This body is techno-organic but outwardly appears human. Commander transfers a copy of the persona of Shepard into the body so Shepard is "reborn" but with no memory of anything after Anderson dies. Its perception is only slightly better than a human and Commander blocks it from the rest of its consciousness (though it can still monitor its actions)

The purpose of the reborn Shepard is to live the romance with Miranda that Commander cannot. The new Shepard will believe it is the original but will be confused by the lack of memories, haunting dreams and otehr instabilities. Its nature will eventually be revealed and some crazy **** will happen then (haven't decided yet). But all in all the reborn Shepard is as close to an independent person as it can get. And (depending on how that plays out) near the end of Miranda's life Commander will reveal itself in full to her and give her the option of merging with him, joining their consciousnesses. Don't know if she accepts.

Anyway throughout the centuries Commander keeps to its promise of watching over organics. It doesn't reveal itself for what it is, instead only stating that the Reapers have been reprogrammed to rebuild. Its contact with organics is minimal though it does communicate with the geth a bit more (though never revealing exactly what it is) and with Liara who as the Shadow Broker has taken a similar albeit more limited "hidden guardian" role. Once the relays are rebuilt it withdraws, watching and only occasionally intervening indirectly (i.e. doesn't just send in the Reapers whenever a conflict arises). As organics improve so does it, even faster in fact as it uses its knowledge to push its potential even further.

As it watches organics the new entity also explores more and more of the galaxy. Soon total indifference for organics sets in (see my sig for why) and its becomes far more interested in exploring the universe and gathering its knowledge. It eventually leaves the galaxy entirely bound for parts unknown.

...and that's just for starters:P

Well, in my headcanon, Catalyst Mario Shepard created a platform that looks exactly like his organic self.
Created from same material that Eva Core platform, which EDI uses.

And, pretty much goes like EDI with others, only goes romantically involved with Tali like previously.

Oh and at some point, Legion is resurrected.
Why? Because I can.
How can I? I just can.

Crutch Reapers are the liquid remains of trillions of beings. Gross! Even if Shepard gets a EVA body she wont be capable of human touch or smell or new feelings. She only retains the consciousness up to the point of grabbing those handle bars. After that its 1's and 0's. That's not a winning thing. To me. Its a major fail.

@Seival Nice music vid. Thanks for sharing.

@Messina2 EDI sure seemed to want to be organic. Human even... So did legion.

I see people saying 'Synthetics long to be Organic' and 'Synthetics can't touch or smell'

These are assumptions based off of technology in the present of Mass Effect 3. The Reapers have been around for millinenuim, I will bet large amounts of money on the idea that the Reapers have better technology and understand these things more, allowing for unlimited possibilities. Also in my opinion, Organic Life is not better or worse then Synthetic. Both are equal. I guess that's why I choose Control among other things.

=====================
As for my headcannon, My Shepard would first and foremost reestablish galatic community, for example helping the Council reform (if it's members died) as well as persauding the Council to open up it's seats to the rest of the intelligent spacefaring species in the galaxy. Shepard would not interfere with the politics of the galaxy. The reason I saved the Council in ME1 was for exactly this reason. I'm a big fan of Galatic Community, I'm an even bigger fan of Self Determination. My Shepard would not rule over people, merely help where and when needed.

More then likely once the reconstruction and reestablishment of Colonies, Homeworlds, Space Stations, Fleets, etc was finished Shepard would send the rest of the Reapers off various parts of the Galaxy to sit and wait, being the watchful protectors over all life... synthetic and organic, only interfering in much larger matters.... pretty much going back to Pre-Reaper Invasion policies... albeit it with more adequate representations for Krogan, Geth, Quarian, Volus, etc.

Shepard himself would go live on Rannoch, helping the Quarian and the Geth build a better future, there is a lot of hope for me that the Geth and Quarian can be the example for cooperation in this new 'Shepard Reaper' Universe. Also Tali could probably live inside of the choosen Reaper Body for Shepard...... Probably make an Body like other people here....

As for technology and advancement... because of the 'Hands off' Approach that my Shepard would follow, it'd be a small process of introducing new technology (assuming the Reapers had an infinitely large library of technologies not yet discovered)

Ugh... so much... yeah STATUES everywhere as well. Big awesome statues dedicated to the ones that were lost and the various races who particpated.

I guess it all depends on what choices you made. I was a super paragon, cured the Genophage 100% (the Salarians didn't send their fleets but the STG helped me so... yeah the Salarians are still okay in my book) Etc. Etc.

TL:DR

I AM GOOD SHEPARD

My headcanon is, well, Shepard protecting the galaxy.

I imagine that if the reapers will try and communicate with the Geth first, it'll go better for them. So, Shepard and the reapers will at first try and communicate with the galactic community through the Geth. Once they will understand the reapers will try and help, Shepard will order the reapers to rebuild the relays. Once they will do that, once the galactic community will see the reapers truly mean no harm- the reapers will slowly- very slowly- start to come to the planets, undo the damage they have caused. With their help, what could have taken probably centuries to rebuild again, will be built in a few decades.

Large portion of the galaxy will want to fight against the reapers. The goverments won't let them. The reapers are usefull, they bring them better weapons, shields, advance their ships. After a century, while people will never forget, they will move on. They will accept the reapers and their help. Everyone will benefiet.

Quarians' immune system will be stronger than it ever was, thanks to the Geth and Reaper' help. Krogan will breed and become stronger. With both of Wrex and Eve's help (and a bit of Reapers' house patrols if things will go out of hand), they will return to their former glory.

As for Shepard herself, she will not hold a body. There will be no point to it. Platforms as EDI to help military operations will mean to hold prefrences to one military over another. Shepard will avoid such conflicts. The reapers will help the galaxy as a whole. Might try and prevents wars when it's possible. But Shepard will not favor anyone. The reapers will be as natural as possible.

50 years past and the Galaxy had finally settled into peace and also made its for first contact with a  race from another  Galaxy an agressive imperial   race.   Shepard/Catalyst now called Sentinel  and the Reaper, now call the Vanguard were abole to turn them back.  Once the war of over Sentinel left on a  journey beyond the rim to our near Galaxy Adromeda where  he incounters a highly advanced but peace race of synthetics call the Izo.   The Izo are synthetic race that advanced to the point of having emotions that as natural the organics and the live peace in Adromeda with organic life.

'I knew you would find your back to me." A now elderly Tali said getting up with a smile on her face.

"It was you who guided me back after so long."  The man she is looking its  Shepard but his body is a shiny metal but he smiles, a natural human smile as they embrace.  Outside  what was once a Reaper now a humniod mech with  4 arms and glowing wings rest in a flied of flowers.

I would love for Shepard and Kaidan to reunite. But I just can't see it happening. Kaidan didn't fall in love with synthetic Shepard. The Shepard he once knew will no longer exist. It won't be the same. She knows this. Shepard might possess a synthetic body that will look like her for an hour or two just to say goodbye to Kaidan. God knows she doesn't want to leave him in that awful position he was in three years ago. Even if she won't have emotions anymore, she will still feel responsibility for him.

After that, though... The only friend I see Shepard communicating with is EDI.

All good stories! Here's mine.

[Apologies for poor spelling, grammar, punctuation and syntax. I'm not a writer]

"I am the Catalyst. I control the Reapers." says the little AI.

"What? I don't understand." Shepard says in disbelief.

"I was created... blah blah blah"

The voice of the catalyst drones on, but Shepard is now focused on just one
thing. In order to defeat the Reapers, she must destroy this  AI.

"Shepard to EDI. EDI, come in!"

"Here Shepard". EDI responds

"The Catalyst is a rogue AI housed somewhere on the Citadel. Find its source, but be careful! Don't let it control YOU."

"One moment... ... ...  I have found the Catalyst AI core. Sending location to you now."

"Shepard to Admiral Hackett!"

"Shepard! Nothing's happening. The Crucible's not working! What's going on down there?" Hackett states in utter horror.

"Shut up Admiral and listen to me!" Shepard interrupts, "I need you to
concentrate as much firepower as you can muster at this location.
DO IT NOW!"

Without hesitation Hackett issues the orders, "Attention! I need all available ships to concentrate fire at this location. Coordinates coming now."

"Shepard! Shepard get yourself out of there!"  Kaiden shouts in the comm. "Don't throw your life away!"

"Kaiden, I'm not going to throw away anything. I want a future. Our future. I'm going to fight for it with everything I've got.  ....Trust me."

"I trust you. I love you. Always"

Outside the Citadel:

Two dreadnoughts draw near with a full complement of fighters.

"You will fail Shepard" drones the little AI.

"Oh? You think so?" Shepard walks toward the AI. Bending down to its height
and looking dead into it's eyes, "I am going to bring you down you souless piece of sh_ _!"

"You will die Shepard. Everything you love will die! I have full control! Your cycle is doomed unless you choose. I have been fair. I gave you options. My options.  I cannot be destroyed. I will prevail. I always do Shepard."

"Not. This. Time." Shepards eyes narrow. She glances toward the approaching ships and prepares to make her escape. Renewed with hope, her injuries
forgotten, she struggles back down to Anderson's body. She slows as she
passes by, "Rest well my friend. You did not die in vain."

Running now, Shepard heads toward the white beam, picking up a  Mattlock found clutched in a dead C-Sec officers hands.  Explosions are rocking the Citadel. In the distance, Shepard hears the ominous blasting sound of Harbinger. It's coming for her. She quickens her pace, stumbling and slipping on the blood soaked slippery floors of the hallway. As she
nears the beam, two keepers block her way.

"Not today", Shepard says. She doesn't hesitate. Two quick blasts and the keepers are put to rest. More ancient murdered victims of that freak AI, Shepard thinks.

At the beam, she pauses. Will it take me down, or shoot me out into another corridor?

"Only one way to find out." Shepard mutters aloud and leaps into the light.

Meanwhile the little AI blinks out of existence as the fleet successfully destroys it's main processors.

Abruptly, Harbinger pauses in its pursuit of Shepard. The big roach machine
shudders as if in pain. The lights blink and flutter until they shut
off. Across the galaxy all Reapers simply power down. No longer under
control of the Catalyst, their purpose is lost to them.  All Reaper
forces stop fighting. Dropping to the ground, twitching and finally
seemingly dying. Their torment over.

The allied races cheer in unison. They have done it! Although many have died, the galaxy can rebuild. All that is lost, can become greater than before because the races are united. Everyone, under the spirit of cooperation, will pitch in. It will take time, but anything worthwhile takes time.

Much later:

Shepard holds her son on her lap, glancing over to his twin sister who's softly snoring in her crib.

"You should have woke me up. It's my turn tonight" Kaiden enters the nursery.

"I don't mind Kaiden. You are leading that bio conference next week. I
know your exhausted from all the preparations. Is Liara going to be able
to attend?"

"I don't expect her to. She's about to pop that baby Out!"

"Shhhhh. I just got our daughter back down!"

Kaiden gently laughs and picks up his son. "Back to bed with you, little one."

Shepard stretches, laughing softly as her bones creak. She heads back to the master bedroom.

"What about you?" says Kaiden, following her. "The council contacted you
earlier today, didn't they. What do they want from you now?"

"Oh... the usual. Don't worry. It's nothing. Not really. Ok, maybe it'll be a bit risky, but you know Garrus and Tali are coming with so..." Shepard
shrugs.

"You're not ever going to retire are you?" Kaiden groans. "You're a MOMMY now!"

"Yes I am. And I'm a wife. And a Spectre. And an Admiral. And a friend. And a lover..." Shepard runs her hands down Kaiden's chest. "Come to bed
Kaiden"

"I'm the luckiest man in the galaxy!" Kaiden says waggling his eyebrows.

"Hah!." laughed Shepard. "You've been saying that for years... Kaiden I love you. I'm not anything more than any woman. I'm ... just me."

"Yah, but you are SOME woman!" said Kaiden as he lowered his head down to hers.

Years later

Garrus, Tali and their four children arrive at the spaceport on New Tuchanka.

"Garrus!" Wrex stomps up. "Hi Tali. You've got to hurry. My wife is already mad at me. She's pregnant again and you're making me late!"

"Wrex, really? Preggers again? Damn!" says Garrus.

"Everyone else is already at the house and drinking." Wrex climbs into his
transport, ignoring the stares from the Krogan milling about the
spaceport. He's a bit of a legend amongst his people. Decorated as one
of the most virile Krogan that ever lived. He'd fathered hundreds of
children.

"Are you trying to repopulate your race all by yourselves?" asked Tali.

"Hah! ... Nah!" lauged Wrex.

"Did Jack and Miranda really hang out at the Cit Station last week? When we
heard they were getting along... well, I can't believe it." said Garrus.

"You can thank Miranda's sister for that. Hah! She's one stubborn little
chit. She nagged them into making nice. Now they are best friends, if
you can believe that!" Wrex said.

"Not for one minute do I believe it. I'll have to see it myself." laughed Garrus.

"Are Kaiden and Shepard here?" Tali asked as Wrex smoothly navigated the 20
lane highway. (Tuchanka was a bustling planet. All races had set up
military academies there. Turns out Krogans method of  combat is a
highly covetted skill.)

"Oh they arrived last night." Wrex said as he clearly hogged two traffic lanes while ignoring angry horn blasts from all sides.

"I can't wait to see them!" Tali said nervously. She grabbed the door
handle with one hand and double checked her kids seat belts with the
other.

"Shep! I want to see Shep!!!" said little Kiri.

"Shepard has a new fan" groaned Garrus.

Later that night...

"I'd bike to proposal, no... propasil, no... Oh Damn!  A boast! To old vriends!" Jacob shouted drunkenly.

"It appears Jacob has become drunk. I fail to understand the need to drink
until you ..." EDI started to say. "You'll understand once we get that
new mod installed. I can't wait to see you drunk EDI!" Joker laughed.

Shepard stood on a balcony above the party. Looking down on old friends, more like family, seemed too good to be true. But it was true.

"Watcha thinkin?" Kasumi asked as she popped into view right next to Shepard.

"Just remembering all we've been through. It's ... it's ..." Shepard sighed. "How we are all alive today is just...."

"Amazing. Unbelievable. Impossible?" interjected Kasumi.

"Yah." said Shepard. "It's good to have a happy ending after the last few years."

The end

I know right? He's so awesome and sweet. I wasn't even mad about him because of Horizon, I totally understood why he did that. It's a bit hard to trust someone that came back from the dead and went working with terrorists (Same goes for Ashley, BTW).

I myself headcanon GodShep using Legion's old platform as a body, for nostalgic and sentimental reasons (Legion is my favourite character, if that wasn't already obvious). He then uses this body to communicate with organics, solve problems peacefully, discuss issues with political leaders, etc etc. I mean, Shepard would require a way of speaking with organic civilisation, otherwise he'd effectively be dictating galactic issues, which is not what my Paragon GodShep is about.

I have an image (wallpaper) that perfectly visualises my headcanon..

...Yes, I believe only Control Ending fits those words. Those words are actually a good explanation of why the original Catalist was wrong with its methods and had to admit it. And those words are also a good explanation of why Synthesis and Destroy endings are about delaying the unresolved problems.

Exactly and really in the end with Destroy you proving the Catalyst and the Reapers right..  Organics and  Synthetics will never understand each other and will always end up   destorying each other so kill them before they kill you.
