Now see, me, I read it as "Shepard dies. But her 'programming' (morals, behavioral patterns, what have you) is imprinted on the Reapers and the Catalyst." Though I like some of the "Shepard lives on in the Citadel" interpretations, and none of them are solely valid, pending more information.

I think there is a break, as well as a connection, between the Catalyst and the Reapers. It may represent, to some extent, their programming, reminding the Reapers of their operating parameters and function without taking an active role. Plenty of speculations, bounding through the bright spring sunshine like robins on a wormy lawn.

If you didn't need a support group, then why did you make one?

That's... Higher than I expected, it was a much closer race when I voted. :blink:

Aah well, I still enjoyed grew to appreciate my ending and hopefully Bioware weren't trolling when they wrote it and the EC stands by it.

EDIT: "enjoyed" is so not appropriate

I guess most people in this thread overlook the fact that if Shepard chooses Control, he becomes a Reaper. How... is that good exactly?

Shepard becomes the Reapers.

I don't consider that good in and of itself, but I think it's a sacrifice worth making to save the Geth. I truly don't expect to do anything with them. I don't feel interfering is the best thing to do. I'd probably rebuild the Relays if that was within my power, but other than that...

I'd probably hide out in Dark Space. If you can search through the knowledge of Reapers, then you'd be able to map out the entire Relay Network, open up all the dormant ones.

No. Shepard becomes a Reaper.

I thought about that a lot of time before creating this thread... And I came to conclusion that becoming a Reaper or Reapers is not logical. Reapers themselves have no society or chain of command. They have no free will.

The only person/force that can Control the Reapers is the Catalist. So, in order to Control the Reapers Shepard has to become a new Catalist... It can be described like that I think:
---> Catalist = Brain.
---> Reapers + Citadel + Mass Relays = Body.

...So this enormus half-organic construct Catalist + Reapers + Citadel + Mass Relays can be considered like a one living being with persistent mind and a lot of different body parts... Proof:
---> Shepard: "I thought the Citadel is a Catalist."
---> Catalist: "I am the Catalist, and Citadel is a part of me."

I think the catalyst should have been Avina... it would have made way more sense.

Yet you come here and tell us how much you love destroy and why you think the other choices are wrong. It's not bad, don't get me wrong, But it seems there is much to talk about in there. Yet you don't do it.

Yeah, that's what I meant. You become the Catalyst, but as an extention of that concept, you become the Reapers. They are your arms, if you will.

The Catalyst is Shepard's mind, the Reapers are his/her arms.

It's a tongue in cheek expression we got. We've gotten pretty close and now we play MP together. There's a certain... brotherhood between us.

Believe me, sometimes I really wish I could believe the IT.

Sadly, I chose control and hate everybody that hate the choice :pinched: (not literally hate, of course)

"There's always another way."

Thanks though, you shined some honesty on me, and I really hope we both get what we want out of the E.C.

I think the IT would be an amazing thing to include in the E.C. but picked Control.

I really think it could be reallly cool if he could control the reapers but I personally would want it renegade style, policing the galaxy with the iron fist of the reapers.

If I'm going to control them, I want to CONTROL them, not just fly them into the sun.

I'v abandoned my destroy banner as it's kind of inflammatory in this thread where I just now realized it could be fun to control the reapers and become the new overlord.

No don't be like that! We all just came into a nice conversation with confessions and "thanks yous" and stuff. No need to go to the airlock now, is there?
